Carrier tape for loading chips

Abstract

Provided in the present invention is a carrier tape for loading chips, including: a pocket tape having a plurality of recessed accommodating portions provided in a length direction thereof, the plurality of recessed accommodating portions being used to accommodate chips; a cover tape covering the pocket tape, wherein: the carrier tape further includes one or more releasable adhesive portions attached to a surface of the cover tape facing the plurality of recessed accommodating portions of the pocket tape, the releasable adhesive portion being configured to adhere to a chip accommodated in a recessed accommodating portion, and to have the adhesive force thereof reduced when heated or irradiated with ultraviolet light, so as to release the chip. According to the technical solution of the present invention, by means of providing a cover tape having a releasable adhesive portion, and adhesively affixing the chip by the releasable adhesive portion, suspended fixation of the chip in the recessed accommodating portion is achieved, and direct contact of the chip, particularly micro-bumps thereon, with the recessed accommodating portion of the pocket tape during transportation and handling is prevented, thereby reducing the risk of damage.
