Abstract

A horizontal shock absorber includes a cylindrical body, a flow guide seat, two airtight pistons, and an actuating rod. The cylindrical body includes a shell and a tube with a plurality of through holes. The flow guide seat divides the tube into an inner space and an outer space. The flow guide seat has a slot connecting the inner and outer spaces. The airtight pistons are slidably disposed in the inner space and define a gas-filled, sealed chamber. The actuating rod includes a rod body and an actuating piston. When the actuating piston pushes hydraulic oil, some hydraulic oil passes through the slot and pushes one of the airtight pistons. Because gas is compressible, the gas in the chamber can withstand pressure instead of solid components, thereby reducing component wear and extending service life. Furthermore, the overall outer diameter can be reduced without the need for an air bladder.

Claims

1. A horizontal shock absorber, comprising: a cylindrical body including a cylindrical shell and a tube coaxially fixed inside the cylindrical shell, the tube having a plurality of through holes radially provided; a flow guide seat fixed in the cylindrical body and dividing the tube into an inner space communicating with the through holes and an outer space, the flow guide seat, the cylindrical shell, and the tube cooperating to define a flow space communicating with the through holes and surrounding the outer space, the flow guide seat having a slot axially communicating with the inner space and the outer space; Two airtight pistons are axially movable in the inner space, and these airtight pistons cooperate with the tube to define a gas chamber filled with gas and forming a sealed space; and an actuating rod includes a rod inserted into the tube and an actuating piston disposed on the rod and located in the tube. The actuating piston is movably located in the outer space and divides the outer space into an inner oil chamber that is relatively adjacent to the inner space and communicates with the through holes, and an outer oil chamber that is relatively far from the inner space and communicates with the flow space. The actuating piston has a plurality of through holes that axially communicate with the inner oil chamber and the outer oil chamber.
