Abstract

An image recognition method combining a wide-field-of-view camera and a narrow-field-of-view camera is disclosed. The method uses an image recognition device to identify object images within a large-area image captured by the wide-field-of-view camera, thereby obtaining location information, size information, and distance information between the wide-field-of-view camera and the target object. Based on the location information, the image recognition device controls a beam-directing unit to rotate to a target position. This target position causes the beam-directing unit to project a beam of light reflected from the target object onto the lens of a narrow-field-of-view camera. Based on the size and distance information, the image recognition device controls the narrow-field-of-view camera to adjust to a target focal length and receive the beam of light reflected from the target object projected by the beam-directing unit, thus obtaining a target image.
