Cable intermediate connection part

Abstract

This invention provides a cable intermediate connection portion that improves heat dissipation from the conductor connection portion to the insulation unit, ensuring specified insulation performance even with a shortened compressed length of the conductor connection tube. The cable intermediate connection portion is a combined type, comprising: an insulation unit having internal electrodes; and a cable end portion for connecting the conductors of two power cables to each other via the conductor connection portion and housing them within the insulation unit. The conductor connection portion includes: a conductor connection tube for compressively connecting the cable conductors; an intermediate sleeve extending to cover the compressed portion of the conductor connection tube and electrically and mechanically connected to the uncompressed portion of the conductor connection tube; and a multi-faceted contact disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate sleeve. The cable conductors and internal electrodes are mechanically connected via the conductor connection tube and the multi-faceted contact.
