Abstract

A composition for forming a lower layer membrane, used to form a lower layer membrane of a self-assembled membrane, contains a polymer; the polymer has a unit structure (A) having groups represented by the following formula (A). (In formula (A), Ar1 and Ar2 each independently represent an aromatic hydrocarbon group that may have substituents. Ar1 and Ar2 may be further bridged by bonds or groups other than -CX-. X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom. * represents a bond.)
