1. A filter rod for a smoking article, comprising a first filter rod portion located at a proximal end; and a second filter rod portion located at a distal end, wherein the first filter rod portion includes 2 to 4 holes; the length of the first filter rod portion is 5 mm to 12 mm and the length of the second filter rod portion is 15 mm to 22 mm; wherein the second filter rod portion has perforations and the filter paper of the second filter rod portion is porous; and the shortest distance from the outer wall of the filter rod to the hole is more than 0.7 mm and less than 1.3 mm.
2. The filter rod for a smoking article as described in claim 1, wherein the first filter rod portion includes three of the holes.
3. The filter rod for smoking articles as described in claim 1, wherein the pore diameter is more than 1 mm and less than 2 mm.
4. The filter rod for smoking articles as described in claim 1, wherein the total length of the filter rod is 25 mm to 30 mm.
5. The filter rod for smoking articles as described in claim 1, wherein the first filter rod portion is a cellulose filter rod or a polymer molded filter rod.
6. The filter rod for smoking articles as described in claim 1, wherein the circumference of the filter rod is more than 15 mm and less than 25 mm.
7. The filter rod for smoking articles as described in claim 1, wherein the inhalation resistance of the filter rod is above 50 mmH2O / Tip and below 150 mmH2O / Tip.
8. A smoking article comprising a filter rod for a smoking article as described in any one of claims 1 to 7.
