Abstract

This invention ensures seawater exchange between the inside and outside of the dike under normal circumstances and prevents seawater from intruding into the dike in emergencies. The dike 100 is a dike located at the boundary between a first water area 1 and a second water area 2, and includes: a caisson 10, comprising a first opening 11 opening towards the first water area 1 and a second opening 12 opening towards the second water area 2; a partition wall 5, dividing the internal space 20 of the caisson 10 into a first chamber 21 communicating with the first opening 11 and a second chamber 22 communicating with both the second opening 12 and the first chamber 21; and a pressure adjustment mechanism 30, which adjusts the pressure of the air sealed in the first chamber 21 and the second chamber 22, and switches between a water-permeable state and a water-stopped state in the first chamber 21 and the second chamber 22.
