Abstract

The method for making a biodegradable hot melt adhesive is provided, and the method includes: mixing multiple biodegradable materials and performing a chemical crosslinking reaction to form a copolymer; performing a hydrolysis reaction on the copolymer to form a hydrolyzed copolymer; and mixing the hydrolyzed copolymer, a first additive and a second additive together and heating to form a biodegradable hot melt adhesive. The multiple biodegradable materials include at least two of polylactic acid, polycaprolactone, polybutylene succinate, polyhydroxyalkanoate, and polyethylene glycol. The first additive includes at least one of a tackifying resin and a plasticizer, and the second additive includes at least one of an anti-oxidant and an anti-hydrolysis agent. The method for making a biodegradable hot melt adhesive has the advantages of simple production process and low cost, and the produced biodegradable hot melt adhesive has excellent performance.
