Abstract

This invention discloses the use of a Taiwan rhamnosus extract, which has antioxidant and inhibitory effects on the activities of α-glucosidase, acetylcholinesterase and tyrosinase. Therefore, it can be used to prepare a composition for antioxidant and inhibitory effects on the activities of α-glucosidase, acetylcholinesterase and tyrosinase.

Claims

1. Use of a Taiwan rhamnoides extract for preparing a component for inhibiting α-glucosidase activity, wherein the Taiwan rhamnoides extract has an active compound, the active compound being a compound of formula (I) or a compound of formula (II) (I)(II).

2. The use of the Taiwan buckthorn extract as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Taiwan buckthorn is extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, acetone, ethanol, methanol, room temperature water or hot water at 100 degrees Celsius to obtain the Taiwan buckthorn extract.

3. The use of the Taiwan buckthorn extract as claimed in claim 1, wherein the stem of a Taiwan buckthorn is extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, acetone, ethanol, methanol, room temperature water or hot water at 100 degrees Celsius to obtain the Taiwan buckthorn extract.
