Abstract

The present invention discloses a multi-stage peak location detection method for satellite communications. The method comprises decomposing a joint / full three-dimensional search space into a plurality of lower-dimensional separate search spaces; performing peak location detection in each separate search space with a multi-stage process using progressively decreasing step sizes; and executing angular hopping during the peak location detection to avoid the effect of power dead zones, thereby achieving beam alignment with a target satellite while reducing the overall search number.
