Abstract

Currently, there is a need for resin compositions that possess high biodegradability and excellent properties, primarily thermal stability and hydrolysis resistance. However, conventionally known biodegradable resins do not necessarily exhibit superior properties. For example, a resin with exceptionally high biodegradability, thermal stability, hydrolysis resistance, and strength has not yet been obtained. Therefore, there is a demand for resins that possess high biodegradability and excellent properties, primarily thermal stability, hydrolysis resistance, and strength. This problem can be solved by the following polyester carbonate. Specifically, this invention is a polyester carbonate comprising: a polyester having constituent units derived from aliphatic diols and aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, and constituent units derived from diesters; the acid value of the aforementioned polyester carbonate is 0.01~0.24 mgKOH / g, and the amount of OH terminators in the aforementioned polyester carbonate is 10~500 ppm.
