Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] This disclosure relates to a powder applicator. [Previous Technology]
[0002] Various bleeding situations may occur during the operation. For bleeding of a large amount, sutures, clips, and staplers are used first. For bleeding of a small amount, sheets, gauze, powders, and gel-type hemostatic agents can be used to assist in hemostasis.
[0003] Unlike other types of hemostatic agents, powder hemostatic agents are used in an applicator, thus allowing them to be used for bleeding in deep and narrow areas that are difficult to reach by hand. Furthermore, due to the lack of shape limitations, they have the advantage of being applicable to various areas regardless of the location and size of the bleeding. However, because of the lack of shape limitations, in order to accurately apply the powder hemostatic agent to the affected area, it must be used in a powder spray applicator.
[0004] For these powder spray applicators, the amount used must be adjusted according to the amount and area of bleeding, so they must be able to spray multiple times and the amount of spray must be consistent so that the user can predict how much powder to use.
[0005] The purpose of this disclosure is to provide a powder applicator that can perform multiple sprays while improving the uniformity of powder spraying amount and the accuracy of spraying timing.
[0006] The technical problems disclosed herein are not limited to the above-mentioned technical problems. Other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the following description.
[0007] According to the first aspect of the powder applicator disclosed herein, it includes: an air reservoir including a first body and a second body interconnected to each other, forming the outline of the powder applicator, the air reservoir being closed at both ends and filled therewith; a powder reservoir including a first sub-body disposed between the outlet through which the powder is discharged and the operating unit, disposed within the first body and including a space for powder to be filled therein, and an air supply passage formed in the portion of the first sub-body adjacent to the outlet and including at least one opening; a filter disposed relative to the air supply passage between the powder reservoir and the air reservoir, preventing powder movement between the powder reservoir and the air reservoir but allowing air movement; and an operating unit including a piston disposed within the powder reservoir and separating the space of the first sub-body.
[0008] In the powder applicator according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure, the operating unit may further include a second sub-body that at least partially overlaps with the powder reservoir and is slidably disposed relative to the powder reservoir.
[0009] In the powder applicator of the first or second embodiment of the present disclosure, the operating unit may further include a spring disposed between the piston and one end of the first body to apply pressure to the powder disposed in the powder reservoir through the piston.
[0010] In the powder applicator of the first or second embodiment of the present disclosure, the spring may have a spring force that brings the piston into close contact with one end face of the internal space of the powder reservoir.
[0011] In the powder applicator of the first or second embodiment of the present disclosure, the piston can be pressurized by the spring and can pressurize the powder so that there are no gaps in the internal space of the powder reservoir. The powder applicator of the first or second embodiment of the present disclosure may also include a blocking member coupled to the outlet to prevent the powder from contacting the external environment.
[0012] In the powder applicator of the first or second embodiment of the present invention, the air reservoir may further include a handle portion having a structure protruding outward from the first body, or include a handle portion formed as separate from the first body and coupled to one end of the first body.
[0013] In the powder applicator according to the first aspect of the present disclosure, when an external force is applied to the second body in one direction, the second body can contract in the direction of the first body, the air filled in the air reservoir can increase the pressure and be supplied to the powder reservoir through the air supply channel, and the piston can pressurize the powder filled in the powder reservoir.
[0014] In the powder applicator according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure, the first body and the second body may be disposed in at least partially overlapping arrangement, and the second body may be in the form of a corrugated tube with a corrugated fold structure.
[0015] In the powder applicator according to the second aspect of the present disclosure, when an external force is applied to the second body in one direction, the second body and the second sub-body can move toward the first body and the first sub-body respectively, and the air filled in the air reservoir can be pressurized and supplied to the powder reservoir through the air supply channel, and the piston can pressurize the powder filled in the powder reservoir.
[0016] In the powder applicator according to the second embodiment of the present invention, the first body and the second body may be disposed at least partially overlapping, the first body and the second body may each include a first stop portion and a second stop portion that engage with each other at adjacent ends, and the first body and the second body at least partially overlap and are slidable relative to each other.
[0017] In the powder applicator according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure, the air reservoir may further include a corrugated tube, which may be disposed between the first body and the second body and may have a structure that is corrugated in one direction.
[0018] Specific details of other embodiments are included in the detailed description and accompanying drawings.
[0019] According to the powder applicator of the present disclosure embodiment, the filled powder can be sprayed multiple times, while improving the uniformity of powder spraying amount and the accuracy of spraying timing.

Implementation Method
[0032] The advantages and features of this disclosure, as well as the methods of implementing them, will become more apparent from the embodiments described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, this disclosure is not limited to the embodiments disclosed herein, but may be embodied in many different forms, and these embodiments are provided merely to make the disclosure complete and to enable those skilled in the art to fully understand the scope of this disclosure, which is defined only by the scope of the claims.
[0033] Throughout the specification, the same element symbols denote the same components. The shapes, dimensions, proportions, angles, quantities, etc., disclosed in the accompanying drawings for illustrating embodiments are exemplary and do not limit this disclosure to the contents shown.
[0034] Although terms such as first and second are used to describe various components, the components are not limited by these terms. Therefore, the first component referred to herein can also be the second component within the technical concept disclosed herein.
[0035] The features of each embodiment disclosed herein can be combined or integrated in part or in whole, and there may be various technical connections. Each embodiment can be implemented independently of each other, or can be implemented in combination according to the relevant relationship.
[0036] The specific implementation details are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0037] FIG1 is a perspective view of a powder applicator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG2 is a side view of a powder applicator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG3 is a plan view of a powder applicator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG4 is an exploded view of a powder applicator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0038] First, to more clearly illustrate the technical concept of this disclosure, a coordinate system is described, consisting of a first direction (X), a second direction (Y) perpendicular to the first direction (X) and located in the same plane, and a third direction (Z) perpendicular to the plane of the first direction (X) and the second direction (Y). The first direction (X), the second direction (Y), and the third direction (Z) are intended to explain the directions in relation to the structure and operation of the powder applicator (10), and should be understood as relative directions; the implementation is not limited to the directions mentioned.
[0039] For example, when viewed from the front, the first direction (X) can represent the horizontal direction of the powder applicator (10), the second direction (Y) can represent the vertical direction of the powder applicator (10), and the third direction (Z) can represent the height direction of the powder applicator (10).
[0040] Referring to Figures 1 to 4, according to one embodiment, the powder applicator (10) may include an air reservoir (100), a powder reservoir (200), an operating unit (300), a filter (400), and an outlet (500), and may optionally additionally include an injection member (600) and / or a blocking member (700). In addition, the powder applicator (10) may also include a plurality of seals (PM1, PM2, PM3, PM4) to provide airtightness between the components.
[0041] For example, the powder applicator (10) may include: an air reservoir (100) forming the main shape of the powder applicator (10) and a portion of its internal space being filled with air; a powder reservoir (200) disposed within the internal space of the air reservoir (100) and filled with powder; and an operating unit (300) that, when pressurized by an external force, slides along a third direction (Z) to the powder reservoir (200) and pressurizes the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), and when the external force is released, the operating unit (300) slides along a third direction (Z) to the powder reservoir (200) and pressurizes the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), and when the external force is released, slides along a third direction (Z) to the powder reservoir (200) and pressurizes the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200). Sliding in opposite directions in three directions (Z); a filter (400) disposed between the powder reservoir (200) and the air reservoir (100) and allowing airflow but blocking powder flow; an outlet (500) through which powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) is discharged by air pressure; an injection member (600) mounted on the outlet (500) and ejecting powder discharged from the outlet (500); and a blocking member (700) mounted on the outlet (500) instead of the injection member (600) to block powder discharge.
[0042] The air reservoir (100) may include a first body (110) and a second body (120). In the height direction (Z), the air reservoir (100) may have a structure in which the first body (110) is located at the top and the second body (120) is located at the bottom. The first body (110) and the second body (120) may slide relative to each other in the third direction (Z) by means of an external force applied in the third direction (Z).
[0043] The first body (110) and the second body (120) may be arranged along a third direction (Z) and may be configured to overlap at least partially. The first body (110) and the second body (120) may have a cylindrical shape, but are not limited thereto. For example, the first body (110) and the second body (120) may have an elliptical shape or a polygonal shape such as a triangle, square, or pentagon in the XY plane.
[0044] For example, the first body (110) may be completely transparent or partially transparent. Additionally, the first body (110) may be a shape with a constant diameter or formed as a tapered shape with a width varying in the third direction (Z). Furthermore, the second body (120) may be a corrugated pipe and may be a shape with a constant diameter or formed as a tapered corrugated pipe with a width varying in the third direction (Z).
[0045] The first body (110) and the second body (120) can be formed such that one body has a larger area in the XY plane than the other body, and therefore they can be configured such that the body having a larger area in the plane has a shape that surrounds at least a portion of the periphery of the other body.
[0046] For example, if the first body (110) and the second body (120) have cylindrical shapes, and the diameter of the second body (120) is larger than the diameter of the first body (110), then the upper part of the second body (120) may have a shape surrounding the lower part of the first body (110). The overlapping portion of the first body (110) and the second body (120) may be provided with a first seal (PM1). The first seal (PM1) may be an O-ring for airtightness of the overlapping portion of the first body (110) and the second body (120).
[0047] However, it is not limited to this. The diameter of the first body (110) can be made larger than the diameter of the second body (120), and the lower part of the first body (110) can have a shape surrounding the upper part of the second body (120). In this case, those skilled in the art will understand that some features (e.g., the position and size of the first stop (113), the second stop (122) and the first seal (PM1)) can be modified.
[0048] The first body (110) may include a first body portion (111) and a first coupling portion (112), and may optionally further include a first stop portion (113) and a handle portion (114). The first body portion (111) may constitute the main shape of the first body (110). The first coupling portion (112) has a structure with a discharge port (500) coupled to its outer surface, and may be formed on one end side of the first body portion (111) in a third direction (Z). For example, the first coupling portion (112) may have a shape that protrudes from the first body portion (111) in a third direction (Z), and may have a structure coupled to the discharge port (500).
[0049] As a specific embodiment, the first coupling part (112) may have threads formed on its outer surface to couple with the outlet (500) and threads formed on its inner surface to couple with the powder reservoir (200), but is not limited thereto, and the structure of the first coupling part (112) may be modified in various ways according to the structure of the outlet (500) and the powder reservoir (200).
[0050] The handle portion (114) may have a structure that supports the powder applicator (10) when the user uses the powder applicator (10) and applies an external force in a third direction (Z). The handle portion (114) may have a structure that protrudes from the side of the first body portion (111), or it may be configured to be separate from the first body portion (111) and coupled to one end of the first body portion (111).
[0051] For example, the handle portion (114) may have the shape of the number 1, which protrudes from the side of the first body portion (111) adjacent to the first coupling portion (112) in a second direction (Y) and its opposite direction, and intersects the first body portion (111) when viewed from a third direction (Z), and the portions protruding in the second direction (Y) and its opposite direction may be symmetrical or asymmetrical with each other. However, the shape of the handle portion (114) is not limited to this, and may have various shapes so that the user can support the powder applicator (10) in the third direction (Z).
[0052] A first stop (113) may be formed on the other end side of the first body portion (111) in the third direction (Z). The first stop (113) may have a shape in which the other end of the first body portion (111) protrudes outward along its side periphery. The first stop (113) is designed to engage with the second stop (122) of the second body (120), thereby preventing the first body (110) and the second body (120) from separating in the third direction (Z). The degree of protrusion of the first stop (113) may be determined according to the diameter difference between the first body (110) and the second body (120).
[0053] In this embodiment, since the diameter of the second body portion (121) is exemplified to be larger than the diameter of the first body portion (111), the first stop portion (113) is exemplified to protrude outward from the first body portion (111). However, if the diameter of the first body portion (111) is larger than the diameter of the second body portion (121), the first stop portion (113) may have a structure that protrudes inward from the first body portion (111). In this case, as described later, the second stop portion (122) may have a structure that protrudes outward from the second body portion (121).
[0054] The second body (120) includes a second body portion (121), and optionally further includes a second stop portion (122) and a support structure (123). The second body portion (121) may form the main shape of the second body (120). The second stop portion (122) and the support structure (123) may be formed on the second body portion (121).
[0055] The second stop (122) may be formed on one end of the second body part (121) in the third direction (Z). The second stop (122) may have a shape in which one end of the second body part (121) protrudes inward along the side periphery. The second stop (122) may be configured to interlock with the first stop (113). The second stop (122) may be deformed according to the structure of the first stop (113).
[0056] The support structure (123) may be formed on the inner surface of the other end of the second body part (121) in the third direction (Z). The support structure (123) may be a structure for fixing the operating unit (300). For example, the support structure (123) may protrude inward from the other end of the second body part (121) (along the third direction (Z)) and may have an O-shape when viewed from the third direction (Z). The outer diameter of the support structure (123) may be set such that the second sub-body (310) of the operating unit (300) is interlocked and fixed. In addition, the inner diameter of the support structure (123) may be set such that the spring (330) of the operating unit (300) is arranged inside it.
[0057] The first body (110) and the second body (120) of the air reservoir (100) form the main shape of the powder applicator (10), and the air reservoir (100) may house a powder reservoir (200) and an operating unit (300). The space inside the air reservoir (100) other than the space where the powder reservoir (200) and the operating unit (300) are housed may be filled with air.
[0058] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, when the first body (110) and the second body (120) slide relative to each other due to an external force applied in the third direction (Z), the volume of the internal space of the air reservoir (100) may decrease, thereby increasing the pressure of the air filled in the internal space.
[0059] According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in Figures 14 to 17, when an external force is applied to the second body (120” or 120”) in one direction, the second body (120” or 120”) contracts in the direction of the first body (110” or 110”), the air pressure in the air reservoir (100) increases and is supplied to the powder reservoir (200) via the air supply channel, and the piston (320) can pressurize the powder in the powder reservoir (200). For example, the first body (110” or 110”) and the second body (120” or 120”) can be configured to at least partially overlap, and the second body (120” or 120”) can have a corrugated tube shape having a corrugated folded structure.
[0060] The powder storage device (200) may include a first sub-body (210) disposed inside the first body (110), a second coupling portion (220) formed at one end of the first sub-body (210) in a third direction (Z), and an air supply channel (230) disposed on the side of the first sub-body (210) adjacent to the second coupling portion (220).
[0061] The XY plane shape of the first subbody (210) can be cylindrical, but is not limited thereto. For example, the XY plane shape of the first subbody (210) can be elliptical or polygonal such as triangle, square or pentagon.
[0062] The diameter of the first sub-body (210) may be smaller than the diameter of the first body (110). As a non-limiting embodiment, the width of the first sub-body (210) in the third direction (Z) may be greater than the width of the first body (110) in the third direction (Z). The first sub-body (210) may be configured to be filled with powder.
[0063] The second coupling portion (220) may have a structure that protrudes in a third direction (Z) from one end of the first sub-body (210). For example, the second coupling portion (220) may have a cylindrical shape with a diameter smaller than that of the first sub-body (210), and at least a portion of its outer peripheral surface may have a coupling structure for coupling with the inner peripheral surface of the first coupling portion (112) of the first body (110).
[0064] For example, the diameter of the outer surface of the second coupling portion (220) corresponds to the diameter of the inner surface of the first coupling portion (112), and threads can be formed on at least a portion of the outer surface of the second coupling portion (220) to achieve threaded coupling by engaging with the threads on the inner surface of the first coupling portion (112). Additionally, a second seal (PM2) can be provided at the portion of the outer surface of the second coupling portion (220) that contacts the inner surface of the first coupling portion (112) to ensure airtightness between the two components. The second seal (PM2) can be an O-ring, the size of which corresponds to the outer surface of the second coupling portion (220).
[0065] The outlet (500) can be assembled to the inner surface of the second coupling portion (220). In some embodiments, a coupling structure can be formed on the inner surface of the second coupling portion (220) that is coupled to the outlet (500).
[0066] The air supply channel (230) may include at least one opening formed on a side surface at one end of the first sub-body (210). For example, the air supply channel (230) may include four openings disposed along the periphery of the first sub-body (210). However, this disclosure is not limited thereto, and the air supply channel (230) may include three or fewer openings, or five or more openings. In addition, the openings included in the air supply channel (230) may have a circular shape in a plan view, but are not limited thereto, and may be formed in elliptical or polygonal shapes, such as triangles, squares, pentagons, etc.
[0067] The powder reservoir (200) can be connected to the air reservoir (100) via the air supply channel (230). The powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) can be discharged to the outlet (500) by compressed air introduced through the air supply channel (230). As described below, since the air supply channel (230) is located on the side close to the outlet (500) and the powder collector (PT), the powder applicator (10) according to this disclosure is advantageous in minimizing the air resistance of the powder collector (PT) and effectively injecting compressed air into the powder reservoir (200) to discharge the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
[0068] The operating unit (300) may include a piston (320) and optionally a second sub-body (310) and a spring (330). The second sub-body (310) may have a shape corresponding to the first sub-body (210) so as to at least overlap with the first sub-body (210). Thus, the second sub-body (310) may be cylindrical, but is not limited thereto, and like the first sub-body (210), its shape in the XY plane may be elliptical or polygonal, such as a triangle, a square, a pentagon, etc.
[0069] The second sub-body (310) may be disposed within the second main body (120). The second sub-body (310) may be configured to at least partially overlap with the powder reservoir (200) such that the first sub-body (210) and the second sub-body (310) may slide relative to each other in a third direction (Z).
[0070] The upper part (one end of the third direction (Z)) of the second sub-body (310) may at least partially overlap with the lower part of the first sub-body (210). The diameter of the second sub-body (310) may be larger than the diameter of the first sub-body (210). For example, by forming the diameter of the inner surface of the second sub-body (310) to correspond to the diameter of the outer surface of the first sub-body (210), the inner surface of the second sub-body (310) may surround the outer surface of the first sub-body (210).
[0071] Furthermore, the diameter of the second sub-body (310) can be set to be fixed by the support structure (123). For example, the diameter of the second sub-body (310) can be formed such that the inner surface corresponds to the outer surface of the support structure (123). In this case, the diameter of the support structure (123) and the diameter of the outer surface of the first sub-body (210) can be approximately the same, but are not limited thereto.
[0072] The second sub-body (310) can be assembled and connected to the outer surface of the support structure (123). However, this disclosure is not limited thereto. As another embodiment, structures for mutual fixation, such as threads for threaded connections, can be formed on the other end of the second sub-body (310) and the outer surface of the support structure (126). In some embodiments, the second sub-body (310) can be integrally formed with the second body (120), in which case the support structure (123) can be omitted. In addition, the width of the second sub-body (310) in the third direction (Z) can be smaller than the width of the second body (120) in the third direction (Z), but is not limited thereto.
[0073] The width difference of each of the first main body (110), the second main body (120), the first sub-body (210) and the second sub-body (310) in the third direction (Z) and the width between each component can be determined based on the amount of powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), the size and elastic coefficient of the spring (330), the air pressure required to discharge the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), etc.
[0074] Similarly, the diameters of the first body (110), the second body (120), the first sub-body (210) and the second sub-body (310) can be designed according to the amount of powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), the size and elastic coefficient of the spring (330), the air pressure required to discharge the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), etc., unless this specification limits the dimensional relationship between them.
[0075] The piston (320) may be disposed within the powder reservoir (200) and may move in the third direction (Z) within the first sub-body (210) by means of the elastic force of the spring (330). The piston (320) may include a gasket (321) and a connector (322).
[0076] The gasket (321) can seal the first sub-body (210) at the other end in the third direction (Z). The gasket (321) can have a planar shape that is substantially the same as the XY plane shape of the first sub-body (210). For example, when the first sub-body (210) has a circular shape in the XY plane, the gasket (321) can have a circular shape with a diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the first sub-body (210). The gasket (321) can have a certain sealing performance so that foreign matter such as air or dust will not be introduced into the powder filled in the first sub-body (210) from the opposite direction in the third direction (Z).
[0077] Furthermore, the liner (321) can pressurize the powder filling the first sub-body (210) by the elastic force transmitted by the spring (330), but can have rigidity that does not deform its shape. For example, the liner (321) can be made of silicon.
[0078] The connector (322) may have a structure for connecting the pad (321) to the spring (330). For example, if the pad (321) is implemented as a circular ring with an opening at its center when viewed in the third direction (Z), the connector (322) may have a structure in which one end fits into the opening of the pad (321) in the third direction (Z), while the other end is coupled to the spring (330).
[0079] The connector (322) may have a similar function to the gasket (321) in sealing the powder filled in the first sub-body (210). The connector (322) may be made of substantially the same material as the gasket (321), but is not limited thereto.
[0080] The gasket (321) and the connector (322) may be formed as separate components and may be combined together, but are not limited thereto, the gasket (321) and the connector (322) may be formed as one piece.
[0081] The spring (330) is arranged to be elastic in the third direction (Z), one end of which is fixedly connected to the piston (320) in the third direction (Z), and the other end can be fixed to the support structure (123) of the second body (120) or separated from the support structure (123).
[0082] The spring constant of the spring (330) can be set such that when the piston (320) pressurizes the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200), no empty space is created inside the first sub-body (210), as understood by those skilled in the art based on the teachings of this disclosure. In addition, the diameter, length and thickness of the spring (330) can be determined based on the spring constant and design details of other components (e.g., the width of the first / second main bodies (110, 120) and the first / second sub-body (210, 310) in the third direction (Z).
[0083] A filter (400) may be disposed between the first body (110) and the first sub-body (210). The filter (400) may be disposed between the outer surface of the first sub-body (210) and the inner surface of the first body (110), and one end in the third direction (Z) may contact the inner side of one end of the first body (110). In addition, the filter (400) may be disposed corresponding to the air supply channel (230).
[0084] The filter (400) may have an annular shape, the width of which (i.e., the width in the first direction (X) and second direction (Y) planes) is substantially the same as the distance between the outer surface of the first sub-body (210) and the inner surface of the first body (110). In addition, the third direction (Z) width of the filter (400) may have a width that extends from one end of the first sub-body (210) and completely covers the air supply passage (230).
[0085] When the other side of the second body (120) is subjected to an external force, the air volume in the air reservoir (100) decreases and air pressure is generated. The filter (400) allows the air filled in the air reservoir (100) to be supplied to the powder reservoir (200) through the air supply channel (230), but can prevent the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) from flowing into the air reservoir (100). As a non-limiting embodiment, the filter (400) can be implemented as a porous filter.
[0086] In another embodiment, the shape of the filter (400) may be modified in various ways depending on the number and shape of the openings included in the air supply channel (230), such modifications allow air to flow through the air supply channel (230) between the powder reservoir (200) and the air reservoir (100) but block the flow of powder.
[0087] The outlet (500) may include a powder discharge channel for discharging powder filled in the powder reservoir (200). The outlet (500) may be disposed between the injection member (600) or the blocking member (700) and the air reservoir (100) or the powder reservoir (200).
[0088] The outlet (500) may have one end connected to the injection member (600) or the blocking member (700) in a third direction (Z) and the other end connected to the air reservoir (100) and the powder reservoir (200). Specifically, the other end of the outlet (500) may be coupled to and / or connected to the first coupling portion (112) and the second coupling portion (220). Regarding the structure of the outlet, any known structure may be adopted, for example, reference may be made to the powder delivery device disclosed in Figures 12 to 14 of U.S. Patent No. 10,507,293, but it is not limited thereto.
[0089] The discharge port (500) may include an internal structure and an external structure. The internal structure may have a cylindrical structure, the outer surface of which mates with the inner surface of the second coupling portion (220) and forms a powder discharge channel inside. The external structure may be formed outside the internal structure and may include an inner surface for coupling the first coupling portion (112) and an outer surface for coupling the injection member (600) or the blocking member (700). The discharge port (500) may have a shape in which the internal structure protrudes in the opposite direction (Z) to the external structure. The internal and external structures of the discharge port (500) may vary depending on the structure of the first coupling portion (112) and the second coupling portion (220).
[0090] The discharge port (500) may include a powder trap (PT). The powder trap (PT) may be formed at the other end of the internal structure in a third direction (Z). A separate powder trapping component (PTM) may be coupled to the other end of the internal structure to form the powder trap (PT), but is not limited thereto. For example, the powder trap (PT) and the discharge port (500) may be integrally formed by means of technologies such as 3D printing.
[0091] When the powder discharge channel of the discharge port (500) is directly connected to the internal space of the first sub-body (210) of the powder reservoir (200), the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) can be discharged because one end of the discharge port (500) is oriented towards the direction of gravity. Therefore, the powder collector (PT) can have a structure to prevent powder discharge, except for powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) that is intentionally discharged by air pressure.
[0092] For example, the powder trap (PT) may include an arrow-shaped channel facing in the opposite direction to the powder discharge direction (third direction (Z)), as shown in Figures 5 to 10, but may include a channel with a blunt cross-sectional shape at the end of the arrow. That is, the channel of the powder trap (PT) may have a path connecting the powder reservoir (200) and the discharge port (500), but the portion near the powder reservoir (200) faces in the opposite direction to the direction in which the powder is discharged from the discharge port (500) (i.e., in the opposite direction to the third direction (Z)).
[0093] Therefore, even if the outlet (500) is arranged in the direction of gravity, the powder in the powder reservoir (200) will not flow into the channel of the powder collector (PT) which is in the opposite direction of gravity. Thus, the powder can be prevented from being accidentally discharged except when an external force is applied to the other end of the powder applicator (10).
[0094] In this specification, the example given is that there are two channels connecting the powder collector (PT) and the powder storage (200), but this is not a limitation. In another embodiment, there may be three or more channels connecting the powder collector (PT) and the powder storage (200), or there may be only one.
[0095] A third seal (PM3) may be disposed on at least a portion of the outer surface of the inner structure. The third seal (PM3) provides airtightness between the inner structure of the outlet (500) and the second coupling portion (220) of the powder reservoir (200).
[0096] The injection component (600) is configured to be coupled to the outlet (500) to inject powder into the affected area, and may include a needle (610) and a syringe (620). The needle (610) is coupled to the outlet (500), and the syringe (620) can be connected via the needle (610) to a powder discharge channel of the outlet (500).
[0097] The shape of the injection member (600) can be applied to various types of injection members known to those skilled in the art. For example, the injection member (600) can have various structures depending on the type and size of the affected area to which the powder is sprayed, such as having a structure suitable for insertion into the patient's body via an endoscope during surgery.
[0098] Before using the powder applicator (10), the outlet (500) may be connected to the blocking member (700) instead of the injection member (600). The blocking member (700) can prevent the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) from being exposed to the outside air or prevent foreign objects such as dust from flowing into the powder reservoir (200) through the outlet (500).
[0099] The blocking member (700) may include a cylindrical structure for blocking the powder discharge channel of the discharge port (500). Furthermore, the blocking member (700) may include a structure connected to the cylindrical structure, facilitating separation of the blocking member (700) from the discharge port (500). For example, the blocking member (700) may have a structure in which a cylindrical structure and an annular structure are connected in a third direction (Z), but is not limited thereto. As another example, the blocking member (700) may have various structures, such as a cylindrical structure and a hook-shaped structure connected in a third direction (Z), or a cylindrical structure and a connected "T"-shaped structure.
[0100] An O-ring-shaped fifth seal (PM4) may be provided between the injection member (600) or the blocking member (700) and the outlet (500) to ensure airtightness between the two components.
[0101] Figures 5 to 7 are cross-sectional views of the powder applicator along line L-L' in Figure 1. Figure 5 shows the powder applicator (10) with the powder airtightness maintained by the blocking member (700) before the powder applicator (10) is used. Figure 6 shows the powder discharge process of the powder filled in the powder applicator (10) when an external force is applied to the air reservoir (100) and the operating unit (300). Figure 7 is a diagram of the powder applicator (10) after all the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) has been discharged.
[0102] The operation of a powder applicator (10) according to one embodiment will be described below with reference to Figures 5 to 7. In Figures 5 and 6, for ease of explanation, the powder filled in the powder reservoir (211) is omitted, but the powder can be filled between the piston (320) and the powder collector (PT).
[0103] First, referring to Figure 5, according to one embodiment, the powder applicator (10) may have a blocking member (700) coupled to the discharge port (500) to ensure the airtightness of the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) before use by the user. Additionally, before using the powder applicator (10), the spring (330) may be in a compressed state, with a length shorter than its equilibrium length. As described below, as the powder applicator (10) discharges powder, the compressive force applied to the spring (330) decreases, and the length of the spring (330) along the third direction (Z) increases.
[0104] Thereafter, in use, the user can separate the blocking member (700) from the outlet (500) and attach the injection member (700) suitable for the area where the powder is to be applied to the outlet (500).
[0105] At this time, even if one end of the outlet (500) is open to the outside when the injection member (700) is coupled to the outlet (500), since the outlet (500) includes a powder collector (PT), according to one embodiment, the powder applicator (10) can prevent powder from being accidentally discharged from the powder applicator (10) even if the outlet (500) is facing the direction of gravity or if external forces such as vibration are applied to the powder applicator (10).
[0106] Next, the user can use the handle (114) to support the powder applicator (10) to move along the third direction (Z) and apply external force to the other end of the second body (120) to spray the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
[0107] For example, a user can support one end face of the handle (114) with the index and middle fingers of one hand and press the other end of the second body (120) with the thumb of the same hand. Therefore, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, in the powder applicator (10), the second body (120) and the second sub-body (310) can slide relative to the first body (110) and the first sub-body (210) respectively along a third direction (Z). The air filled in the internal space of the air reservoir (100) is compressed, and the compressed air can be supplied to the inside of the powder reservoir (200) through the air supply channel (230) via the filter (400).
[0108] The powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) can be transported by an airflow supplied through the air supply channel (230), and applied to the patient's affected area through the powder collector (PT) and the outlet (500) and the injection member (600).
[0109] In this way, since the powder applicator (10) disclosed herein allows the airflow for conveying powder to be introduced through the air supply channel (230) located near the outlet (500) and the powder collector (PT), the power to move the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) through the powder collector (PT) to the outlet (500) can be efficiently transmitted, thereby increasing the flowability of the powder and facilitating the effective discharge of the powder.
[0110] In addition, when the airflow used to discharge the powder flows into the other end of the powder reservoir (200), for example, into the part where the powder is pressurized by the piston (320), the air flowing into the powder reservoir (200) is blocked by the other end of the powder trap (PT). The powder applicator (10) disclosed herein prevents the air resistance of the powder trap (PT) and at the same time separates the direction of airflow from the direction of the piston (320) pressurizing the powder, which is beneficial to more effectively discharge the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
[0111] At the same time, since the powder applicator (10) according to one embodiment is arranged such that the first body (110) and the second body (120) and the first sub-body (210) and the second sub-body (310) respectively at least partially overlap and cooperate and slide along a third direction (Z), as shown in Figures 5 to 10, the powder applicator (10) can be pressed in a constant direction regardless of the position of the finger pressing the other end of the second body (120) (i.e., the position of the user's thumb on the surface of the other end of the second body (120) in the XY plane) and the angle of pressing the other end of the second body (120).
[0112] Therefore, according to an embodiment of the powder applicator (10), since uniform pressure can be applied to the powder applicator (10) to spray powder regardless of where the user applies pressure to the powder applicator (10), it is advantageous for operating the powder applicator (10) to discharge a constant amount of powder.
[0113] In addition, as the second body (120) and the second sub-body (310) move along the third direction (Z) relative to the first body (110) and the first sub-body (210) respectively, the piston (320) and the spring (330) also move along the third direction (Z), and due to the external force applied to the second body (120) and the elastic force of the spring (330), the piston (320) can move the amount of space occupied by the powder discharged from the powder storage (200).
[0114] When the powder applicator (10) is designed for multiple sprays, the powder reservoir (200) can be kept full of powder without any gaps by means of the piston (320) until all the powder in the powder reservoir (200) is sprayed. Therefore, in the case of a powder applicator (10) according to an embodiment, it is beneficial to keep the amount of powder sprayed in multiple sprays constant and improve the accuracy of the powder spraying time.
[0115] When the external force applied to the other end of the second body (120) is released, the second body (120) and the second sub-body (310) can move relative to the first body (110) and the first sub-body (210) in opposite directions in the third direction (Z) by means of the spring force, and can return to their original positions before the external force was applied to the second body (120). Even in this case, the piston (320) can still remain in the internal space of the powder reservoir (200) without any positional change, so that the powder reservoir (200) is filled with powder without any gaps. In addition, since the filter (400) is provided between the air reservoir (100) and the powder reservoir (200), it is possible to prevent the powder from moving from the powder reservoir (200) to the air reservoir (100).
[0116] In the powder applicator (10), the powder discharging process described above can be repeated a preset number of times. When the powder applicator (10) has completely discharged the filled powder, the piston (320) can contact one end face of the internal space of the powder reservoir (200), as shown in FIG7. For this purpose, the spring constant of the spring (330) can be designed to have such elasticity that when the powder filled in the powder applicator (10) is discharged, the piston (320) can contact one end face of the internal space of the powder reservoir (200).
[0117] Figures 8 to 10 are cross-sectional views illustrating the operation method of a powder applicator according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0118] The difference between the powder applicator (11) of Figures 8 to 10 and the embodiments of Figures 5 to 7 is that the air reservoir (100) further includes a bellows fitting (130'). With regard to Figures 8 to 10, the differences between them and the embodiments of Figures 5 to 7 will be explained in detail.
[0119] Referring to Figures 8 to 10, according to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the corrugated tube (130') of the powder applicator (11) may be disposed between the first body (110') and the second body (120').
[0120] The corrugated fitting (130') may have a structure that folds in a corrugated manner when a force is applied in the third direction (Z). The corrugated fitting (130') may be elastic in the third direction (Z). For example, before an external force is applied to the powder applicator (11), the corrugated fitting (130') is in an elastic equilibrium state, but when an external force is applied in the third direction (Z), it may be elastic to return to the elastic equilibrium state.
[0121] The width of the first body (110') in the third direction (Z) according to this embodiment may be smaller than the width of the first body (110) in the third direction (Z) according to the embodiments of FIG5 to 7. In another embodiment derived from this embodiment, the width of the second body (120') in the third direction (Z) may be smaller than the width of the second body (120) in the third direction (Z) according to the embodiments of FIG5 to 7, but is not limited thereto.
[0122] The first body (110') and the second body (120') may have substantially the same diameter and may not overlap in the XY plane. In this case, one end and the other end of the corrugated fitting (130') in the third direction (Z) may have diameters for coupling and fixing to the first body (110') and the second body (120'), respectively. As another embodiment, the first body (110') and the second body (120') may have different diameters, and the corrugated fitting (130') may also have diameters for coupling and fixing to the first body (110') and the second body (120'), respectively. Therefore, the corrugated fitting (130') may have a non-uniform width in the third direction (Z) and the second direction (Y).
[0123] When the user applies an external force to the powder applicator (11) shown in Figures 8 to 10 along the third direction (Z), the corrugated folding structure of the corrugated fitting (130') folds, and the first body (110') and the second body (120') can move along the third direction (Z) and become adjacent to each other. As a result, the pressure of the air filling the air reservoir (100') increases, and as shown in Figures 5 to 7, the pressurized air can be introduced into the powder reservoir (200) through the air supply channel (230) to deliver the powder to the powder collector (PT) and the outlet (500).
[0124] For the powder applicator (11) according to the embodiments of FIG8 to FIG10, the amount of powder sprayed by the powder applicator (11) can be advantageously controlled by controlling the elasticity of the corrugated tube (130') in the third direction (Z). In addition, similar to the embodiments of FIG5 to FIG7, when a force in the third direction (Z) is applied to the powder applicator (11), since the first sub-body (210) and the second sub-body (310) slide towards each other in the third direction (Z) and at least partially overlap and fit together, the pressure can be applied in a constant direction regardless of the position of the user's finger pressing the other end of the second body (120) or the angle at which the other end of the second body (120) is pressed.
[0125] Figures 11 to 13 are cross-sectional views used to explain the operation method of a powder applicator (12) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. The powder applicator (12) can be implemented by omitting the second sub-body (310) from the operation unit (300) and implementing the second body portion of the second body (120) as a corrugated pipe, and can have, for example, the same operating principle as the powder applicator of Figures 14 to 17.
[0126] Figure 11 is a diagram of the powder applicator (12) which is kept airtight by the blocking member (700) before the powder applicator (12) is used. Figure 12 is a diagram of the powder filling the powder applicator (12) being discharged when an external force is applied to the air reservoir (100) and the operating unit (300). Figure 13 is a diagram of the powder applicator (12) after all the powder filling the powder reservoir (200) has been discharged.
[0127] Referring to Figures 11 to 13, the second body (120) according to this embodiment may have a second body portion formed as a corrugated pipe. For example, the second body portion may be a corrugated pipe having a shape extending from the other end of the first body portion along a third direction (Z). Therefore, the second stop portion (122) of the second body (120) in the embodiments of Figures 5 to 7 may be omitted in this embodiment. The second body portion may be a corrugated pipe with a constant width in the third direction (Z), but it may also be formed as a cone with a varying width in the third direction (Z), as shown in Figure 14.
[0128] Furthermore, the first body (110) may be completely transparent or partially transparent, and the first body (110) may have a constant diameter or be formed as a cone with a width varying in a third direction (Z). In addition, the handle portion (114) may be symmetrical or asymmetrical, and may have a structure that protrudes outward from the first body (110), or may be formed as a structure separate from the first body (110) and coupled to one end of the first body (110).
[0129] The spring (330) may be fixed or spaced apart from the inner side of the second body portion of the above-mentioned corrugated pipe shape.
[0130] The operation of a powder applicator (12) according to one embodiment will be described below with reference to Figures 11 to 13. In Figures 11 and 12, for ease of explanation, the powder filled in the powder reservoir (211) is omitted, but the space between the piston (320) and the powder collector can be filled with powder.
[0131] First, referring to FIG11, according to one embodiment, the powder applicator (12) may have a blocking member (700) coupled to the discharge port (500) to ensure the airtightness of the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) before use by the user. In addition, before using the powder applicator (12), the spring (330) may be in a compressed state, and its length is shorter than the length of the spring in its equilibrium state. As described below, as the powder applicator (12) discharges powder, the compressive force applied to the spring (330) decreases, and the length of the spring (330) along the third direction (Z) will become longer.
[0132] Before the powder applicator (12) according to another embodiment is used by the user, the spring (330) is spaced apart from the interior of the second body (120) which is in the shape of a corrugated tube and is in an uncompressed equilibrium state. When the other end of the second body (120) is subjected to an external force, the spring (330) is compressed and moves forward along the third direction (Z). When the external force applied to the other end of the second body (120) is released, the compressive force applied to the spring (330) is reduced and returns to the length of the original equilibrium state.
[0133] Thereafter, in use, the user can separate the blocking member (700) from the outlet (500) and attach the injection member (700) suitable for the area where the powder is to be applied to the outlet (500).
[0134] In this situation, even if one end of the outlet (500) is open to the outside when the injection member (700) is coupled to the outlet (500), since the outlet (500) includes a powder collector, according to one embodiment, the powder applicator (12) can prevent powder from being accidentally discharged from the powder applicator (12) even if the outlet (500) is facing the direction of gravity or if external forces such as vibration are applied to the powder applicator (12).
[0135] Next, the user can use the handle (114) to support the powder applicator (12) to move along the third direction (Z) and apply external force to the other end of the corrugated fitting (i.e. the second body (120)) to spray the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
[0136] For example, a user can support one end of the handle (114) with the index and middle fingers of one hand and press the other end of the bellows (i.e., the second body (120)) with the thumb of the same hand. Thus, in the powder applicator (12) shown in Figures 11 and 12, the bellows (i.e., the second body (120)) retracts toward the first body (110), compressing the air filled in the air reservoir (100) by increasing pressure, and the compressed air can be supplied to the powder reservoir (200) through the air supply passage (230) via the filter (400). The piston (320) can pressurize the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
[0137] The powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) can be transported by the airflow supplied by the air supply channel (230), and applied to the patient’s affected area through the powder collector, the outlet (500) and the injection member (600).
[0138] The powder applicator disclosed herein is not limited to the specific embodiments described and illustrated above, and can also be formed by combining the components described in the various specific embodiments. For example, the powder applicator according to another embodiment can be substantially the same as the embodiment of FIG. 14, and the shape of the handle portion and / or the shape of the second body portion can be the same as shown in FIG. 15 to FIG. 17. In addition, according to another embodiment, the piston (320) can be formed by integrally molding the gasket and the connector.
[0139] FIG14 is a schematic perspective view of a powder applicator (13) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0140] The embodiment of FIG14 differs from the embodiments of FIG5 to 7 in the formation position and shape of the handle portion (114”) of the first body (110”) and the second body portion of the second body (120”) which is implemented as a corrugated pipe. With regard to FIG14, the differences from the embodiments of FIG5 to 7 will be mainly described.
[0141] Referring to FIG. 14, the second body (120”) according to this embodiment may have a second body portion formed as a corrugated pipe. For example, the second body portion may be a corrugated pipe having a shape extending from the other end of the first body portion along a third direction (Z). Therefore, the second stop portion (122) of the second body (120) in the embodiments of FIG. 5 to 7 may be omitted in this embodiment. The second body portion may be a corrugated pipe having a constant width in the third direction (Z), but it may also be formed such that the width in the third direction (Z) varies, as shown in FIG. 14.
[0142] The spring (330) can be fixed or spaced apart from the inner side of the second body portion of the above-described corrugated pipe shape.
[0143] A handle portion (114”) of the first body (110”) may be formed at the other end of the first body portion along a third direction (Z). For example, when the operation extends from the other end of the first body portion to form a second body portion that is a bellows, the handle portion (114”) may have a shape in which at least a portion of the periphery of the other end of the first body portion protrudes laterally for power transmission and stability. The degree and shape of the handle portion (114”) protruding from the other end of the first body portion may be designed to vary. For example, the handle portion (114”) may protrude from the side of the other end of the first body portion along a second direction (Y) and in a direction opposite to the second direction (Y), respectively, and may have a shape that intersects the first body portion when viewed from a third direction (Z), and the portions protruding in the second direction (Y) and in a direction opposite to the second direction (Y) may be symmetrical or asymmetrical with each other.
[0144] Meanwhile, in this embodiment, the operation unit (300) can be implemented by omitting the second sub-body (310).
[0145] FIG15 is a schematic perspective view of a powder applicator (14) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG16 is a cross-sectional view of the powder applicator (14) of FIG15. FIG17 is a perspective view showing an embodiment in which a blocking member (700''') according to another embodiment of the present disclosure is applied to the powder applicator (14) of FIG15.
[0146] The embodiments in Figures 15 to 17 differ from the embodiment in Figure 14 in that the shape of the first body portion of the first main body (110'''), the shape of the handle portion (114'''), the shape of the filter (400'''), and the shape of the blocking member (700''') are modified, and the second body portion of the second main body (120''') is formed as a corrugated pipe with a constant width in the third direction (Z). Referring to Figures 15 to 17, the differences from the embodiment in Figure 14 will be mainly described.
[0147] First, referring to Figures 15 and 16, the first body portion of the first main body (110''') according to this embodiment can have a shape in which the width varies in the third direction (Z). For example, the first body portion can have a shape in which the area in the XY plane increases from one end to the other, and although not limited thereto, when viewed along the first direction (X), the first body portion can have a triangular shape in the plane. In this case, when air is supplied from the air reservoir (100''') to the powder reservoir (200) by air pressure through the air supply channel (230), since the air reservoir (100''') has a structure in the third direction (Z) in which the area on one end is smaller than the area on the other end, it is beneficial to improve the air supply efficiency. In addition, the shape of the filter (400''') can be provided inside the first main body (110''') having this shape.
[0148] In addition, the handle (114''') can be made so that the overall shape of the powder applicator (13) is T-shaped or gun-shaped. The handle (114''') according to this embodiment is beneficial to improve the operational stability of the powder applicator (14) by improving the grip and support when the user uses the powder applicator (14).
[0149] Referring to FIG17, the blocking member (700''') may have a shape that closes the outlet (500) and provides an integral feel with the first body portion. For example, the area of the other end of the blocking member (700''') in the XY plane in the third direction (Z) is substantially the same as the area of one end of the first body portion in the XY plane, and the blocking member (700''') may have a shape in which the area on the plane decreases as it extends along the third direction (Z).
[0150] Additionally, a separation structure (710''') may be formed on at least a portion of the other end of the blocking member (700''') to allow the blocking member (700''') to be easily separated from the outlet (500). The separation structure (710''') may have a shape in which at least a portion of the other end of the blocking member (700''') protrudes laterally in the XY plane, but is not limited thereto.
[0151] Even in the embodiment according to Figures 14 to 17, since the airflow for conveying the powder is introduced through the air supply channel (230) provided near the outlet (500) and the powder collector (PT), the force that moves the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200) to the outlet (500) through the powder collector (PT) can be effectively transmitted, thereby increasing the flowability of the powder and facilitating the effective discharge of the powder.
[0152] In addition, when the airflow used to discharge the powder flows into the other end of the powder reservoir (200), for example, into the part where the powder is pressurized by the piston (320), the air flowing into the powder reservoir (200) is blocked by the other end of the powder trap (PT). The powder applicator (13,14) according to this embodiment can prevent the air resistance of the powder trap (PT) and separate the direction of airflow from the direction of the piston (320) pressurizing the powder, thereby facilitating more efficient discharge of the powder filled in the powder reservoir (200).
