Modular jack

Abstract

A low-profile modular socket is provided, which can be easily constructed to achieve miniaturization of electronic devices. The modular socket 1 is an electrically connected modular plug 2, which has: a plug body 4 with a cable 3, a contact member on the object side of the plug body 4, and a locking lever 6 that is elastically deformable by rotating one end of the plug body 4 toward the plug body 4 as a fulcrum. The modular socket includes: a housing 13 for inserting the plug 2; a contact member 14 connected to the object side contact member; and a shell 15 for locking the locking lever 6 so that the plug 2 cannot be dislodged from the housing 13. The shell 15 has a limiting part 27, which maintains the locking lever 6 in a state where it can be locked in the shell 15, and limits the rotation of the locking lever 6 away from the plug body 4.
