Abstract

The present invention is based on a method for determining the failure probability of at least one of a battery system (10a), particularly a state in which the failure probability increases, the battery system having at least one electrochemical cell (12a), wherein, in at least one determining step (14a; 14b; 14c; 14d), at least one degradation parameter of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a) is determined by means of a virtual sensing unit (16a), the degradation parameter specifically providing an indication of a degradation state of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a) in a defined state. It is proposed that, in one determining step (14a; 14b; 14c; 14d), the failure probability of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a) is determined according to the degradation parameter. The invention is based on a method for ascertaining a failure probability, in particular at least a state of an increased failure probability, of at least one cell system (10a), with at least one electrochemical cell (12a), wherein, in at least one ascertainment step (14a; 14b; 14c; 14d), at least one degradation parameter of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a), which in particular provides an indication of a state of degradation of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a) in a defined state, is ascertained by means of a virtual sensor unit (16a). It is proposed that, in an ascertainment step (14a; 14b; 14c; 14d), a failure probability of the at least one electrochemical cell (12a) is ascertained in dependence on the degradation parameter.
