Actuator system

Abstract

The objective of this invention is to provide a technique that can suppress the increase of cycle time and achieve miniaturization of the actuator. The actuator system of this invention includes: an actuator having a shaft, a drive unit for axially moving the shaft, a first sensor for detecting contact between the front end of the shaft and a workpiece, and a first control unit; and an air compressor unit having a switching unit for switching the supply and stopping of negative pressure to the hollow portion of the shaft, a second sensor for detecting the workpiece adhering to the front end of the shaft, and a second control unit. The first control unit of the actuator communicates with the second control unit of the air compressor unit via serial communication to obtain the sensing result of the second sensor. Furthermore, the first control unit of the actuator controls the switching unit by communicating with the second control unit of the air compressor unit via serial communication.
