Liquid crystal composition, liquid crystal display device and use thereof

Abstract

To provide a liquid crystal composition that satisfies at least one property-such as a high upper temperature limit, a low lower temperature limit, low viscosity, high optical anisotropy, large negative dielectric anisotropy, high elastic constant, high specific resistance, high stability to light, or high stability to heat—or that possesses an appropriate balance in at least two such properties, as well as an AM device comprising this composition. The liquid crystal composition may contain: as component A, a specific compound having low viscosity or a high upper temperature limit; as component B, a specific compound having a high upper temperature limit or low viscosity; as component C, a specific compound having large negative dielectric anisotropy; or as additive X, a specific compound having a polymerizable group.
