Abstract

A touchpad device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate has a touch sensing element and a first capacitive coupling electrode layer. The first capacitive coupling electrode layer has a first sensing layer and a second sensing layer surrounding the first sensing layer. The second substrate has a second capacitive coupling electrode layer. The second capacitive coupling electrode layer includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion surrounding the first protrusion. The first protrusion is higher than the second protrusion. The first protrusion corresponds to the first sensing layer. The second protrusion corresponds to the second sensing layer.

Claims

1. A touchpad device, comprising: a first substrate having a touch sensing element and a first capacitive coupling electrode layer, wherein the first capacitive coupling electrode layer has a first sensing layer and a second sensing layer surrounding the first sensing layer; and a second substrate having a second capacitive coupling electrode layer, wherein the second capacitive coupling electrode layer includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion surrounding the first protrusion, the first protrusion being higher than the second protrusion, the first protrusion corresponding to the first sensing layer, and the second protrusion corresponding to the second sensing layer, wherein the first protrusion and the first sensing layer are opposite to each other in an alignment direction of the first capacitive coupling electrode layer and the second capacitive coupling electrode layer, and the second protrusion and the second sensing layer are opposite to each other in the alignment direction.

The touchpad device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a processing unit configured to acquire a first capacitance value based on the electrical induction between the first protrusion and the first sensing layer, and configured to acquire a second capacitance value based on the electrical induction between the second protrusion and the second sensing layer.

The touchpad device as claimed in claim 2 further includes a force feedback module disposed on the side of the first capacitively coupled electrode layer away from the first substrate, and the processing unit is further configured to drive the force feedback module when the first capacitance value changes to saturation and the second capacitance value continues to change.

4. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the processing unit is further configured to drive the force feedback module when the first capacitance value and the second capacitance value change simultaneously.

5. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the processing unit is further configured to not drive the force feedback module when the first capacitance value changes to saturation and the second capacitance value does not continue to change.

6. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising: a bracket fixed to the second substrate; and a support member supported between the bracket and the first capacitively coupled electrode layer.

The touchpad device as claimed in claim 6, wherein the second substrate has a recess on the side near the support, and the recess is opposite to the support member and part of the support in the arrangement direction of the first capacitive coupling electrode layer and the second capacitive coupling electrode layer.

8. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 7, wherein the bracket has at least one cutout, and the at least one cutout is opposite to the recess in the arrangement direction.

9. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 7, wherein the first protrusion and the first sensing layer have a distance in the alignment direction, the recess has a depth in the alignment direction, and the distance is greater than the depth.

10. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 7, wherein the first protrusion has a first height in the arrangement direction, the support has a second height in the arrangement direction, and the second height is greater than the first height.

11. The touchpad device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the touch sensing element and the first capacitive coupling electrode layer are different conductor layers embedded in a circuit board.
