Abstract

This invention provides an electronic device capable of efficiently transmitting information related to data transfer between electronic devices. According to one embodiment, the electronic device includes random access memory (RAM) and an interface circuit. The interface circuit performs communication between the electronic device and an external electronic device. The interface circuit stores data received from the external electronic device in the RAM. The interface circuit manages multiple credit values, each corresponding to a different category and representing the amount of data of that category that can currently be received from the external electronic device. The interface circuit sends a first message packet containing credit information representing at least one credit value among the multiple credit values ​​to the external electronic device.
