AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for detecting and removing foreign objects from iron-based waste require manual operation for non-recyclable material removal and often lift unintended iron-based waste along with the target objects.

Method used

A system and method that uses a conveying device to lift and convey waste, detects foreign objects, determines their position, and controls the device to separate them from the waste by dropping them into different locations, reducing accidental removal of waste.

Benefits of technology

Automatically separates foreign objects from waste, minimizing the amount of unintended waste removal and enhancing efficiency in iron-based waste processing.

Abstract

A foreign matter separation system, a foreign matter separation method, a program, and a computer-readable recording medium storing the program are provided to reduce the amount of waste accidentally removed along with foreign objects in a waste group. The foreign matter separation system (1) includes: a conveying device (20) that lifts and conveys a portion of a waste group (SS); a conveyed waste foreign matter detection means (30) that detects foreign objects (D) in the waste group (SS) lifted by the conveying device (20); and a control device (40) that, when foreign objects (D) are detected in the lifted waste group (SS) by the conveyed waste foreign matter detection means (30), determines the position of the foreign objects in the lifted waste group (SS), and controls the conveying device (20) to drop the waste (S) and foreign objects (D) in the lifted waste group (SS) to different locations based on the determined position of the foreign objects (D).
