[0040] Figure 1 is a schematic configuration diagram illustrating a system for providing advertising content according to an example embodiment.
[0041] According to various example embodiments, a system 100 for providing advertising content includes an electronic device 110, a user device 120, and an advertising consumer device 130. According to one example embodiment, the system 100 for providing advertising content may further include a network configured to support information exchange between at least some of the electronic device 110, user device 120, and advertising consumer device 130 and other external devices.
[0042] Each of the electronic device 110, the user device 120, and the advertising consumer device 130 may include a transceiver, a memory, and a processor. Additionally, each of the electronic device 110, the user device 120, and the advertising consumer device 130 may refer to a unit that processes at least one function or operation, which may be implemented in hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software. Furthermore, throughout the exemplary embodiments, the electronic device 110, the user device 120, and the advertising consumer device 130 are referred to as individual servers, but may have a logically partitioned structure and may be implemented by a single function within a single server.
[0043] According to one embodiment, electronic device 110, user device 120, and advertising consumer device 130 may include a plurality of computer systems or computer software implemented as network servers. For example, at least some of electronic device 110, user device 120, and advertising consumer device 130 may refer to a computer system and computer software connected to a lower-level device capable of communicating with another network server via a computer network (such as an intranet or the Internet) to receive a task execution request, respond to the request to execute a task, and provide an execution result. Additionally, at least some of electronic device 110, user device 120, and advertising consumer device 130 can be understood as a broad concept encompassing a series of applications operable on a network server and various databases built therein. For example, at least some of the electronic device 110, user device 120, and advertising consumer device 130 may be implemented using a network server program provided in various ways according to an operating system (such as Disk Operating System (DOS), Windows, Linux, Simplex Information Processing System (UNIX), or Macintosh Operating System (MAC OS)).
[0044] Electronic device 110 is configured to configure and provide various information fragments as a webpage. Electronic device 110 may perform the function of providing product sales information and service provision information to a user or advertising consumer, or providing an advertisement for selling a product and providing a service, but the function of electronic device 110 is not limited to this. At the same time, throughout the exemplary embodiments, a service may be referred to as a product, and a user may purchase a product through the service provided by electronic device 110.
[0045] Electronic device 110 obtains first information related to an advertising consumer viewing a page based on advertising banner information posted on a page by a user associated with electronic device 110. In this regard, the user associated with electronic device 110 may correspond to a subject using user device 120, and the advertising consumer may correspond to a subject using advertising consumer device 130. In addition, the page on which the advertising banner information is posted may correspond to a page managed by a user and included in a channel used by that user, and the channel used by the user may include various types of websites (e.g., a blog, a personal homepage, a social networking service (SNS), and the like).
[0046] Electronic device 110 acquires second information containing information about the location of one of the advertising banners provided on the page. The first and second information may be transmitted from advertising consumer device 130. However, depending on the example embodiment, at least some of the first and second information may be transmitted from user device 120 or generated directly by electronic device 110.
[0047] The electronic device 110 can determine the advertising content provided according to the advertising banner information based on the first information and the second information. The advertising content can be determined by considering a product or service to be advertised or an advertising type. In this regard, the advertising type may include an image, a video, text, and the like, and may reflect whether audio is included and whether automatic playback is performed.
[0048] Electronic device 110 provides advertising content to the user. User device 120 posts the received advertising content on a page, and the posted advertising content can be displayed on advertising consumer device 130.
[0049] Further details relating to the operation of the electronic device 110 will be explained below in Figure 2 and similar figures. Further details relating to the first and second information will be explained below in Figure 3.
[0050] User equipment 120 may be a device operated and managed by a user, and may receive input from the user and perform an operation corresponding to that input. For example, user equipment 120 may respond to a user input by posting an advertising banner on a page to display an advertisement related to electronic device 110. Additionally, user equipment 120 may display advertising content provided by electronic device 110 on the advertising banner posted on the page. Depending on the example embodiment, user equipment 120 may provide electronic device 110 with at least one of first information, second information, information on which the first information is based, and information on which the second information is based.
[0051] The advertising consumer device 130 may be a device operated and managed by the advertising consumer, and may receive input from the advertising consumer and perform an operation corresponding to that input. For example, the advertising consumer device 130 may provide the advertising consumer with a page related to the user or a page related to the service provided by the electronic device 110. Additionally, when advertising banner information related to the electronic device 110 exists in a page accessed by the advertising consumer based on one of its inputs, the advertising consumer device 130 may provide first information or information based on obtaining the first information to the electronic device 110. Depending on the example embodiment, when advertising banner information related to the electronic device 110 exists in a page accessed by the advertising consumer based on one of its inputs, the advertising consumer device 130 may provide second information or information based on obtaining the second information to the electronic device 110.
[0052] User equipment 120 and advertising consumer equipment 130 may each include a computer device, a mobile communication terminal, a server, and the like. User equipment 120 and advertising consumer equipment 130 may each include an input device (such as a touchpad, a mouse, a keyboard, or the like) for receiving input from users and advertising consumers, or be connected to such an input device. Additionally, user equipment 120 and advertising consumer equipment 130 may each include an output device (such as a screen or a speaker) for providing information to users and advertising consumers, or be connected to such an output device. Furthermore, the input and output devices of each of user equipment 120 and advertising consumer equipment 130 may be configured or associated integrally; for example, an interface for receiving user input may be displayed on a screen of user equipment 120.
[0053] Operations related to a series of information processing methods according to various example embodiments can be implemented by a single physical device and can be implemented in an organized coupling manner of multiple physical devices. For example, some of the components included in a system 100 for providing advertising content can be implemented by one physical device, and some of its remaining components can be implemented by another physical device. For example, the one physical device can be implemented as a component of an electronic device 110, and the other physical device can be implemented as a component of a user device 120, or as a component of an advertising consumer device 130 or other external device. In some cases, each of the components included in the system 100 for providing advertising content can be distributed and disposed in different physical devices, and the distributed components can be organized and combined to perform the functions and operations of the system 100 for providing advertising content. For example, the electronic device 110 of this specification may include at least one sub-device, and it is stated that some operations performed by the electronic device 110 can be performed by a first sub-device, and some other operations can be performed by a second sub-device.
[0054] Figure 2 is a flowchart illustrating one of the information processing methods of an electronic device in a system for providing advertising content according to an example embodiment.
[0055] Referring to FIG2, according to an example embodiment, an electronic device 110 obtains first information related to an advertising consumer viewing a page based on advertising banner information posted on a page by a user associated with the electronic device. The first information may be transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130 (201). Alternatively, information on which the first information is based may be transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130, and the electronic device 110 may generate the first information based on the information transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130.
[0056] Depending on the specific embodiment, there may be various specific embodiments in which the electronic device 110 obtains the first information, such as the first information being transmitted from the user device 120 or information based on the first information being transmitted from the user device 120. However, for ease of explanation, one specific embodiment in which the electronic device 110 obtains the first information from the advertising consumer device 130 will be described below.
[0057] The first information may include identification information of the advertising consumer. The electronic device 110 may designate the advertising consumer based on the first information.
[0058] According to one embodiment, the electronic device 110 can obtain cookie information corresponding to the advertising consumer device 130 and obtain first information by identifying the advertising consumer based on the obtained cookie information. In this regard, the electronic device 110 obtains a mapping table in advance, in which the cookie information and the identification information of the advertising consumer are mapped, before the advertising consumer visits the page, and can identify the advertising consumer based on the cookie information by using the previously obtained mapping table when the advertising consumer visits the page.
[0059] An example related to the first information is illustrated in Figure 3 below.
[0060] Electronic device 110 acquires second information containing information about one of the locations of the advertising banner on the page. The second information may be transmitted from user device 120 (202). Alternatively, the information on which the second information is based may be transmitted from advertising consumer device 130, and electronic device 110 may generate the second information based on the information transmitted from advertising consumer device 130.
[0061] In another embodiment, the information for identifying the second information may be included in the advertising banner information of the page provided by the user device 120, and the advertising consumer device 130 may provide information related to the advertising banner to the electronic device 110 based on the information included in the banner information when requesting the corresponding page. According to one example, information related to the user, information related to a channel in which a banner is displayed, and information related to a position where the banner is displayed may be included in code for displaying the banner, and when the consumer device 130 requests a page containing the banner, the electronic device may obtain the first information and the second information by transmitting a request message containing the information contained in the code for displaying the banner to the electronic device 110. As explained above, when the information contained in the code for displaying the banner on the page provided by the user is transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130 to the electronic device 110, the electronic device may obtain the first information and the second information.
[0062] Depending on the specific embodiment, there may be various specific embodiments in which the electronic device 110 acquires the second information, such as the second information being transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130 or the information on which the second information is based being transmitted from the advertising consumer device 130. However, for ease of explanation, one specific embodiment in which the electronic device 110 acquires the second information from the user device 120 will be described below.
[0063] Although the second information is illustrated in the diagram as being acquired after the first information, the second information and the first information may be acquired simultaneously, or the second information may be acquired before the first information. More specifically, information regarding one location on the page where advertising banner information is provided may be determined prior to the advertising consumer entering the page, and in this case, the second information may be transmitted to the electronic device 110 before the advertising consumer enters the page. In this case, the electronic device 110 may store the second information in its memory.
[0064] In addition to information regarding the location of the advertising banner, the second information may also include at least one of the following: information related to the user, information related to the page, and information related to a channel of the page. For example, the second information may include at least one of the following: user identification information, identification information of a portion of the page providing an advertisement, page identification information, and identification information of the channel providing the page. The electronic device 110 may specify a user, specify a portion of the page providing an advertisement, specify a page, or specify a channel of the page based on the second information.
[0065] An example related to the second information is illustrated in Figure 3 below.
[0066] According to one embodiment, the electronic device 110 may obtain third information (203) including advertising effectiveness related to one or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110. The electronic device 110 may obtain the third information by determining advertising effectiveness based on the history of one of a plurality of advertising consumers who have flowed into services related to the electronic device 110 through one or more previously provided advertisements and the activity history of such advertising consumers who have flowed into the service. The activity history of advertising consumers regarding the service may include information related to the impact of the advertising consumers' activities on the sales of an item related to the electronic device 110 or on the provision of services by the electronic device 110. As an example of advertising effectiveness, advertising effectiveness may be determined based on at least one of the following: a change in the sales volume of an item sold by the electronic device 110 in conjunction with one or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110, a change in the number of users of a membership offered by the electronic device 110, a change in the total sales volume corresponding to the electronic device 110, and a change in the net profit corresponding to the electronic device 110.
[0067] According to one embodiment, advertising effectiveness can be further determined based on whether an item purchased by an advertising consumer flowing into the service corresponds to an item advertised through one or more advertisements. For example, advertising effectiveness can be determined based on a result of dividing the activity history of advertising consumers who have flown into services related to electronic device 110 through one or more previously provided advertisements into a history corresponding to an item advertised through the use of the advertisement and a history not corresponding to an item advertised through the use of the advertisement. For example, advertising effectiveness may include a result that quantifies only the effect on an item advertised through one or more advertisements previously provided by electronic device 110. Alternatively, advertising effectiveness may include a result that quantifies the effect by reflecting the effect on an item advertised through one or more advertisements previously provided by electronic device 110 with a greater weight than the effect on other items.
[0068] One or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110 may include advertisements in which banner information is provided in the location information corresponding to the second information. In other words, the third information may include an advertising effect related to one or more advertisements in which banner information is provided in the location corresponding to the second information. However, one or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110 are not limited to advertisements in which banner information is provided in the location information corresponding to the second information, and in at least some of the advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110, the banner information provided may be different from the location information corresponding to the second information. In addition, at least some of the advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110 may have been displayed in association with a channel different from the channel used by the user.
[0069] Although the third information is illustrated in the diagram as being acquired after the first and second information, the time of acquisition of the third information is not limited to after the acquisition of the first and second information. More specifically, the third information, which includes advertising effects related to one or more previously provided advertisements, may be acquired before the advertising consumer enters the page, and in this case, the electronic device 110 may store the third information in its memory before the advertising consumer enters the page.
[0070] The third information may include at least one of the following: advertising content corresponding to one or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110, information related to the channel and page where one or more advertisements were previously provided by the electronic device 110, and information regarding the location of an advertising banner on the page corresponding to one or more advertisements previously provided by the electronic device 110. In other words, the third information may include the results of analyzing advertising effectiveness from various perspectives based on conditions such as advertising content, a channel where advertisements are provided, a page where advertisements are provided, and an advertising banner where advertisements are provided.
[0071] The electronic device 110 determines the advertising content provided by the advertising banner information based on the first information and the second information (204). According to an example embodiment, the electronic device 110 may further determine the advertising content based on the third information.
[0072] Specifically, the electronic device 110 can obtain first attribute information including characteristics of an advertising consumer, and second attribute information including at least one of characteristics of a page with posted advertising banner information and characteristics of a channel providing the page, and determine the advertising content based on at least one of the first attribute information and the second attribute information. Specifically, the electronic device 110 can obtain the history of advertising consumers who have entered into a service related to the electronic device through previously provided advertisements and the activity history of advertising consumers for the service, and obtain the characteristics of advertising consumers based on the history of entering into the service and the activity history of the service, thereby obtaining the first attribute information. For example, when an advertising consumer enters into the service by selecting an input of a basketball shoe advertisement previously displayed on a blog and then purchases basketball clothing, the first attribute information may include the characteristic that the corresponding advertising consumer is interested in basketball, the characteristic that the advertising consumer intends to purchase basketball-related items, and the characteristic that the advertising consumer is likely to be interested in the advertisement displayed on a blog. In addition, the first attribute information may also include the characteristic that the corresponding advertising consumer is likely to respond to a sports-related advertisement or be interested in a sports-related product (such as sportswear).
[0073] According to an example embodiment, the electronic device 110 may generate first attribute information and second attribute information in response to a page visit by an advertising consumer, or it may generate first attribute information and second attribute information and store the first attribute information and second attribute information in memory in advance, and then retrieve the first attribute information and second attribute information from memory in response to a page visit by an advertising consumer.
[0074] The electronic device 110 can obtain second attribute information by: obtaining at least one of the following: the content provision history of a channel, the content provided in the channel, and the visit history of a channel by a plurality of advertising consumers; and obtaining a characteristic of the channel based on the content provision history, the provided content, and the visit history of a plurality of advertising consumers. The electronic device 110 can also obtain second attribute information by: obtaining at least one of the following: the content provision history of a page, the content provided on the page, and the visit history of a page by a plurality of advertising consumers; and obtaining a characteristic of the page based on the content provision history, the provided content, and the visit history of a plurality of advertising consumers. In this regard, the advertising content can be determined based on at least one of the characteristics of a plurality of advertising consumers visiting a channel and the characteristics of a plurality of advertising consumers visiting a page.
