Abstract

A configurable conduit for a computer chassis includes a fixed portion and a movable portion. The fixed portion includes a first base wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall. The first base wall, first side wall, and second side wall form part of three sides of the configurable conduit. The first base wall is configured to attach to the computer chassis. The movable portion includes a second base wall and is rotatably attached to the fixed portion. The movable portion is rotatable between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the second base wall is generally parallel to the first base wall and blocks access to a portion of the computer chassis. In the second configuration, the movable portion rotates away from a portion of the computer chassis, exposing that portion of the computer chassis.

Claims

1. A configurable pipe for a computer chassis, the configurable pipe comprising: A fixed portion includes a first base wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall, the first side wall extending along a first edge of the first base wall, and the second side wall extending along a second edge of the first base wall, the first base wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall forming part of three sides of a configurable conduit, the first base wall being configured to attach to a computer chassis; and a movable portion includes a second base wall, a third side wall, and a fourth side wall, the movable portion being rotatably attached to the fixed portion, the movable portion being rotatable between a first configuration and a second configuration, the second base wall being generally parallel to the first base wall and blocking access to a portion of the computer chassis in the first configuration, the third side wall extending along a third edge of the second base wall, and the fourth side wall extending along a fourth edge of the second base wall; the movable portion rotating in the second configuration and moving away from the portion of the computer chassis, exposing the portion in the second configuration, thereby providing access to the portion of the computer chassis, wherein: The first sidewall and the second sidewall each include a stop member and a locking recess. The stop member prevents the movable part from rotating further through the first configuration, and the locking recess extends from a flexible sheet. The third sidewall and the fourth sidewall contact individual stops on the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The third sidewall and the fourth sidewall each include a recessed hole. The locking recess is received by the individual recessed holes through the third sidewall and the fourth sidewall, thereby fixing the movable part in the first configuration.

2. The configurable conduit as described in claim 1, wherein the movable portion further includes an end wall that is substantially orthogonal to the second base wall, the third side wall, and the fourth side wall.

3. The configurable conduit as described in claim 2, wherein the movable part is rotatably attached to the fixed part by a rotary hinge.

4. The configurable conduit as claimed in claim 3, wherein the rotary hinge includes a plurality of supports extending from the first sidewall and the second sidewall or the third sidewall and the fourth sidewall, the supports being configured to rotate in a plurality of holes respectively passing through the third sidewall and the fourth sidewall or the first sidewall and the second sidewall.

5. The configurable conduit as described in claim 1, wherein the first base wall is attached to the computer chassis via a double-sized slot passing through the first base wall, the double-sized slot being attached to a T-pin extending from the computer chassis.

6. The configurable conduit as described in claim 1, wherein the first base wall is attached to the computer chassis via a screw passing through a hole in the first base wall, the screw being screwed into the computer chassis.

7. The configurable conduit as described in claim 1, wherein the movable portion in the first configuration covers the entry of an expansion board attached to that portion of the computer chassis.

8. A computing system, comprising: A computer case; A heating electronic component; And a configurable conduit, partially attached to the computer chassis, the configurable conduit including: A fixed portion includes a first base wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall, the first side wall extending along a first edge of the first base wall, and the second side wall extending along a second edge of the first base wall. The first base wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall form part of three sides of the configurable conduit. The first base wall is attached to the computer chassis. A movable portion includes a second base wall, a third side wall, and a fourth side wall, the movable portion being rotatably attached to the fixed portion. The movable portion is rotatable between a first configuration and a second configuration. The second base wall is substantially parallel to the first base wall and blocks access to a portion of the computer chassis in the first configuration. The third side wall extends along a third edge of the second base wall, and the fourth side wall extends along a fourth edge of the second base wall. The movable portion rotates in the second configuration and moves away from that portion of the computer chassis, exposing that portion of the computer chassis in the second configuration. The first sidewall and the second sidewall each include a stop member and a locking recess.
