Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] This invention relates to a slide rail device, and more particularly to a slide rail device with a stopping function. [Previous Technology]
[0002] An existing slide rail device, installed in a server rack, can be installed on a server chassis. The slide rail device includes an outer rail, a middle rail movably installed on the outer rail, an inner rail movably installed on the middle rail, a pair of stops located between the outer and middle rails at one end of the outer rail, and a pair of sliding aids located between the outer and middle rails. The inner rail is installed on the server chassis. When the server chassis needs maintenance, it needs to be pulled out, placing the slide rail device in an extended state, i.e., the inner rail extends relative to the middle rail, and the middle rail extends relative to the outer rail. In the extended state, the sliding aids move with the middle rail and eventually abut against the stops, preventing the middle rail from detaching from the outer rail during extension. With prolonged use, repeated impacts between the sliding aids and the stops may cause deformation, bending, or even damage. Therefore, there is room for improvement. [Summary of the Invention]
[0003] Therefore, one object of the present invention is to provide a slide rail device that can solve at least one of the above-mentioned problems.
[0004] The slide rail device of the present invention includes a first slide rail unit, including a first slide rail having a stop block; and a second slide rail unit, including a second slide rail movably disposed on the first slide rail and a reinforcing member disposed on the second slide rail, the reinforcing member having at least a body portion extending along the second slide rail and a stop portion protruding from the body portion, the stop portion being able to engage with the stop block.
[0005] In some embodiments, the second slide rail is movable relative to the first slide rail between an initial position and an extended position. In the initial position, the body portion of the reinforcing member does not protrude from the first slide rail and the stop portion is spaced apart from the stop block. In the extended position, a portion of the body portion protrudes from the first slide rail and the stop portion abuts against the stop block.
[0006] In some embodiments, the first slide rail includes a first base plate and two first side walls formed on the upper and lower sides of the first base plate. The first base plate has a first end. The first slide rail unit also includes two ball bearings respectively movably disposed on the first side walls and two stop supports respectively fixedly disposed on the first side walls and adjacent to the first end. The second slide rail unit also includes two push supports respectively disposed on the upper and lower sides of the second slide rail. When the second slide rail moves relative to the first slide rail toward the first end, the push supports can drive the ball bearings to move. In the unfolded position, the ball bearings abut against the stop supports.
[0007] In some embodiments, the first base plate further has a sliding surface facing the second slide rail, the stop block is formed on the sliding surface, the second slide rail has a first surface facing the sliding surface, and the reinforcing member is disposed on the first surface.
[0008] In some embodiments, the reinforcing member has a plurality of body portions arranged at intervals along the second slide rail, and the stop portion protrudes from one of the body portions.
[0009] The slide rail device of the present invention includes a first slide rail unit, including a first slide rail having a stop block; a second slide rail unit, including a second slide rail movably disposed on the first slide rail and a reinforcing member disposed on the second slide rail, the reinforcing member having at least a body portion extending along the second slide rail and a stop portion protruding from the body portion, the stop portion being able to engage with the stop block; and a third slide rail movably disposed on the second slide rail.
[0010] In some embodiments, the second slide rail is movable relative to the first slide rail between an initial position and an extended position. In the initial position, the body portion of the reinforcing member does not protrude from the first slide rail and the stop portion is spaced apart from the stop block. In the extended position, a portion of the body portion protrudes from the first slide rail and the stop portion abuts against the stop block.
[0011] In some embodiments, the first slide rail includes a first base plate and two first side walls formed on the upper and lower sides of the first base plate. When the second slide rail moves toward the first end relative to the first slide rail, the push supports can drive the ball bearings to move. In the unfolded position, the ball bearings abut against the stop supports.
[0012] In some embodiments, the first base plate further has a sliding surface facing the second slide rail, the stop block is formed on the sliding surface, the second slide rail has a first surface facing the sliding surface, and the reinforcing member is disposed on the first surface.
[0013] In some embodiments, the reinforcing member has a plurality of body portions arranged at intervals along the second slide rail, and the stop portion protrudes from one of the body portions.
[0014] The present invention has at least the following effects: by the stop portion of the reinforcing member abutting against the stop block, the length of the second slide rail extending relative to the first slide rail can be limited, and at the same time, the body portion of the reinforcing member can increase the overall structural strength of the second slide rail unit and reduce the risk of deformation, bending or even damage of the second slide rail.

[0019] In the description of this invention, unless otherwise explicitly limited, terms such as setting, installing, and connecting should be interpreted broadly, and those skilled in the art can reasonably determine the specific meaning of the above terms in this invention in conjunction with the specific content of the technical solution.
[0020] Referring to Figures 1 to 3, a first embodiment of the slide rail device 10 of the present invention is suitable for installation in a server rack (not shown) and can be installed in a server chassis (not shown). The slide rail device 10 includes a first slide rail unit 1, a second slide rail unit 2 and a third slide rail 3.
[0021] Referring to Figures 2 to 4, the first slide rail unit 1 includes a first slide rail 11, which includes a first base plate 111 and two first sidewalls 112 formed on the upper and lower sides of the first base plate 111. The first base plate 111 has a first end 111a, a second end 111b opposite to the first end 111a, and a sliding surface 111c facing the second slide rail unit 2. The sliding surface 111c forms a stop block 12. The first slide rail unit 1 also includes two ball bearings 13 that are movably disposed on the first sidewalls 112 and two stop supports 14 that are fixedly disposed on the first sidewalls 112 and adjacent to the first end 111a.
[0022] Referring to Figures 3, 5 to 7, the second slide rail unit 2 includes a second slide rail 21 movably disposed on the first slide rail 11, a reinforcing member 22 disposed on the second slide rail 21, and two pushing support members 23 respectively disposed on the upper and lower sides of the second slide rail 21. The second slide rail 21 has a first surface 211 facing the sliding surface 111c and a second surface 212 facing the third slide rail 3 opposite to the first surface 211. The reinforcing member 22 is made of a high-hardness metal material and is generally rectangular in shape. It is disposed on the first surface 211 and has a body portion 221 extending along the second slide rail 21 and a stop portion 222 protruding from the body portion 221. The stop portion 222 can be engaged with the stop block 12. The third slide rail 3 is movably disposed on the second slide rail 21 and can be installed in the server chassis (not shown).
[0023] Referring to Figures 3, 6 to 8, the second slide rail 21 is movable relative to the first slide rail 11 between an initial position and an extended position. In the initial position, the body portion 221 of the reinforcing member 22 does not protrude from the first slide rail 11, and the stop portion 222 is spaced apart from the stop block 12. The pushing support members 23 are adjacent to the second end 111b and spaced apart from the ball bearings 13. When the second slide rail 21 moves relative to the first slide rail 11 toward the first end 111a, the pushing support members 23 can drive the ball bearings 13 to move, eventually reaching the extended position. In the unfolded position, a portion of the main body 221 protrudes from the first slide rail 11, and the stop portion 222 engages with the stop block 12. The ball bearings 13 abut against the stop support members 14, preventing the second slide rail 21 from moving out of the first slide rail 11 and separating from it. By providing the reinforcing member 22 to the second slide rail 21, the overall structural strength of the second slide rail unit 2 is increased, reducing the risk of deformation, bending, or even damage to the second slide rail 21. Furthermore, by engaging the stop portion 222 with the stop block 12, when the second slide rail 21 is pulled out relative to the first slide rail 11 by an external force in the unfolded state, the stop portion 222 can share the abutting reaction force between the ball bearings 13 and the stop support members 14, reducing the risk of deformation or damage to the ball bearings 13.
[0024] Referring to Figures 9 to 12, a second embodiment of the slide rail device 10 of the present invention is similar to the first embodiment, except that the reinforcing member 22' is different. The reinforcing member 22' has three body portions 221' arranged at intervals, and the stop portion 222' is formed in one of the body portions 221'. The gap between the body portions 221' is an inclined straight line, so that the middle body portion 221' is approximately trapezoidal in shape, and the body portions 221' can be approximately spliced into a rectangular plate shape, but this is not a limitation. Similarly, in the unfolded position, a portion of the middle body portion 221' protrudes from the first slide rail 11 and the stop portion 222 abuts against the stop block 12, and the ball strips 13 (see Figure 8) abut against the stop support members 14 to prevent the second slide rail 21 from moving out of the first slide rail 11 and separating from the first slide rail 11. By providing the reinforcing member 22' to the second slide rail 21, the overall structural strength of the second slide rail unit 2 can be increased, reducing the risk of deformation, bending, or even damage to the second slide rail 21. Furthermore, by having the stop portion 222' engage with the stop block 12, when the second slide rail 21 is in the unfolded state and is pulled out relative to the first slide rail 11 by an external force, the stop portion 222' can share the abutting reaction force between the ball bearings 13 and the stop support members 14, reducing the risk of deformation or damage to the ball bearings 13.
[0025] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the foregoing embodiments and does not necessarily include the first slide rail unit 1, the second slide rail unit 2, and the third slide rail 3. In other embodiments, only the first slide rail unit 1 and the second slide rail unit 2 may be included, without the third slide rail 3, while the server chassis (not shown) is disposed on the second slide rail 21. In other embodiments, the reinforcing member 22' may have multiple body portions 221' arranged at intervals along the second slide rail 21, and is not limited to the implementation of the three body portions 221' described above.
[0026] In summary, the slide rail device 10 of the present invention, by having the stopping portions 222 and 222' of the reinforcing members 22 and 22' abut against the stopping block 12, can limit the length of the second slide rail 21 extending relative to the first slide rail 11. At the same time, the body portions 221 and 221' of the reinforcing members 22 and 22' can increase the overall structural strength of the second slide rail unit 2 and reduce the risk of deformation, bending or even damage of the second slide rail 21. Therefore, the purpose of the present invention can indeed be achieved.
[0027] However, the above description is only an embodiment of the present invention and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present invention. Any simple equivalent changes and modifications made in accordance with the scope of the patent application and the contents of the patent specification shall still fall within the scope of the patent of the present invention.
