Abstract

A shunt resistor includes a resistive element, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The resistive element is a quadrilateral plate, and its vertical sides include a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side. The first and second sides are parallel to each other, and the areas of the first and second sides are both larger than the areas of the third and fourth sides. The first electrode is attached to the first side and has two positioning holes for secure mounting. The tail end of the first electrode has a stepped or beveled structure. The second electrode is attached to the second side. The thickness of the resistive element is less than the thickness of both the first and second electrodes. With this structure, the shunt resistor of the present invention is suitable for sensing high currents or high-speed switching environments.
