Abstract

A system of contact lenses and method of designing and prescribing the same. The system includes a family of contact lenses having at least one cylinder power across a plurality of sphere powers, each lens having a stabilization zone on the front surface positioned outside of the optic zone. For each cylinder power within the family, there is a set of lenses comprising a first lens having only a sphere power in the central optical zone, and a first maximum thickness of the stabilization zone designed to provide a predetermined angular recovery response and rotational stability on eye for a first population having a first eyelid pressure, and a second lens having the first and a second sphere power for correcting presbyopia.
