Abstract

This invention provides a display device and its control method. The display device includes a display, a host, and a controller. The host includes an image transmission interface. The host segments each of a plurality of consecutive images into a plurality of segmented images, and sequentially transmits one of the plurality of segmented images of each image through the image transmission interface as a segmented display image. The controller is coupled to the image transmission interface and the display. The controller drives the display to display a frame continuously updated by the segmented display images, thereby accelerating the display of images.

Claims

1. A display device, comprising: One monitor; A host computer includes an image transmission interface for cutting each of a plurality of consecutive images into a plurality of segmented images, and sequentially transmitting one of the segmented images of each image through the image transmission interface as a segmented display image; and a controller coupled to the image transmission interface and the display for driving the display to display a screen that is continuously updated by the segmented display images.

2. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the host is further configured to segment each of the images into the segmented images according to a ratio of a first image generation rate to an interface transmission rate of the image transmission interface.

3. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the host is used to cut each of the images into the segmented images in a horizontal direction.

4. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the segmented display images correspond to different display areas that are contiguous in a vertical direction and to different display areas that are not adjacent in a horizontal direction.

5. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the segmented display images are used to combine into a single frame.

6. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the controller comprises: A buffer, coupled to the image transmission interface, is used to store the segmented display images.

7. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the display is an electronic paper display.

8. A method for controlling a display device, comprising: A host computer divides each of a series of images into multiple segmented images; an image transmission interface sequentially transmits one of the segmented images of each image as a segmented display image; and a controller drives a display to display a picture continuously updated by the segmented display images.

9. The control method as described in claim 8, wherein the step of segmenting each of the consecutive images into the segmented images via the host includes: The host computer segments each image into the segmented images according to the ratio of a first image generation rate to an interface transmission rate of the image transmission interface.

10. The control method as described in claim 8, wherein the step of segmenting each of the consecutive images into the segmented images via the host includes: The host computer uses a horizontal direction to cut each image into these segmented images.

11. The control method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the segmented display images correspond to different display areas that are contiguous in a vertical direction and to different display areas that are not adjacent in a horizontal direction.

12. The control method as described in claim 8, wherein the segmented display images are used to combine into a single frame image.

13. The control method as described in claim 8 further includes: These segmented display images are stored through a buffer.

14. The control method as described in claim 8, wherein the display is an electronic paper display.
