Methods and apparatus for video coding

Abstract

A method and apparatus for video coding using coding tools including neural network-based intra prediction are disclosed. According to the method, input data associated with a current block is received, wherein the input data comprise pixel data for the current block to be encoded at an encoder side or coded data associated with the current block to be decoded at a decoder side, and wherein the current block is partitioned into multiple partitions. Intra prediction samples for a target region of the current block are derived according to an intra prediction mode, wherein the intra prediction mode comprises NN (Neural Network)-based intra prediction. Non-NN-based intra prediction samples for the target region of the current block are derived. Final prediction samples are generated based on the intra prediction samples and the non-NN-based intra prediction samples. The current block is encoded or decoded using the final prediction samples.
