A technology that can help improve light-emitting performance is provided. The display device 1 sequentially includes: a substrate 11, an anode 12, a hole transport layer 15, a light-emitting layer 16, an electron transport layer 17, and a cathode 18. The light-emitting layer 16 is composed of quantum dots 16A, and the electron transport layer 17 is composed of metal oxide nanoparticles 17A. The average particle diameter R1 of the quantum dots 16A is smaller than the average particle diameter R2 of the metal oxide nanoparticles 17A.
