Methods for use in a process for migrating resources between integrated access and backhaul topologies

Abstract

Methods for use in a process for migrating resources from a source Integrated Access and Backhaul, IAB, topology to a target IAB topology of a communication system are disclosed. Each of the source IAB topology and the target IAB topology comprises a set of IAB nodes and a donor Central Unit, CU. A method at the target donor CU of the target IAB topology comprises: determining migration capabilities of the target IAB topology for supporting additional resources of another IAB topology; and sending, to the source donor CU of the source IAB topology, migration capability information, the migration capability information indicating the determined migration capabilities of the target IAB topology. A method at the source donor CU of the source IAB topology comprises: determining a plurality of different migration schemes associated with resources to be migrated from the source IAB topology to the target IAB topology; sending, to the target donor CU of the target IAB topology, a migration request including migration information for each of the plurality of different migration schemes.
