AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing surface protective films for optical and electronic components lack sufficient antistatic properties and light peelability, leading to potential damage during processing, assembly, inspection, and transportation, and can contaminate adherends due to residual adhesive components.

Method used

A surface protective film with a base material layer, an antistatic layer containing an adhesive resin and conductive polymer, and an adhesive layer composed of a urethane prepolymer and fluorine-based compound, which includes a specific ratio of ionic compounds and fatty acid esters to ensure excellent antistatic properties and light peelability.

Benefits of technology

The film provides excellent antistatic properties, preventing static electricity-induced damage and contamination while ensuring easy and stable peeling, maintaining the integrity of the components and facilitating smooth manufacturing processes.

Abstract

This invention provides a surface protective film, which is applied to the exposed surface of an optical or electronic component during the manufacturing process to prevent surface damage during processing, assembly, inspection, and transportation. The film also exhibits excellent easy peeling and excellent antistatic properties. Furthermore, this invention provides an optical or electronic component with this surface protective film attached. The surface protective film of this invention sequentially comprises a substrate layer, an antistatic layer, and an adhesive layer. The antistatic layer contains an adhesive resin and a conductive polymer. The adhesive constituting the adhesive layer is formed from an adhesive composition containing a base polymer and a fluorinated compound. The base polymer is a urethane prepolymer.
