Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This invention relates to a power connector. Prior Technology
[0002] In devices such as servers, multiple pin-type plugs can be installed, and correspondingly, multiple socket-type receptacles can be installed. Typically, multiple plugs can be mounted on the same substrate and simultaneously plugged into multiple receptacles. However, due to potential errors in the installation position or dimensions during the manufacturing process of the plugs and receptacles, the plug may deviate from the insertion channel in the receptacle when plugged in. Therefore, reducing the impact of manufacturing errors on the plug-receptacle connection remains a problem that needs to be solved in this field. Summary of the Invention
[0003] The objective of this invention is to provide a power connector that improves docking stability.
[0004] To achieve the above objectives, the present invention can adopt the following technical solution: a power connector, comprising: an insulating body, wherein a forward-penetrating mating groove and two rearward-penetrating terminal grooves are formed in the insulating body, the two terminal grooves are respectively located on the lateral sides of the mating groove, the insulating body is provided with a partition wall, the partition wall is located between the two terminal grooves; two conductive terminals, the two conductive terminals are respectively located on the lateral sides of the mating groove; a conductive terminal includes a fixing part, an elastic part and a contact part, the fixing part is fixed to the partition wall, the elastic part bends forward from the fixing part and extends forward, the elastic part is received in the corresponding terminal groove, the front end of the elastic part is provided with a contact part protruding into the mating groove, the contact part extends from one side of the fixing part, the elastic part can move and deform in the lateral direction in the terminal groove to provide elastic force, and the elastic part is located on the lateral outside of the fixing part.
[0005] To achieve the above objectives, the present invention can adopt the following technical solution: a power connector, including a housing and a conductive component; the housing is provided with an insertion surface, a first socket penetrating the insertion surface, a first space communicating with the first socket, and a second space communicating with the first space; the conductive component includes a base and a plurality of inclined extending elastic arms, the base being housed within the first space and movable in the radial direction of the first space, the radial direction being perpendicular to the insertion direction; wherein, the base is provided with a guide channel, the guide channel gradually contracting along the insertion direction; the plurality of elastic arms are arranged along the circumferential direction of the guide channel and extend into the second space.
[0006] Compared to previous technologies, when the power plug is inserted into the power connector, the conductive components can be moved radially by the guide ring and the push of the power plug. This adjusts the position of the base, allowing the guide channel to move from a position offset from the power plug to a position aligned with it, ensuring accurate insertion of the power plug into the power connector. This reduces the impact of dimensional and installation position errors on the insertion of the power plug and power connector, improving the convenience and stability of the connection. Implementation
[0008] The technical solutions of the embodiments of this application will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Obviously, the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of this application, and not all of the embodiments.
[0009] The term "multiple" in this application refers to two or more. Furthermore, it should be understood that the terms "first," "second," etc., used in the description of this application are used only for descriptive purposes and should not be construed as indicating or implying relative importance, nor as indicating or implying order.
[0010] In the description of the embodiments in this application, the words "exemplary" or "for example" are used to indicate examples, illustrations, or explanations. Any embodiment or design that is described as "exemplary" or "for example" in the embodiments of this application should not be construed as being more preferred or advantageous than other embodiments or design options. Specifically, the use of the words "exemplary" or "for example" is intended to present the relevant concepts in a specific manner.
[0011] Please refer to Figure 1, which illustrates a usage scenario of a power connector 100 provided in an embodiment of this application. In this embodiment, the power connector 100 can be fixedly mounted on an external component 200. The external component 200 can be a circuit board, or a copper busbar, aluminum busbar, etc., capable of transmitting power. The power connector 100 can be electrically connected to the external component 200. The power connector 100 can be mated with a power plug 300. A first socket 111 can be provided on the power connector 100, and the power plug 300 can be inserted into the first socket 111 in the insertion direction, so that the power plug 300 is electrically connected to the power connector 100; the power plug 300 can also be pulled out from the first socket 111 in the opposite direction of the insertion direction. Similarly, the power plug 300 can be fixedly mounted on the external component 200.
[0012] The direction in which the power plug 300 is inserted into the first socket 111 can be defined as the insertion direction, and the insertion direction can coincide with the extension direction of the power plug 300. As shown in Figure 1, the insertion direction can be the Z direction shown in Figure 1. The insertion direction has a first side and a second side; as shown in Figure 1, on the power connector 100, the side facing the power connector is the first side, and the side away from the power connector is the second side, that is, the side away from the Z-direction arrow is the first side, and the side facing the Z-direction arrow is the second side. The first socket 111 can be formed on the first side of the power connector 100. In the embodiments of this application, the fixing method during fixed connection and fixed installation is not specifically limited. For example, the fixing method can include, but is not limited to, welding fixing, integral molding fixing, snap-fit fixing, and screw fixing.
[0013] Referring to Figures 2 and 3, in some embodiments, the power connector 100 may include a housing 10 and a conductive component 20. The housing 10 has an insertion surface 112 and a mounting surface 121. The insertion surface 112 is located on a first side of the housing 10. The mounting surface 121 is located on one side of the insertion surface 112 in the insertion direction and is spaced apart from the insertion surface 112. The mounting surface 121 is fixed to an external component 200. The insertion surface 112 has a first socket 111, and a second socket 123 is provided on a second side of the housing 10. The first socket 111 and the second socket 123 are opposite to each other. A first space 113 and a second space 124 are provided within the housing 10. The first socket 111, the first space 113, the second space 124, and the second socket 123 are arranged sequentially along the insertion direction and communicate with each other. The first space 113 communicates with the first socket 111, and the second space 124 communicates with both the first space 113 and the second socket 123. The inner side of the first space 113 has a first inner wall surface 114 and a second inner wall surface 122 that are perpendicular to the insertion direction.
[0014] The conductive component 20 may include a base and a plurality of inclined, resilient arms 241. The base is housed within a first space 113 and confined between a first inner wall surface 114 and a second inner wall surface 122. A gap may exist between the periphery of the base and the inner peripheral wall of the first space 113, i.e., the base is radially spaced from the inner peripheral wall of the first space 113. A guide channel 232 is formed on the base, and a guide socket can communicate with the first socket 111 and the second socket 123. The cross-section of the guide channel 232 may be circular, and the guide channel 232 gradually narrows along the insertion direction, i.e., the diameter of the guide channel 232 gradually decreases in the insertion direction. The power plug 300 can be inserted into the guide channel 232 through the first socket 111 and passes through the guide channel 232 and the second socket 123, enabling the power plug 300 to be connected to the power connector 100. When the power plug 300 is inserted into the guide channel 232, the power plug 300 can abut against the inner wall of the guide channel 232 to push the base to move in a radial direction perpendicular to the insertion direction. A plurality of elastic arms 241 are arranged along the circumference of the guide channel 232 and extend into the second space 124, and the plurality of elastic arms 241 can abut against the power plug 300.
[0015] It is understood that the conductive component 20 can be made of a conductive metal, for example, a copper alloy. The elastic arm 241 can be electrically connected to the base. The elastic arm 241 achieves electrical connection with the conductive component 20 by abutting against the power plug 300, thereby enabling current flow with the power connector 100. It is understood that the base can have a circular cross-section, with the radial direction of the base being any diameter of its cross-section. Similarly, the housing 10 can have a circular cross-section, with the radial direction of the housing 10 being any diameter of its cross-section. The axial direction of the base coincides with the axial direction of the housing 10, and both coincide with the insertion direction.
[0016] It is understood that the first inner wall surface 114 and the second inner wall surface 122 can clamp the base to restrict its movement in the insertion direction. The inner wall of the guide channel 232 can be inclined or curved to achieve gradual contraction in the insertion direction. When the guide channel 232 deviates from the power plug 300, the power plug 300 abuts against the inner wall of the guide channel 232 during insertion into the power connector 100. The inner wall of the guide channel 232 guides the base to move in the radial direction, thereby allowing the guide channel 232 to gradually align with the power plug 300, enabling the power plug 300 to pass through the guide channel 232 to achieve electrical connection with the power connector 100. In this way, the dimensional and installation position errors of the power connector 100 and the power plug 300 can be reduced, thus reducing the impact on the insertion of the power plug 300 and the power connector 100, and improving the convenience and stability of the connection between the power plug 300 and the power connector 100.
[0017] The outer casing 10 may include a cover 11 and a base 12. The cover 11 may include a first ring 115 and a first cylindrical portion 116. The first ring 115 extends radially, and a first insertion hole 111 is formed on the first ring 115, with an insertion surface 112 located on a first side of the first ring 115. The first cylindrical portion 116 is fixedly connected to the inner side of the first ring 115, extends along the insertion direction, and surrounds the outer side of the base. The diameter of the first cylindrical portion 116 is larger than the diameter of the base, creating a gap between the periphery of the base and the inner wall of the first cylindrical portion 116. A first space 113 is located within the cover 11, and a first inner wall surface 114 is formed on a second side of the first ring 115.
[0018] The base 12 may include a second ring plate 125 and a second cylindrical portion 126. The second ring plate 125 extends radially and is fixedly connected to the first cylindrical portion 116 to connect the cover 11 to the base 12. A first space 113 is formed between the first ring plate 115 and the second ring plate 125. A second inner wall surface 122 is formed on a first side of the second ring plate 125, and a mounting surface 121 is formed on a second side. The diameter of the second ring plate 125 may be equal to the diameter of the first cylindrical portion 116. The second cylindrical portion 126 is fixedly connected to the inner side of the second ring plate 125 and extends in the insertion direction. A second space 124 is formed within the second cylindrical portion 126. The diameter of the second cylindrical portion 126 is smaller than the diameter of the second ring plate 116. A second insertion hole 123 is formed on the second side of the second cylindrical portion 126.
[0019] Multiple retaining portions 117 extend from the second side of the first cylindrical portion 116. These retaining portions 117 are spaced apart circumferentially and are all fixedly connected to the first cylindrical portion 116. Multiple slots 127 are formed around the periphery of the second ring portion 242. These slots 127 are spaced apart circumferentially and correspond one-to-one with each of the retaining portions 117. Each retaining portion 117 can be inserted into its corresponding slot 127, thus securing the multiple retaining portions 117 to the second ring plate 125. It can be understood that the retaining portions 117 can interfere with and be fixed to the inner wall of the slot 127 to achieve a fixed connection between the base 12 and the cover 11.
[0020] Please refer to Figure 4. In the first embodiment, the outer casing 10 can be fixedly connected to the external component 200 by soldering. At this time, the retaining part 117 protrudes from the second side of the second plate ring 125 in the insertion direction. The second cylindrical part 126 can pass through the external component 200, and the second sides of the plurality of retaining parts 117 can abut against the external component 200, so that there is a gap between the mounting surface 121 on the second plate ring 125 and the external component 200, through which solder can pass and connect with the mounting surface 121 and the external component 200.
[0021] Please refer to Figure 5. In the second embodiment, the outer shell 10 can be fixedly connected to the external component 200 by interference fixing. In this case, the second side of the fastening part 117 can be flush with the second side of the mounting surface 121, and the mounting surface 121 can abut against the external component 200. Interference patterns 128 can be raised on the peripheral wall of the second cylindrical part 126. The external component 200 can pass through the second cylindrical part 126, and the interference patterns 128 can interfere and fix with the external component 200 to achieve a fixed connection between the outer shell 10 and the external component 200.
[0022] In some embodiments, the base may include a first plane 21, a second plane 22, and a guide ring 231. The first plane 21 and the second plane 22 are located on a first side and a second side of the base, respectively. The first plane 21 may mate and abut against a first inner wall surface 114, and the second plane 22 may mate and abut against a second inner wall surface 122. The inner wall of the guide ring 231 is connected to the first plane 21. The guide ring 231 extends along the insertion direction, and a guide channel 232 is formed in the guide ring 231. The guide ring 231 protrudes from the root of the elastic arm 241 closest to the first plane 21, which connects to the base.
[0023] Please refer to Figures 6 to 8. In some embodiments, the conductive component 20 may include a guide 23, an abutment 24, and a retaining ring 25. The guide 23 may include a first ring portion 234 and a guide ring 231 extending from the inside of the first ring portion 234 along the insertion direction. A first plane 21 is formed on a first side of the first ring portion 234. A plurality of first retaining holes 235 are formed on the first ring portion 234, the plurality of first retaining holes 235 penetrating the first ring portion 234 along the insertion direction, and the plurality of first retaining holes 235 are spaced apart along the circumferential direction.
[0024] The number of abutment members 24 can be multiple, and the multiple abutment members 24 can be arranged along the insertion direction. Each abutment member 24 may include a second ring portion 242 and multiple elastic arms 241 extending from the inner side of the second ring portion 242. Each second ring portion 242 has multiple second fixing holes 243, which penetrate the corresponding second ring portion 242 along the insertion direction, and the multiple second fixing holes 243 are spaced apart along the circumferential direction. The first ring portion 234 can be connected to the adjacent second ring portion 242.
[0025] The number of fixing rings 25 can be multiple, and the multiple fixing rings 25 can be arranged along the insertion direction. A second ring portion 242 can be provided between every two adjacent fixing rings 25, and a fixing ring 25 can be provided between every two second ring portions 242, and the side of each second ring portion 242 facing the second inner wall surface 122 is connected to a corresponding fixing ring 25. Among the multiple fixing rings 25, the fixing ring 25 on the first side is located between the first ring portion 234 and the adjacent second ring portion 242, and abuts against the second side of the first ring portion 234; the fixing ring 25 on the second side is located between the second inner wall surface 122 and the adjacent second ring portion 242, and abuts against the second inner wall surface 122, and a second plane 22 is formed on the second side of the fixing ring 25. Each fixing ring 25 can be connected to the adjacent first ring portion 234 and / or second ring portion 242, so that the first ring portion 234, all the second ring portions 242 and all the fixing rings 25 can cooperate to form a base.
[0026] Each fixing ring 25 has multiple fixing protrusions 251, which are located on the first side of the fixing ring 25 and fixedly connected to it. The multiple fixing protrusions 251 can be spaced apart along the circumferential direction. The number of fixing rings 25 can be defined as N, where N is an integer greater than one; the number of abutting members 24 is N-1. The N fixing rings 25 are sequentially arranged from the first fixing ring 25 to the Nth fixing ring 25 along the insertion direction. The first fixing ring 25 is located between the first ring portion 234 and the second ring portion 242 adjacent to the first ring portion 234, and the Nth fixing ring 25 is located between the second inner wall surface 122 and the second ring portion 242 adjacent to the second inner wall surface 122. An embodiment of this application can be illustrated with an example where N equals 5.
[0027] On the first fixing ring 25, multiple fixing protrusions 251 can correspond one-to-one with multiple first fixing holes 235, and each fixing protrusion 251 can pass through the corresponding first fixing hole 235 to fix the first fixing ring 25 to the guide member 23; the guide ring 231 can pass through the hollow part of the first fixing ring 25 and the hollow part of the first second ring portion 242 along the insertion direction. The first fixing ring 25 can abut against the second side of the first ring portion 234 and the first side of the adjacent second ring portion 242.
[0028] On the second to the Nth fixing rings 25, multiple fixing protrusions 251 correspond one-to-one with multiple second fixing holes 243 on the second ring portion 242 adjacent to the fixing ring 25 and located on the first side of the fixing ring 25. Each fixing protrusion 251 can pass through the corresponding second fixing hole 243 to fix the fixing ring 25 and the abutment 24 adjacent to the fixing ring 25 and located on the first side of the fixing ring 25. Multiple elastic arms 241 on each abutment 24 can pass through the hollow part of the fixing ring 25 adjacent to the abutment 24 and located on the second side of the second ring portion 242.
[0029] Each retaining ring 25 may have multiple limiting holes 252 on its periphery, and these limiting holes 252 may be spaced apart along the circumferential direction. Each second ring portion 242 has its periphery bent to form multiple lugs 244, each lug 244 extending in the opposite direction to the insertion direction. On each second ring portion 242, the multiple lugs 244 can be inserted into the multiple limiting holes 252 on the retaining ring 25 adjacent to the second ring portion 242 and located on its first side, to strengthen the fixation between the retaining ring 25 and the adjacent abutment 24. Thus, on the first to the (N-1)th retaining rings 25, a corresponding lug 244 is inserted into each limiting hole 252. The second side of each second ring portion 242 is connected to an adjacent retaining ring 25, and the first side of each second ring portion 242 is connected to another adjacent retaining ring 25.
[0030] In some embodiments, among the plurality of abutment members 24, the placement angles of every two adjacent abutment members 24 are different, namely a first angle and a second angle, respectively. The difference between the first angle and the second angle can be less than 90 degrees. Thus, among the N-1 abutment members 24 arranged from the first side to the second side, the first abutment member 24 and the other abutment members 24 whose sequence number differs from one by an integer multiple of two have the same placement angle, which is one of the first angle and the second angle; the remaining abutment members 24 have the same placement angle, which is the other of the first angle and the second angle.
[0031] When the power plug 300 is inserted into the power connector 100, among the multiple abutting members 24 positioned at the first angle, the abutting piece on the abutting member 24 with the smaller sequence number abuts against the power plug 300 first. As the power plug 300 continues to move from the first side to the second side, the elastic arm 241 on the smaller sequence abutting member 24 can first scrape away dirt from the power plug 300, reducing the probability of poor contact due to contact with dirt on the power plug 300 by the abutting member 24 with the larger sequence number, thus improving the stability of the connection between the power plug 300 and the power connector 100. Similarly, among the multiple abutting members 24 positioned at the second angle, the elastic arm 241 on the smaller sequence abutting member 24 can first scrape away dirt from the power plug 300, reducing the probability of poor contact due to contact with dirt on the power plug 300 by the abutting member 24 with the larger sequence number, thus improving the stability of the connection between the power plug 300 and the power connector 100.
[0032] In some embodiments, each second ring portion 242 has a plurality of notches 245 formed on its peripheral wall, and the plurality of notches 245 are spaced apart along the circumferential direction. A plurality of spring pieces 246 are fixedly connected to the periphery of each second ring portion 242. Each spring piece 246 is fixedly connected to the inner wall of the corresponding notch 245. Each spring piece 246 is bent away from the insertion direction and abuts against the fixing ring 25 adjacent to the second ring portion 242 and located on the first side of the second ring portion 242, so that the second ring portion 242 and the fixing ring 25 abutting against the spring piece 246 are spaced apart. Meanwhile, in the insertion direction, the thickness of each fixing protrusion 251 can be less than the thickness of the corresponding second ring portion 242.
[0033] It is understood that when the power plug 300 abuts against the multiple elastic arms 241, the power plug 300 can apply pressure to the abutment 24 in the insertion direction. At this time, at least a portion of the retaining rings 25 in the conductive assembly 20 can press the spring pieces 246 located on their second side, so that at least a portion of the adjacent second ring portions 242 and the retaining rings 25 move closer to each other. After being pressed, the spring pieces 246 can undergo elastic deformation and buffer the pressure applied by the power plug 300, reducing the probability of the conductive assembly 20 being damaged due to the insertion of the power plug 300. At the same time, the elastic force generated when the multiple spring pieces 246 elastically deform can drive the first ring portion 234 to approach the first inner wall surface 114 and drive the Nth retaining ring 25 to approach the second inner wall surface 122, so that the first plane 21 and the second plane 22 of the base can respectively maintain contact with the first inner wall surface 114 and the second inner wall surface 122, so that the conductive assembly 20 can remain fixed to the outer casing 10 when the power plug 300 is not inserted.
[0034] When the fixed protrusion 251 abuts against the corresponding second ring portion 242, the fixed ring 25 where the fixed protrusion 251 is located cannot further press the spring piece 246 on the corresponding second ring portion 242. In this way, when the conductive component 20 is compressed under pressure, the spring piece 246 on the second ring portion 242 is prevented from undergoing plastic deformation due to excessive pressing by the adjacent fixed ring 25. This reduces the probability that the spring piece 246 will be damaged, causing the first inner wall surface 114 and the second inner wall surface 122 to fail to hold the conductive component 20, thereby improving the service life of the power connector 100.
[0035] When the power plug 300 is inserted into the power connector 100 provided in the embodiments of this application, the second side of the power plug 300 can abut against the inner wall of the guide ring 231. Guided by the guide ring 231 and pushed by the power plug 300, the conductive component 20 can be driven to move radially, thereby adjusting the position of the base and allowing the guide channel 232 to move from a position offset from the power plug 300 to a position aligned with the power plug 300. As the power plug 300 moves, it can pass through the guide channel 232, and it can maintain contact with the multiple elastic arms 241, thereby achieving an electrical connection between the power plug 300 and the power connector 100.
[0036] Clearly, by clamping the base with the first inner wall surface 114 and the second inner wall surface 122, the conductive component 20 can be kept fixed when aligned with the guide channel 232 of the power plug 300. If the power plug 300 deviates from the guide channel 232, the conductive component 20 can move under the push of the power plug 300, so that the conductive component 20 moves to align with the power plug 300. In this way, the dimensional and installation position errors of the power connector 100 and the power plug 300 can be reduced, thus minimizing the impact on the insertion of the power plug 300 and the power connector 100, and improving the convenience and stability of the connection between the power plug 300 and the power connector 100.
[0037] The above embodiments are preferred embodiments of the present invention, but not all embodiments. Any equivalent changes to the technical solutions of the present invention made by those skilled in the art through reading the present invention specification are covered by the claims of the present invention.
