Abstract
Description
Asset Management Methods This invention relates to asset management; in particular, it refers to an asset management method that utilizes geolocation information to manage assets. To manage different assets, most asset producers or owners will record basic information about the assets. Furthermore, companies with many assets will archive basic asset information to facilitate management and maintenance. Taking the management of lifting equipment as an example, such as hooks, buckles, carabiners, and fall arresters, these equipment are involved in the safety of life and property. Therefore, they need to be inspected to ensure their safety. However, such assets are not fixed in one location or used. When inspecting these assets, inspectors often cannot know whether the assets are in the location where they should be placed or used, which causes confusion during the inspection. In view of this, the purpose of this invention is to provide an asset management method that can alert inspectors when the target asset to be inspected is outside the expected geographical area. To achieve the above objectives, the present invention provides an asset management method applied to a data management system. The data management system includes a database storing a plurality of asset data corresponding to a plurality of assets. Each asset data item includes an identification code, and the identification code corresponds to a specific asset. The asset management method includes the following steps: A. Provide an electronic device having a radio frequency tag reading module, the electronic device using the radio frequency tag reading module to read a radio frequency tag set on a target asset to obtain a unique identification code of the radio frequency tag; the electronic device receives geolocation information from a positioning system; B. The electronic device is connected to the data management system and transmits the unique identifier, the geolocation information, and a verification data to the data management system; C. The data management system searches for the corresponding asset data in the database based on the received unique identification code to form a target asset data, wherein the identification code of the target asset data matches the unique identification code; D. The data management system determines whether the geolocation information is located within a geographic area of the target asset data, wherein: When the geolocation information is located within the geographic area of the target asset data, the data management system records the geolocation information and the verification data in the target asset data; When the geolocation information exceeds the geographical area of the target asset data, the data management system sends an alert message to the electronic device. The advantage of this invention is that when the target asset being inspected is within the expected geographical area, its inspection data can be recorded in the target asset data; when the target asset being inspected exceeds the expected geographical area, an alert message is generated to remind the inspectors. To more clearly illustrate the present invention, preferred embodiments are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Please refer to Figure 1, which shows a data management system 1 and its connection architecture used in an asset management method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The data management system 1 includes a server 10 and a database 12. The server 10 is connected to an Internet 20 via wired or wireless means. In this embodiment, the database 12 is represented as independent of the server 10, but this is not a limitation; the database 12 and the server 10 can also be integrated into the same host. At least one user uses at least one electronic device 30, which is connected to the server 10 of the data management system 1 via the Internet 20. The electronic device 30 can be a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other device that can connect to the Internet 20 via wired or wireless means. Figure 1 shows a plurality of such electronic devices 30, and the users of these electronic devices 30 are a plurality of inspectors. Each electronic device 30 includes a screen 302, a RFID reader module 304, and a positioning module 306. The screen 302 displays data, and the RFID reader module 304 reads an RFID tag 40 in a contactless manner to obtain a unique identification code carried by the RFID tag 40. The RFID tag 40 is disposed on an asset 50. In this embodiment, a plurality of RFID tags 40 are disposed on a plurality of assets 50, with each asset 50 having one RFID tag 40, and each RFID tag 40 carrying a corresponding unique identification code. In this embodiment, these assets are examples of hanging devices, such as hooks, buckles, carabiners, and fall arresters. The RFID reader module 304 may be built into the electronic device 30, but is not limited thereto. Alternatively, the RFID reader module 304 may be separate from the electronic device 30 and connected to it via wired or wireless means. The positioning module 306 is used to receive geographic positioning information from a positioning system 60. In this embodiment, the positioning system 60 is a Global Positioning System (GPS), and the received geographic positioning information includes longitude and latitude. In other embodiments, the positioning system may also be a telecommunications network, Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth, or a wireless RFID positioning system. The server 10 is used to process the data stored in the database 12. As shown in Figure 2, the database 12 stores a plurality of asset data P01~P12, which correspond to the respective assets 50. The asset data P01~P12 can be connected to the server 10 by the manufacturer or owner of the asset 50 using a management device (such as a computer) and created in the database 12 through the server 10. Each asset data P01~P12 includes a plurality of fields (fields F1~F12), which include a basic field group (fields F1~F5) and a verification field group (fields F6~F12). The fields in the basic field group (fields F1~F5) record the basic information of each asset data P01~P12. For example, field F1 is an identification code field, which records an identification code, which is the unique identification code of the RFID tag 40 on the corresponding asset 50. Field F2 records an asset name. Field F3 records an asset number. Field F4 records one of the geographic location information of the intended placement or use location of the asset 50. The geographic location information is, for example, longitude and latitude. Field F5 records a geographic area range, which corresponds to the geographic location information. The identification codes in these fields F1 are represented by "ID001" to "ID012"; the contents recorded in each field F2 to each field F5 are represented by "DATA". Through the identification codes recorded in these fields F1, the unique identification code carried by each RFID tag 40 can correspond to an asset data P01 to P12 and an asset 50. Taking asset data P08 as an example, its corresponding asset is 508. When the location or use of asset 508 is not yet determined, fields F4 and F5 of the corresponding asset data P08 have no recorded content, that is, no record of the geographic location information and the geographic area range. Asset 508 can be defined as a target asset, and the corresponding asset data P08 can be defined as target asset data. Inspectors are assigned to set the geographic location information and geographic area range of asset data P08 for asset 508. The geographic location information and geographic area range of the target asset data are set through a setting step of the asset management method of this embodiment, as shown in Figure 3. The setting step includes: Step S101: After the inspector arrives at the location of the asset 508 (target asset), the inspector uses the electronic device 30a as an example. The electronic device 30a uses the radio frequency tag reading module 304 to read the radio frequency tag 40 set on the asset 508 (target asset) to obtain the unique identification code of the radio frequency tag 40, such as ID008. The electronic device 30a receives a geolocation information (i.e., the first geolocation information defined in this invention) from the positioning system 60. Step S102: The electronic device 30a connects to the data management system 1 and transmits the unique identification code and geolocation information obtained in step S101 to the data management system 1. In this embodiment, after the inspector operates the electronic device 30a to connect to the server 10, the electronic device 30a transmits the unique identification code and geolocation information to the server 10. Step S103: The data management system 1 searches for the corresponding asset data P08 (target asset data) in the database 12 based on the received unique identification code. In this embodiment, after receiving the unique identification code, the server 10 compares the unique identification code with the content of the identification code field (field F1) of each asset data P01~P12 in the database 12 to find a matching identification code. When a matching identification code is found, the corresponding asset data P08 becomes the target asset data. Step S104: The data management system 1 establishes the geographic area range based on the received geographic location information and records it in the target asset data. In this embodiment, the server 10 records the geolocation information in field F4 of the asset data P08 (target asset data) as geolocation information of the location where the asset 508 (target asset) is scheduled to be placed or used. The server 10 also establishes the geographic area range based on the geolocation information and records it in field F5 of the asset data P08. More specifically, the step of the data management system 1 establishing the geographic area range in the setting step includes: The server 10 of the data management system 1 generates a map setting page 80 (refer to Figure 4) based on the received geolocation information. The map setting page 80 has an electronic map 802 corresponding to the geolocation information, and displays a current location 802a corresponding to the geolocation information on the electronic map 802. The server 10 of the data management system 1 transmits the map setting page 80 to the electronic device 30a, and displays the map setting page 80 on the screen 302. The inspector using the electronic device 30a selects a predetermined range 802b on the electronic map 802 of the map setting page 80 displayed on the screen 302. The predetermined range 802b may be, for example, the geographical area where the asset 508 (target asset) is placed or used, such as the factory area where the asset 508 is located, and the predetermined range 802b covers the current location 802a. The electronic device 30a transmits the predetermined range 802b to the server 10 of the data management system 1. The server 10 of the data management system 1 establishes the geographic area range based on the predetermined range 802b, and the geographic area range covers the geographic location information. In addition to establishing the geographical area in the manner described above, in other embodiments, the data management system 1 can also establish an area with a predetermined radius centered on the geographic location information as the geographical area. The predetermined radius can be set by the inspector through the electronic device 30a. Each asset data P01~P12 can be configured with the geographic location information (field F4) and geographic area range (field F5) of the intended placement or use location of each asset 50 through the above configuration steps. Each of the inspection field groups (fields F6 to F12) of each asset data P01 to P12 records inspection data for that asset data. For example, field F6 records the scheduled inspection cycle of asset 50. The scheduled inspection cycles for different asset data P01 to P12 may be the same or different. Each scheduled inspection cycle is, for example, one year. Each scheduled inspection cycle has a start date and an end date. Asset 50 must be inspected within the scheduled inspection cycle and pass the inspection before it can be used. Field F7 records the name or employee number of the inspector. Field F8 records the inspection standard. Field F9 records the inspection date. Field F10 records the geographic location information at the time of inspection. This geographic location information is, for example, the longitude and latitude at the time of inspection. Field F11 records the parts inspected. Field F12 records the inspection status data. The content recorded in fields F6 to F11 is represented by "DATA". The content recorded in field F12 is either a pass or a fail status. A pass status is indicated by "pass," and a fail status by "fail." The aforementioned inspection data can be uploaded to the database 12 by the inspector via the electronic device 30a connected to the server 10. In this embodiment, some fields in each inspection field group can be set to read-only, such as the inspection standards recorded in field F8, to prevent modification by the inspected personnel. Taking asset data P08 as an example, when the asset has not yet been inspected, fields F7, F9, F11, and F12 have no recorded content. The aforementioned field groups, number of fields, and content of fields are merely illustrative examples of the asset management method of this invention and are not intended to limit the invention. Furthermore, when the content of each field in each of the asset data P01~P12 is added, changed, or deleted, the server 10 of the data management system 1 records the added, changed, or deleted content in a log of the database 12 for subsequent tracking. The following describes an inspection step in the asset management method of this embodiment. This inspection step is used to inspect at least one of the target assets and includes the following steps shown in FIG5, with asset 508 as an example. Step S201: After the inspector arrives at the location of the asset 508 (target asset), he uses the electronic device 30a to read the RFID tag 40 set on the asset 508 with the RFID tag reading module 304 to obtain the unique identification code of the RFID tag 40, such as ID008; the electronic device 30a receives geolocation information from the positioning system 60. Step S202: The electronic device 30a connects to the data management system 1 and transmits the unique identification code, geolocation information, and inspection data from step S201 to the data management system 1. In this embodiment, after the inspector connects the electronic device 30a to the server 10, the inspector inputs the inspection data on the electronic device 30a. The inspection data includes the inspector's name or employee number, inspection date, inspected parts, and pass / fail status. The electronic device 30a transmits the unique identification code, geolocation information, and inspection data to the server 10. In this embodiment, when the electronic device 30a cannot connect to the data management system 1, the electronic device 30a temporarily stores the unique identification code, geolocation information, and inspection data in a storage medium on the electronic device 30a. When the electronic device 30a can connect to the data management system 1, the electronic device 30a then transmits the unique identification code, geolocation information, and inspection data to the data management system 1. Step S203: The data management system 1, based on the received unique identifier, searches for the corresponding asset data P08 in the database 12 to form the target asset data, wherein the identifier of the target asset data matches the unique identifier. In this embodiment, after receiving the unique identifier, the server 10 compares the unique identifier with the content of the identifier field (field F1) of each asset data P01~P12 in the database 12 to find a matching identifier. When a matching identifier is found, the corresponding asset data P08 forms the target asset data. Step S204: The data management system 1 determines whether the geolocation information is located within the geographic area of the target asset data. In this embodiment, the server 10 compares the received geolocation information with the geographic area of field F5 of the asset data P08, wherein: When the server 10 determines that the received geolocation information is within the geographic area of the asset data P08 (target asset data), it means that the target asset is located within the geographic area corresponding to the predetermined placement or use location. Then, the server 10 of the data management system 1 records the geolocation information and the verification data in the asset data P08 (target asset data). For example, the verification data is recorded in fields F7, F9, F11, and F12 of the asset data P08, and the geolocation information is recorded in field F10. When the server determines that the geolocation information exceeds the geographical area range of the asset data P08 (target asset data), it means that the target asset has been moved out of the geographical area range corresponding to the intended placement or use location. The server 10 of the data management system 1 then sends an alert message to the electronic device 30a. Upon receiving the alert message, the electronic device 30a displays it on the screen 302. This alerts the inspector that the current location of the target asset does not conform to the originally intended placement or use location. The server 10 of the data management system 1 temporarily does not record this inspection data in the asset data P08 (target asset data). In this embodiment, when the geolocation information exceeds the geographical area range of the target asset data, a modification step is further included to change the geographical area range where the target asset is intended to be placed or used. This modification step includes the following steps shown in Figure 6. Step S301: The data management system 1 sends an inquiry message to the electronic device 30a, which asks the user of the electronic device 30a whether to change the geographical area. In this embodiment, the server 10 generates the inquiry message and sends it to the electronic device 30a, where it is displayed on the screen 302. Step S302: The electronic device 30a transmits a change request to the data management system 1. In this embodiment, when the inspector confirms that the geographical area range needs to be changed, the electronic device 30a transmits the change request to the server 10. Step S303: The data management system 1 records the geolocation information and the inspection data in the target asset data according to the change request. The server 10 of the data management system 1 records the geolocation information in fields F4 and F10 of the asset data P08 (target asset data), and records the verification data in fields F7, F9, F11, and F12 of the asset data P08. Step 304: The data management system 1 establishes a new geographic area range based on the received geolocation information and records it in the target asset data. In this embodiment, the server 10 establishes a new geographic area range based on the received geolocation information and records it in field F5 of the asset data P08, replacing the original geographic area range. More specifically, the step of the data management system 1 establishing the geographic area range in this change step includes: Based on the received geolocation information, the server of the data management system 1 generates a map setting page 82 (refer to Figure 7). This map setting page 82 includes an electronic map 822 corresponding to the received geolocation information, and displays a current location 822a corresponding to the geolocation information. The server 10 of the data management system 1 transmits the map setting page 82 to the electronic device 30a, which displays the map setting page 82 on the screen 302. The inspector using the electronic device 30a selects a predetermined range 822b on the electronic map 822 of the map setting page 82 displayed on the screen 302. This predetermined range 822b can be, for example, a new geographical area where the asset 508 (target asset) is placed or used, such as a new factory area where the asset 508 is located, and the predetermined range 822b covers the current location 822a. The electronic device 30a transmits the predetermined range 822b to the server 10 of the data management system 1. The server 10 of the data management system 1 establishes a new geographic area based on the predetermined range 822b, and the new geographic area covers the geographic location information. In addition to establishing the new geographical area in the manner described above, in other embodiments, the data management system 1 can also establish an area with a predetermined radius as the new geographical area, centered on the received geolocation information. The predetermined radius can be set by the inspector through the electronic device 30a. Each asset data P01~P12 can be modified through the above-mentioned modification steps to change the geographic location information (field F4) and geographic area range (field F5) of the intended placement or use location of each asset 50. In this embodiment, multiple asset data P01~P12 in the database 12 have a second geographic location information, that is, the geographic location information recorded in column F4 of each asset data P01~P07, P09~P12 other than the target asset data P08 is defined as the second geographic location information. This inspection step, following step S304, may further include the following steps: The data management system 1 selects at least one asset data corresponding to the second geolocation information located within the geographic area from the asset data P01~P07, P09~P12 to form at least one other target asset data. For example, if the second geolocation information in asset data P01 is located within the geographic area of asset data P08, the server 10 selects asset data P01 from field F4 of the asset data P01~P07, P09~P12, and the selected asset data P01 forms the other target asset data. The data management system 1 generates a corresponding checklist, which includes at least one item. This at least one item includes the second geolocation information of the at least one other target asset data. In this embodiment, the server 10 of the data management system 1 generates the checklist, which includes one item. This item includes at least the second geolocation information (i.e., field F4) of the asset data P01 (another target asset data), and may also include other fields of the basic field group of the asset data P01, such as the identifier of field F1, the asset name of field F2, or the asset number of field F3. The data management system 1 transmits the list to be inspected to the electronic device 30a. In this embodiment, the server 10 transmits the list to be inspected to the electronic device 30a. As shown in Figure 8, the electronic device 30a displays a target location 842 on an electronic map 84 on the screen 302 of the electronic device 30a based on the second geolocation information of the asset data P01 (the other target asset data), and generates a path 846 from the current location 844 corresponding to the geolocation information to the target location 842 on the electronic map 84. In this way, inspectors can confirm the location of another asset 50 (another target asset) to be inspected on the electronic device 30a, and inspectors can move to the location of the other target asset by following the path 846 to conduct the inspection. The steps for inspecting the other target asset are the same as steps 301 to 304. The above description uses one target asset data as an example. However, when there are multiple target asset data, for example, if the second geographic location information of asset data P01 to P05 is located within the geographic area of asset data P08 (target asset), the server 10 of the data management system 1 selects asset data P01 to P05 from the field F4 of asset data P01 to P07, P08 to P12. The selected asset data P01 to P05 form a plurality of target asset data. The server of the data management system 1 generates the list to be inspected, which includes a plurality of items. Each item includes at least the second geolocation information of the other target asset data. As shown in Figure 9, the electronic device 30a displays the target locations 862 on the electronic map 86 on the screen 302 of the electronic device 30a based on the second geolocation information of the asset data P01~P05 (the other target asset data), and the displayed path 866 connects the current location 864 and the target locations 862. In this way, inspectors can confirm the location of the other assets 50 (the other target assets) to be inspected on the electronic device 30a, and inspectors can move sequentially to the location of the other target assets according to the path 866 for inspection. The steps for inspecting each of the other target assets are the same as steps 301~304. Inspectors may also transfer some of the items on the list to be inspected to other inspectors for inspection. Inspectors can use the electronic device 30a to select a portion of the items in the list to be inspected as multiple transfer items and transmit these transfer items to the server 10 of the data management system 1. The server 10 of the data management system 1 generates another list to be inspected based on the received transfer items. Another inspector connects another electronic device 30b to the data management system 1. This electronic device 30b transmits its received geolocation information to the server 10. When the server 10 determines that the geolocation information of the electronic device 30b is within the geographical area of the asset data P08 (target asset data), the server 10 of the data management system 1 transmits another list of items to be inspected to the electronic device 30b. The data management system 1 sends a delete command to the electronic device 30a, specifying the deletion of these transferred items. After receiving the delete command, the electronic device 30a deletes these transferred items from the list of items to be inspected. As shown in Figure 10, after receiving the deletion command, the electronic device 30a deletes the transferred items in the list to be inspected. Then, based on the second geolocation information of the remaining items in the list to be inspected, the electronic device 30a displays the target locations 882 and generates a new path 886 on the electronic map 88 on the screen 302 of the electronic device 30a. The new path 886 connects the current location 884 and the target locations 882. As shown in Figure 11, the electronic device 30b displays a plurality of other target locations 902 on another electronic map 90 on its screen 302 based on the second geolocation information of the transfer items in the other checklist, and also displays another current location 904 of the electronic device 30b, which is generated based on the geolocation information received by the electronic device 30b. The electronic device 30b generates another path 906 on the electronic map 90 from the current location 904 to the target locations 902, and the path 906 connects the current location 904 and the target locations 902. This allows multiple inspection tasks for the same target asset within the same geographic area to be assigned to multiple inspection personnel. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the data management system 1 can also connect to an environmental information system 70 via the Internet 20. The environmental information system 70 can be, for example, an open-source weather website. The environmental information system 70 provides at least one environmental parameter, which is taken as an example of temperature, but is not limited to this; it can also be other environmental parameters such as humidity, rainfall, and wind speed. Taking asset data P01 as the target asset data as an example, the data management system 1 queries the environmental information system for the maximum and minimum values of environmental parameters within a predetermined period (e.g., the last 24 hours) based on the geographic location information of asset data P01. The server 10 of the data management system 1 determines that if either the maximum or minimum value of the environmental parameter within the predetermined period falls outside a standard operating range, the predetermined inspection cycle is shortened accordingly. For example, the standard operating range is the range of values within which asset 501 (the target asset) corresponding to asset data P01 can operate normally. For instance, the standard operating temperature range is -20℃ to 80℃. If the minimum temperature within the predetermined period is -25℃, which exceeds the standard operating temperature range of -20℃ to 80℃, it indicates that the target asset is in a more severe environment. Therefore, the server 10 advances the termination date of field F6 in asset data P01 by a predetermined number of days, such as 30 days, thereby shortening the predetermined inspection cycle. The server of the data management system 1 can query the at least one environmental parameter from the environmental information system 70 at predetermined intervals based on the geographic location information of the target asset data to determine whether the predetermined inspection cycle of the target asset data needs to be shortened. In this embodiment, the database 12 of the data management system 1 includes multiple location information of multiple maintenance locations. When an inspector discovers that the target asset being inspected requires repair, the inspector operates the electronic device 30a to read the RFID tag 40 attached to the target asset using the RFID tag 40 reading module to obtain the unique identification code of the RFID tag 40. The inspector then uses the electronic device 30a to send a repair query request to the data management system 1, the repair query request including the unique identification code. The server 10 of the data management system 1, based on the geographic location information of the target asset data corresponding to the unique identification code in the repair query request and the location information of the maintenance locations, finds the location information of the maintenance location closest to the geographic location information of the target asset data and sends it to the electronic device 30a. This allows the inspector to send the target asset to the nearest maintenance location for repair. The above description is only a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Any equivalent changes made by applying the present invention specification and the claims should be included within the patent scope of the present invention. 1: Data Management System; 10: Server; 12: Database; 20: Internet; 30, 30a, 30b: Electronic Device; 302: Screen; 304: RFID Reader Module; 306: Positioning Module; 40: RFID Tag; 50: Asset; 501: Asset; 508: Asset; 60: Positioning System; 70: Environmental Information System; 80: Map Setting Page; 802: Electronic Map; 802a: Current Location; 802b: Preset Range; 82: Map Setting Page; 822: Electronic Map; 822a: Current Location; 822b :Pre-defined range 84:Electronic map 842:Target location 844:Current location 846:Path 86:Electronic map 862:Target location 864:Current location 866:Path 88:Electronic map 882:Target location 884:Current location 886:Path 90:Electronic map 902:Target location 904:Current location 906:Path F1~F12:Fields P01~P12:Asset data S101~S104:Steps S201~S204:Steps S301~S304:Steps Figure 1 illustrates the data management system and its interconnection architecture used in the asset management method of a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
