Textbook on understanding carbon footprint

Abstract

This invention provides a teaching material for understanding carbon footprint, comprising: a booklet, a globe model, and multiple footprint magnetic tags. The booklet uses text pages and corresponding pictures to explain the greenhouse gas emissions generated by a product during its raw material, manufacturing, transportation and sales, use, and disposal stages. A proportional number of footprint magnetic tags are pre-arranged on the booklet pages, based on the amount of greenhouse gases produced at each stage. After the instructor explains each page, young learners independently place the footprint magnetic tags onto the surface of the globe model, gradually covering the model. This process teaches young learners about the generation of greenhouse gases and the concept of carbon footprint.

Claims

1. A teaching material for understanding carbon footprints, comprising a booklet, a globe model, and multiple magnetic footprint-shaped tags, wherein: The surface of the Earth model is printed with a world map to make it look like an Earth. The inner layer of the Earth model has a magnetic layer that is magnetic and can be attracted to magnetic materials such as magnets and iron. The plurality of footprint magnetic plates are made in the shape of footprints. They are plate-shaped and have magnetic properties that can be attracted to magnetic materials such as magnets and iron. This reader is a book with multiple pages, including picture pages and text pages depicting the processes of a product, namely, the raw material stage, manufacturing stage, transportation and sales stage, usage stage, and disposal stage. When the reader is opened, one side has picture pages, and the other side has text pages corresponding to the pictures. The picture pages contain pictures, and the text pages contain corresponding text descriptions of the pictures. The structure of the reader pages for each stage, such as the raw material stage, manufacturing stage, transportation and sales stage, usage stage, and disposal stage, includes a magnetic book layer in the middle, and a first covering layer and a second covering layer that cover the magnetic book layer. Multiple grooves are formed between the first or second covering layer and the magnetic book layer, and footprint magnetic pieces can be embedded in these grooves. The footprint magnetic pieces can be magnetically attracted to the magnetic book layer and will not fall off. The footprint magnetic pieces on each reader page can be removed and moved to a globe model, where they will be magnetically attracted.

The page on Earth's improved state (pictures) shows an image of the Earth showing improvements in global warming, and the page on Earth's improved state (text) provides a textual description of the image on the page on Earth's improved state (pictures).

10. The teaching material on understanding carbon footprint as described in claim 1 also includes a support frame on which a model of the Earth is assembled and can rotate relative to the support frame.
