Abstract
This invention provides an optical stack that can reduce interference inhomogeneities in an image display device. The optical stack of an embodiment of this invention sequentially comprises a polarizing plate containing a polarizing element, a first bonding layer, a first retardation film, and a second bonding layer. The optical stack satisfies the following equation (1): [(nθ1-nθ2)2+(nθ3-nθ2)2]×d1×d2<1000・・・(1) (In equation (1), nθ1 represents the refractive index of the first bonding layer in the transmission axis direction of the polarizing element, nθ2 represents the refractive index of the first retardation film in the transmission axis direction of the polarizing element, nθ3 represents the refractive index of the second bonding layer in the transmission axis direction of the polarizing element, d1 represents the thickness of the first bonding layer [nm], and d2 represents the thickness of the second bonding layer [nm]).
