Description

Methods, apparatus and storage media for providing gift wrapping information for items The embodiments described herein relate to a method and apparatus for providing gift packaging information for articles. With the widespread use of the Internet, the e-commerce market is expanding. In particular, with the spread of infectious diseases, the proportion of people going to physical stores to buy goods is decreasing, while the proportion of people buying goods through e-commerce using computers or smartphones, or ordering food through food delivery intermediary services, is rapidly increasing. Users can search for and purchase various items through e-commerce applications, often not for personal use but as gifts. However, depending on the item, sometimes the packaging is poorly made of plastic or cardboard. This packaging may not align with the user's intentions, making it difficult to perceive the item as a high-quality gift and thus diminishing its special meaning. To address this issue, e-commerce service providers can offer gift wrapping services, designing outbound processes that allow users to individually wrap items before they leave the distribution center. On the other hand, e-commerce service providers need to introduce gift wrapping services to users through service applications, confirm whether gift wrapping is available when purchasing items, and build user interfaces so that users can easily select gift wrapping options for items that can be gift wrapped, thereby improving the user experience related to gift wrapping. Prior art documents related to this invention include Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2004-0026842. According to one embodiment, the method for providing gift wrapping information of items is characterized by further including the following steps: providing a third page for obtaining information associated with gift wrapping of at least a portion of the item list based on user input corresponding to the second page. According to one embodiment, the step of providing the first page includes the following steps: providing a fourth page including detailed information about the item; obtaining the user's purchase input for the item corresponding to the fourth page; and providing the first page based on the purchase input. According to one embodiment, the first page is provided as a bottom sheet page that overlaps with at least a portion of the fourth page. In one embodiment, electronic device 120 can provide user terminal 110 with information related to gift wrapping services for items. In one embodiment, the electronic device may provide a first page containing information about items to a user's terminal, obtain a first selection input from the user corresponding to the first page regarding gift wrapping of the items, and provide a second page including a first area and a second area. The user terminal and electronic device shown in Figures 2a and 2b may respectively include the user terminal 110 and electronic device 120 shown in Figure 1. Referring to Figure 2a, in step 205, the electronic device may provide a first page containing information about the item to the user terminal. The item information included on the first page may include the item's name, type, sales options, image, sales price, discounted price, coupon discount information, estimated delivery date, total amount, review information, gift wrapping information, and related product information. The first page may, for example, be a page containing a list of search results for specific keywords, a page displaying detailed information about a specific item, or a page displaying information about the item's category. In one embodiment, the electronic device can provide a fourth page including detailed information about an item, obtain the user's purchase input for the item corresponding to the fourth page, and provide a first page based on the purchase input. Gift wrapping may be restricted for items that possess the following characteristics: i) the need to maintain freshness or condition; or ii) a shelf life or a shorter shelf life than other items; or iii) the requirement to meet certain conditions related to temperature, humidity, or light for storage within a limited timeframe. Furthermore, gift wrapping may also be restricted for items that require separate management, such as items sensitive to external impacts and requiring protection from shocks upon arrival at the warehouse. For example, items as described above may include electronic products of a certain size or weight requiring protection from external impacts, or items made of materials sensitive to external impacts, such as glass. As described above, when it is determined that an item needs to be protected from impact or is difficult to maintain its condition, the electronic device may be configured to set only a portion of the gift wrapping options as gift wrapping options for the item, so as to limit the gift wrapping itself, or to prevent impact and maintain its condition. In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine that items shipped with their own packaging cannot be gift-wrapped. Referring to Figure 3a, page 300 is shown, which is a single detailed page about item A. Page 300 may include detailed information about item A, such as its name, type, sales options, image, sales price, discounted price, coupon discount information, estimated delivery date, total amount, review information, gift wrapping information, and information about other items related to item A. In the example shown in Figure 3a, page 300 may include area 301, which includes information on whether gift wrapping of item A is possible.
