Abstract
According to the present invention, a manufacturing method is provided, which is a method for producing a thermoplastic resin by reacting a composition containing at least a dicarboxylic acid represented by formula (1) and a metal derived from the dicarboxylic acid, wherein the aforementioned metal comprises Li, Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, Cr, Fe, Ni, Zn and Sn in an amount totaling less than 10,000 ppb. (In formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an iodine atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or may contain aryl groups having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, alkenyl groups having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or aralkyl groups having 7 to 17 carbon atoms, of heterocyclic atoms selected from O, N and S. a and b each independently represent an integer from 0 to 5.)
