System and method for recycling a product with expandable polystyrene

Abstract

The present invention proposes a reduction system for expanded polystyrene (EPS) products, comprising a crushing device, an air separation device, a compression device, a kneading tank device, and an extraction device. First, the crushing device is used to preliminarily crush products containing expanded polystyrene (EPS) or contaminated expanded polystyrene. Then, the air separation device is utilized to screen and remove foreign substances. The screened fragments are sent to the compression device for further volume reduction. The compressed expanded polystyrene fragments are then transferred to the kneading tank device, where they undergo a volume reduction chemical reaction with a solvent or other liquid, significantly decreasing in size while achieving greater energy efficiency compared to conventional techniques. Finally, the extraction device separates the reduced-volume liquid (reusable solvent) and restores the expanded polystyrene into a processable material.
