Abstract
Description
Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to a switching method and a switching system, and in particular to an antenna switching method and an antenna switching system. Prior technology
[0002] For hardware products in different regions, the general practice is to use different software systems for hardware adaptation. In addition, in the maintenance of software systems, the general practice technique is to use different branches of software for isolated maintenance for differences in hardware. Although this acquisition technology can guarantee one-to-one independence of software and hardware, the fault tolerance rate is lower, and the release of multiple software versions with it for multiple hardware products in related product version releases significantly increases the complexity of version release and maintenance. Furthermore, this kind of learning technology is not conducive to version docking between the company and the customer, extremely easy to cause error problems in version release, thereby increasing the risk of customer application software version errors.
[0003] In addition, in response to updates to hardware antenna switching, general Xizhi technology requires relevant antenna hardware engineers and software engineers to jointly replan and configure for differences in antenna changes. In this way in the product iteration upgrade, the company needs to invest more R&D personnel and spend more communication and R&D time in the R&D process. Therefore, in the research and development and maintenance of related products, the cost will be greatly increased and the efficiency will be lower. In addition, customers will also generate poorer satisfaction with the company's R&D services. In view of this, the current market lacks an antenna switching method and antenna switching system that combines uniformity while improving fault tolerance and efficiency, can reduce the company's R&D costs and improve customer satisfaction. Invention content
[0004] The purpose of the invention is to provide an antenna switching method and antenna switching system that can meet the hardware differences of antenna switching during product iteration upgrade process, while covering the differences in hardware products in different regions, so that each product in different regions can get adaptively optimized network signal quality to solve the problems of re-burning software for different hardware configurations of Xizhi technology, inconvenient customer operation, lower fault tolerance, higher cost, lower efficiency and poor satisfaction.
[0005] According to one embodiment of the present invention, an antenna switching method is provided for an electronic device, the electronic device including a communication device and an antenna module, the antenna module being connected to the communication device and switched to an antenna configuration. The antenna switching method includes a processor of the communication device executing a software configuration step corresponding to hardware identification based on hardware identification code information to generate configuration software information corresponding to an antenna module, wherein the hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes, and the configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software, each configuration software corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes; the processor storing the hardware identification code information, the configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code into a memory of the communication device, wherein the current hardware identification code corresponds to the antenna configuration and is equal to one of the hardware identification codes; and the processor reading one of the configuration software corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes from the memory via a power-on operation, and initializing the communication device according to this configuration software.
[0006] According to another embodiment of the method of the present invention, an antenna switching method is provided for an electronic device, the electronic device including a communication device and an antenna module, the antenna module being connected to the communication device and being switched from a first antenna configuration to a second antenna configuration, the first antenna configuration and the second antenna configuration being different. The antenna switching method includes: updating a first hardware identification code information corresponding to a first antenna configuration to a second hardware identification code information corresponding to a second antenna configuration using a processor of a communication device, wherein the first hardware identification code information and the second hardware identification code information are different; executing a corresponding hardware identification software configuration step based on the second hardware identification code information to generate configuration software information for a corresponding antenna module, wherein the second hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes, and the configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software, each corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes; storing the second hardware identification code information, the configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code in a memory of the communication device, wherein the current hardware identification code corresponds to the second antenna configuration and is equal to one of the hardware identification codes; and reading one of the configuration software corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes from the memory via a power-on operation, and initializing the communication device based on this configuration software.
[0007] According to one embodiment of the structural configuration of the present invention, an antenna switching system is provided, comprising an antenna module and a communication device. The antenna module is switched to an antenna configuration. The communication device is connected to the antenna module and includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores hardware identification code information, configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code, wherein the hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes, and the configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software, each of which corresponds to one of the hardware identification codes. The current hardware identification code corresponds to the antenna configuration and is equal to one of the hardware identification codes. The processor is connected to the memory and receives the hardware identification code information. The processor executes a software configuration step corresponding to the hardware identification based on the hardware identification code information to generate configuration software information corresponding to one of the antenna modules. The processor reads one of the configuration software corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes from the memory through a power-on operation and initializes the communication device based on this configuration software.
[0008] Therefore, the antenna switching method and system of this invention can use the same version of software under different hardware configurations, and can dynamically and flexibly load the configuration software corresponding to the antenna hardware by modifying specific memory. This effectively handles situations where the type and location of external antennas on the hardware are not fixed, making it highly suitable for applications requiring different antenna configurations in different regions and for configuration changes during product iteration upgrades. Furthermore, the hardware identification code and configuration software configuration can be further expanded or reduced based on the actual situation of the current hardware, which not only facilitates customer operation and avoids software re-burning, but also improves fault tolerance, conforms to uniformity, reduces costs, and increases efficiency, thereby improving customer satisfaction. Implementation
[0010] The following describes several embodiments of the present invention with reference to the drawings. In this document, when an element is "connected" to another element, it can mean that the element is directly connected to the other element, or that the element is indirectly connected to the other element, meaning that there is another element between the element and the other element. The terms "first," "second," and "third," etc., are only used to describe different elements and do not limit the elements themselves; therefore, the first element can also be referred to as the second element.
[0011] Please refer to Figure 1, which is a schematic diagram illustrating an antenna switching system 100 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The antenna switching system 100 includes an antenna module 200 and a communication device 300. The antenna module 200 is switched to an antenna configuration. The communication device 300 is connected to the antenna module 200 and includes a memory 310 and a processor 320. The memory 310 stores hardware identification code information, configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code. The hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes. The configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software programs, each corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes. The current hardware identification code corresponds to an antenna configuration and is equal to one of the hardware identification codes. The processor 320 is connected to the memory 310 and receives the hardware identification code information. The processor 320 executes a corresponding hardware identification software configuration step based on the hardware identification code information to generate configuration software information corresponding to one of the antenna modules 200. The processor 320 reads one of the configuration software corresponding to the hardware identification codes in the memory 310 through a boot-up operation, and initializes the communication device 300 according to the configuration software.
[0012] Antenna module 200 includes a first antenna tuner 210 and a second antenna tuner 220. The first antenna tuner 210 is connected to the communication device 300 and electrically connected to a plurality of first antennas ant11, ant12, ant13, and ant14. The second antenna tuner 220 is connected to the communication device 300 and electrically connected to a plurality of second antennas ant21, ant22, ant23, and ant24. The first antenna tuner 210 is a receive (DRX) antenna switch to receive signals from one of the first antennas ant11, ant12, ant13, and ant14. The second antenna tuner 220 is a transmit (TRX) antenna switch to receive or transmit signals from one of the second antennas ant21, ant22, ant23, and ant24. The antenna configuration corresponds to the multiple switching states of the first antenna tuner 210 and the second antenna tuner 220.
[0013] This invention can be applied to communication products containing radio frequency card (RFC) parameters. In one embodiment, memory 310 may be a non-volatile (NV) memory, and this NV memory may be static NV memory. Communication device 300 may be a modem and run a Linux operating system. However, this invention is not limited to the above.
[0014] Please refer to Figure 1, Table 1, and Table 2. Table 1 shows the switching states of the first antenna tuner 210 when applied to multiple antennas; and Table 2 shows the switching states of the second antenna tuner 220 when applied to multiple antennas. The switching states in Tables 1 and 2 ensure that only one antenna remains on for the same antenna tuner (for example, only one of the four first antennas ant11, ant12, ant13, and ant14 in Table 1 will be on, represented by "1". The other three will be off, represented by "0"), thus preventing leakage of the relevant antenna signal power. Based on these defined switching states and the current hardware configuration, developers (such as antenna engineers) can test the transmit (TX) antenna power and the receive (RX) antenna's reference signal receiving power (RSRP), received signal strength indication (RSSI), and reference signal receiving quality (RSRQ). They can also use various practical test parameters, such as block error rate (BLER) and throughput tests, as well as over-the-air (OTA) voice communication, to select the group with the best signal quality from multiple antenna switching states as the default antenna state, thus ensuring the performance advantage of the current hardware. [0015] Please refer to Figure 1, Tables 1, 2, and 3. Table 3 displays hardware identification code information (Hardware Identification (HWID) configuration relationship table for antenna module 200). Processor 320 defines hardware identification code information based on all possible multiple antenna configurations corresponding to antenna module 200. The number of these antenna configurations is equal to the number of these hardware identification codes and the number of these configuration software programs. For example, in Table 3, the number of antenna configurations is 16 (under the condition that only one antenna of the same antenna tuner remains on, the number of all possible antenna configurations for the first antenna tuner 210 and the second antenna tuner 220 is 4×4=16), and the number of hardware identification codes and the number of configuration software programs are both equal to 16. In one embodiment, antenna engineers can adjust the configuration according to the actual debugging conditions of different antenna configurations in different regions to meet the configuration requirements of the current region. Subsequently, a fixed hardware identification code can be directly written to the NV memory. The communication device 300 will load the corresponding configuration software during the power-on operation, so that the same version of software can load the relevant system software under different hardware configuration conditions, thereby providing the entire RF device related devices and communication services. [0016] Please refer to Figures 1 and 2 together, where Figure 2 is a flowchart illustrating the antenna switching method S0 of the second embodiment of the present invention. The antenna switching method S0 is used in an electronic device (such as an antenna switching system 100), the electronic device including a communication device 300 and an antenna module 200, the antenna module 200 being connected to the communication device 300 and switched to an antenna configuration. The antenna switching method S0 includes steps S02, S04, and S06. Step S02 includes executing a software configuration step corresponding to hardware identification by a processor 320 of the communication device 300 based on hardware identification code information, to generate configuration software information corresponding to an antenna module 200. The hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes, and the configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software, each corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes. Step S04 includes storing the hardware identification code information, the configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code in a memory 310 of the communication device 300 by the processor 320. The current hardware identification code corresponds to the antenna configuration and is equal to one of these hardware identification codes. Step S06 includes reading one of the configuration software corresponding to the hardware identification code from memory 310 via a power-on operation by processor 320, and initializing communication device 300 according to the configuration software.
[0017] Therefore, the antenna switching system 100 and antenna switching method S0 of the present invention can use the same version of software under different hardware configurations, which not only facilitates customer operation and avoids software re-burning, but also improves fault tolerance, conforms to uniformity, reduces costs and increases efficiency, thereby improving customer satisfaction.
[0018] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3, and Table 3. Figure 3 is a flowchart illustrating the software configuration step S022 corresponding to hardware identification in step S02 of Figure 2. The software configuration step S022 corresponding to hardware identification includes steps S022a, S022b, S022c, S022d, and S022e. Step S022a involves the processor 320 sorting out the corresponding antenna tuner configuration and hardware identification code information (as shown in Table 3) according to requirements. Step S022b involves the processor 320 configuring the corresponding antenna tuner's drive code based on the hardware identification code information and the specifications (such as datasheet) of one of the antenna tuners in the antenna module 200. The antenna tuner is one of the first antenna tuner 210 and the second antenna tuner 220. Step S022c is the configuration confirmation step, which includes the processor 320 confirming whether the configuration of these hardware identification codes and these configuration software (configuration of hardware identification code information) is complete, generating a confirmation result, and determining whether to execute steps S022d and S022e based on the confirmation result. Step S022d is the physical code configuration step for the corresponding antenna tuner, which includes the processor 320 configuring a physical code for the corresponding antenna tuner based on the hardware identification code information and specifications. Step S022e is the path code configuration step for the corresponding antenna tuner, which includes the processor 320 configuring a path code for the corresponding antenna tuner based on the hardware identification code information, specifications, and driver code. The path code can represent the switching state of the antenna tuner for the TRX / DRX path. In addition, after step S022e is executed, the processor 320 repeats step S022c to generate a confirmation result again. When the confirmation result is yes, the processor 320 ends the corresponding hardware identification software configuration step S022; otherwise, when the confirmation result is no, the processor 320 repeats steps S022d and S022e.
[0019] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, and 4 together. Figure 4 is a flowchart illustrating the initialization process of the communication device 300 in Figure 1 during a power-on operation. When the communication device 300 executes step S06, step S06 further includes steps S062, S064, and S066. Step S062 includes performing a power-on operation. Step S064 includes the processor 320 selecting the configuration software corresponding to the current hardware identifier of the NV memory, so that the configuration software matches the antenna configuration. Step S066 includes the processor 320 initializing the communication device 300 according to the configuration software. These configuration software programs correspond to a plurality of software identifiers (RFC(hwid 1), RFC(hwid 2), ..., RFC(hwid n)), where n is a positive integer equal to the number of hardware identifiers (HWID).
[0020] Furthermore, before the communication device 300 executes step S06, the version of the software containing all configured hardware identification information is burned into the communication device 300 for later use. After the communication device 300 executes step S06 (i.e., after successful initialization), the antenna switching system 100 provides communication-related services for subsequent modules and ensures that the communication services are usable.
[0021] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 4, 5, and Table 3. Figure 5 is another flowchart illustrating the initialization process of the communication device 300 in Figure 1 after power-on. When the communication device 300 executes step S06, step S06 further includes steps S062, S064a, and S066a. Step S062 includes performing a power-on operation. Step S064a includes confirming whether the processor 320 has successfully selected the configuration software corresponding to the current hardware identification code of the NV memory (such as "HWID: 001", "HWID: 002", ..., "HWID: 016", which correspond to the HWID in Table 3), so that the configuration software matches the antenna configuration. If successful, the communication device 300 is initialized according to the configuration software; if it fails, it indicates that the communication device 300 is malfunctioning. Step S066a includes confirming whether the processor 320 has successfully initialized the communication device 300. If successful, it means that the communication device 300 is normal; if it fails, it means that the communication device 300 is abnormal.
[0022] Please refer to Figures 1 and 6 together, where Figure 6 is a schematic diagram illustrating the antenna switching system 100a according to the third embodiment of the present invention. The antenna switching system 100a includes an antenna module 200a and a communication device 300. The antenna module 200a has a first antenna configuration. The communication device 300 is connected to the antenna module 200a and includes a memory 310 and a processor 320. The antenna module 200a includes a first antenna tuner 210a and a second antenna tuner 220a. The first antenna tuner 210a is connected to the communication device 300 and electrically connected to a plurality of first antennas ant11 and ant12. The first antenna tuner 210a is a receive (DRX) antenna switch for receiving signals from one of the first antennas ant11 and ant12. The second antenna tuner 220a is a transceiver (TRX) antenna switch for receiving or transmitting signals from one of the second antennas ant21 and ant22. The antenna configuration corresponds to the multiple switching states of the first antenna tuner 210a and the second antenna tuner 220a. As for the communication device 300 in Figure 6, it is the same as the communication device 300 in Figure 1, and its details will not be repeated.
[0023] The antenna switching system 100a in Figure 6 corresponds to the first antenna configuration, and the antenna switching system 100 in Figure 1 corresponds to the second antenna configuration. In one embodiment, the electronic device can be switched from the first antenna configuration in Figure 6 to the second antenna configuration in Figure 1, where the first antenna configuration and the second antenna configuration are different. The following will describe the process details of the antenna switching method S2 for switching from the first antenna configuration to the second antenna configuration.
[0024] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 6, 7, Table 3, and Table 4. Figure 7 is a flowchart illustrating the antenna switching method S2 of the fourth embodiment of the present invention; and Table 4 displays a first hardware identification code (HWID) corresponding to the configuration relationship table of antenna module 200a in Figure 6). Table 3 can be considered as a second hardware identification code (HWID) corresponding to the configuration relationship table of antenna module 200 in Figure 1). The antenna switching method S2 in Figure 7 includes steps S22, S24, S26, and S28. Step S22 includes updating the first hardware identification code information (as shown in Table 4) corresponding to the first antenna configuration to the second hardware identification code information (as shown in Table 3) corresponding to the second antenna configuration using the processor 320. The first hardware identification code information and the second hardware identification code information are different. Step S24 includes the processor 320 executing a software configuration step corresponding to hardware identification based on the second hardware identification code information to generate configuration software information corresponding to one of the antenna modules 200. The second hardware identification code information includes a plurality of hardware identification codes, and the configuration software information includes a plurality of configuration software, each corresponding to one of the hardware identification codes. Step S26 includes the processor 320 storing the second hardware identification code information, the configuration software information, and a current hardware identification code into memory 310. The current hardware identification code corresponds to the second antenna configuration and is equal to one of the hardware identification codes. Step S28 includes the processor 320 reading one of the configuration software corresponding to the hardware identification code from memory 310 via a power-on operation, and initializing the communication device 300 based on this configuration software. Table 4 HWID First antenna tuner Second antenna tuner ant11 ant12 ant21 ant22 01 1 0 1 0 02 1 0 0 1 03 0 1 1 0 04 0 1 0 1
[0025] Therefore, the antenna switching method S2 of the present invention can further expand the hardware identification code and configuration software configuration according to the actual situation of the current hardware, and can use the same version of software under different hardware configurations. This not only facilitates customer operation and avoids software re-burning, but also improves fault tolerance, conformity, reduces costs and increases efficiency, thereby improving customer satisfaction.
[0026] In other embodiments, the electronic device can switch from the second antenna configuration in Figure 1 to the first antenna configuration in Figure 6, and dynamically and flexibly load the configuration software using the equivalent concept of the antenna switching method S2 in Figure 7, which can further reduce the hardware identification code and configuration software configuration according to the actual situation of the current hardware.
[0027] As can be seen from the above embodiments, the present invention has the following advantages: First, it can meet the hardware differences in antenna switching during product iteration and upgrades, and can also cover the differences in hardware products in different regions, so that products in different regions can obtain adaptively optimized network signal quality, thereby solving the problems of conventional technologies where different hardware configurations require re-programming software, customer operation is inconvenient, fault tolerance is low, cost is high, efficiency is low, and customer satisfaction is poor. Second, it can use the same version of software under different hardware configurations, and can dynamically and flexibly load the configuration software of the corresponding antenna hardware by modifying specific memory, which can effectively handle the situation where the type and position of external antennas on the hardware are not fixed, so it is quite suitable for the needs of different antenna configurations in different regions and configuration changes during product iteration and upgrades. Third, the hardware identification code and configuration software configuration can be further expanded or reduced according to the actual situation of the current hardware, which not only facilitates customer operation and avoids software re-programming, but also improves fault tolerance, conforms to uniformity, reduces costs and increases efficiency, thereby improving customer satisfaction.
