[0001] This invention relates to a stock selection editing technology for financial product quotation programs applied on computers or mobile devices, and particularly to a device, method, and computer program product for handling excessive stock selections. [Previous Technology]
[0002] "Selected stocks" or "selected products" refer to a group of stocks or financial products that investors choose from the stock market or financial markets based on their personal preferences and investment strategies. These stocks or financial products are usually placed in a custom watchlist (i.e., a watchlist / custom watchlist) so that investors can easily track and monitor their price movements, trading volumes, and other relevant quotes. A watchlist helps investors focus only on the products they are interested in from a large number of stocks / products.
[0003] Currently, financial quote software or order placement software on computers, smart TVs, or smartphones provide a custom quote view to display the quotes of products in a custom list, which typically contains multiple groups. For example, prior art, Republic of China Patent Publication No. I710252, discloses an "apparatus and method for adding audio and video channels to a TV version custom group," which includes: establishing a connection with a server; adding at least one of a plurality of financial products or at least one of a plurality of audio and video channels to at least one custom group of a stock watchlist according to a new custom order instruction; uploading the stock watchlist to the server; and downloading corresponding quote information from the server based on the financial product included in the custom group of the stock watchlist. A custom quote view is generated and displayed on a screen. The custom quote view includes a quote box corresponding to the number of financial products in the custom group and a video playback box corresponding to the number of audio and video channels. Each quote box corresponds to one financial product to present the quote information of the financial product, and each video playback box corresponds to one audio and video channel to present the audio and video channel. A zoom command is received to zoom in on the video playback box on the screen. The display position of one of the quote boxes is automatically adjusted to match the zoom of the video playback box. If it does, the excess quantity handling mechanism is activated, allowing the user to directly handle the problem of excess self-selected groups in the same operation process of adding a self-selected item when editing self-selected items.

Implementation Method

The custom editing and overload handling module 24 checks the upper limit (a system default value) and the current quantity corresponding to each selection group; in some embodiments, the upper limit and current quantity corresponding to each custom group are displayed in the selection group element 34, so that the user can clearly understand the quantity of custom items contained in each custom group (i.e., the current quantity), whether the system default upper limit (i.e., the upper limit quantity) has been reached, which custom group has the most custom items, which custom group has the fewest custom items, etc. The custom editing and overload handling module 24 will determine whether the quantity of the custom group has reached the upper limit and take different corresponding actions. When a user-selected group has not reached its maximum limit and does not contain the desired new financial product, the user-selected editing and over-limit processing module 24 displays a corresponding selection button 36 (e.g., a check box, or a radio button; clicking this generates a command to set the target group) at the location corresponding to that user-selected group. Based on this, different marking actions will be performed on the corresponding user-selected group. This is the over-limit processing mechanism of this invention.One of the over-limit handling mechanisms of the present invention is as follows: When a user-selected group has reached the system limit and contains a financial product to be added, the user-selected editing and over-limit handling module 24 displays a corresponding duplicate product label 40 at the position corresponding to the user-selected group (to indicate that the user-selected group already has the same financial product). Another over-limit handling mechanism of the present invention is as follows: When a user-selected group has reached the system limit and does not contain a financial product to be added, the user-selected editing and over-limit handling module 24 displays a corresponding replacement product button 38 at the position corresponding to the user-selected group (clicking this button generates a replacement product instruction, used to switch the display of the replacement product view 42 to set the "existing user-selected product to be replaced") and does not display the selection button 36 (when the user-selected group has reached the limit, it can only be added by the replacement product button 38).
