Abstract

Various embodiments provide a method of manufacturing an interdigitated back contact solar cell. The method comprises the step of providing a substrate having a back surface. The method comprises the step of arranging a first charge-carrier collector on the back surface of the substrate, the first-charge carrier collector comprising a first doped layer having a first conductivity type and a first transparent conductive oxide layer, the first charge-carrier collector comprising a plurality of spaced-apart first charge-carrier collection elements, each first charge-carrier collection element comprising a portion of the first doped layer and a portion of the first transparent conductive oxide layer. The method comprises the step of, subsequent to arranging the first charge-carrier collector, arranging a second charge-carrier collector on the back surface of the substrate, the second charge carrier collector comprising a second doped layer having a second conductivity type and a second transparent conductive oxide layer, the second charge-carrier collector comprising a plurality of spaced-apart second charge-carrier collection elements interdigitated with the first charge-carrier collection elements, each second charge-carrier collection element comprising a portion of the second doped layer and a portion of the second transparent conductive oxide layer. Some other embodiments provide an interdigitated back contact solar cell and solar module.
