Abstract

A method for operating a blast furnace, the method comprising: a step of preheating a hydrocarbon gas; and a step of blowing the preheated hydrocarbon gas into the tuyeres of the blast furnace, wherein in the preheating step, the preheating temperature of the hydrocarbon gas is set to a predetermined temperature based on the preheating time of the hydrocarbon gas, the predetermined temperature being set in a manner that is above a predetermined temperature threshold.
