Abstract

A display panel has a first display area and a second display area, and includes a substrate and a pixel array layer. The pixel array layer is disposed on the substrate and includes a plurality of pixels, a first data line, and a second data line. The number of pixels connected to the first data line is greater than the number of pixels connected to the second data line. An automotive display device is also proposed.

Claims

1. A display panel having a first display area and a second display area, and comprising: substrate; A pixel array layer is disposed on the substrate and includes multiple pixels, a first data line, and a second data line, wherein the number of multiple pixels connected to the first data line is greater than the number of multiple pixels connected to the second data line, and wherein the first data line is disposed in the first display area and the second display area; the second data line is disposed in the first display area but not in the second display area.

2. The display panel as claimed in claim 1, wherein there are M pixels connected to the first data line and N pixels connected to the second data line, MN=K, M is greater than 1, N is greater than 1, and K is greater than 1.

3. The display panel as claimed in claim 2, wherein the second data line is further connected to a load element having a load equivalent to the total load of the K pixels connected to the first data line.

4. The display panel as claimed in claim 3, wherein the load element is disposed within the first display area.

5. The display panel as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second data line is further connected to an electrostatic discharge protection element.

6. The display panel as claimed in claim 5, wherein the electrostatic discharge protection element is disposed within the first display area.

7. The display panel as claimed in claim 6, wherein the electrostatic discharge protection element is driven by the gate drive circuit of the display panel.

8. The display panel as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first display area includes a regular area and a buffer, the buffer being located between the regular area and the second display area, the plurality of pixels in the regular area having a first pixel spacing, the plurality of pixels in the second display area having a second pixel spacing, and the first pixel spacing being less than the second pixel spacing.

9. The display panel as claimed in claim 8, wherein the plurality of pixels in the buffer have a third pixel spacing, and the first pixel spacing is smaller than the third pixel spacing.

10. The display panel as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first display area and the second display area are arranged along a direction, and both the first data line and the second data line extend along the direction.

11. The display panel as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first display area and the second display area are arranged along a first direction, and the first data line and the second data line both extend along a second direction, wherein the first direction is perpendicular to the second direction.

12. The display panel as claimed in claim 11, wherein each of the pixels is provided with a microchip, and each of the microchips is provided with a gate drive circuit and an electrostatic discharge protection element.

13. The display panel of any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein the first display area is a non-stretchable display area and the second display area is a stretchable display area.

14. A vehicle display device comprising a display panel as described in claim 1.
