Abstract

A culture apparatus comprising: a housing for containing a culture medium; a rotating body having an upper surface immersed in the culture medium contained within the housing, and capable of rotating about an axis extending in the vertical direction; and a drive unit for driving the rotating body to rotate about the aforementioned axis. The upper surface has: a gentle slope extending upward toward a rearward side in the direction of rotation opposite to the direction of rotation of the rotating body; and a steep slope connected to the top of the gentle slope extending downward toward the rearward side in the direction of rotation, and being steeper than the gentle slope.
