Abstract

This invention provides a catalyst support comprising at least 60% titanium dioxide. Based on the weight of the catalyst support, the catalyst support has a two-level pore structure. The peak position of the first-level pores, measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry, is in the range of 10 nm to 40 nm, with a half-maximum width (HW) of 1 nm to 30 nm. The peak position of the second-level pores is in the range of 80 nm to 160 nm, with a HW of 40 nm to 120 nm. The specific surface area of ​​the catalyst support is 5 m² / g to 25 m² / g. This invention also provides a method for preparing the catalyst support. The catalyst support simultaneously possesses high strength and water absorption while also having an appropriate specific surface area, thereby enabling the catalyst containing it to more effectively remove pollutants from wastewater.
