Abstract

This invention relates to an LED backlight zone control device and its driving method, comprising a display module, a micro control processing unit, and an LED chip module. The display module is disposed within a head-up display device and has a display area, which includes a first backlight display area and a second backlight display area. The micro control processing unit is electrically connected to the display module and includes a driving circuit. The LED chip module is electrically connected to the driving circuit and is used to receive control signals from the driving circuit and drive the LEDs in the second backlight display area to start or stop. Simultaneously, it transmits driving signals to the display module to start or / and stop the first backlight display area to display a first display image, and the second backlight display area to display a second display image.

Claims

1. An LED backlight zone control device for use, disposed within a head-up display (HUD) in a vehicle, comprising: a display module disposed within the HUD, the display module having a display area including a first backlight display area and a second backlight display area; a microcontroller unit electrically connected to the display module, the microcontroller unit including a driving circuit; and an LED chip module electrically connected to the driving circuit, the LED chip module being configured to receive a control signal from the driving circuit and drive an LED in the second backlight display area to start or stop, and simultaneously transmit a driving signal to the display module to start or / and stop the first backlight display area from displaying a first display image, and the second backlight display area from displaying a second display image; wherein... The first display screen in the first backlight display area is always on, and the second display screen is a non-real-time pixel analysis screen or a value-added service screen.

2. The LED backlight zone control device as described in claim 1, wherein the control signal includes a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and a general purpose input / output (GPIO) control signal.

3. The LED backlight zone control device as described in claim 1, wherein the drive signal includes a serial communication protocol signal (SPI / I2C).

A method for controlling and driving LED backlight zones, used in a head-up display device in a vehicle, comprising the steps of: defining a display area on a display module of the head-up display device, wherein, The display area includes a first backlight display area and a second backlight display area; a driving circuit of a micro control processing unit transmits a control signal to an LED chip module; and when the LED chip module receives the control signal, the LED chip module drives one of the LEDs in the second backlight display area to turn on or off, and simultaneously transmits a driving signal to the display module to turn on or / and off the first backlight display area to display a first display screen, and the second backlight display area to display a second display screen; wherein the first display screen in the first backlight display area is always on, and the second display screen is a non-real-time pixel analysis screen or a value-added service screen.

7. The method of using LED backlight zone control drive as described in claim 5, wherein the drive signal includes a serial communication protocol signal (SPI / I2C).
