Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] This invention relates to the field of projection technology, and more particularly to a projection device and its control method. [Previous Technology]

[0002] A projection device (such as a projector) is a display device that converts image data from an external signal source into an image beam. Since an image can be displayed simply by projecting the image beam onto any surface, projection devices are widely used in various scenarios.

[0003] Generally, if a user wants to adjust an external signal source (such as changing image data or playing sound effects), the user needs to control the external signal source through a control device (such as a mouse, keyboard, laser pen, or touchscreen) that communicates with the external signal source. Furthermore, if a user wants to set the brightness, volume, or input source of the projection device, currently this is done through the projector's buttons or a remote control. This results in inconvenience in display settings.

[0004] The "Prior Art" paragraph is only used to help understand the content of this invention. Therefore, the content disclosed in the "Prior Art" paragraph may include some prior art that does not constitute conventional art known to those skilled in the art. The content disclosed in the "Prior Art" paragraph does not mean that the content or the problem to be solved by one or more embodiments of this invention was known or recognized by those skilled in the art prior to this application. [Summary of the Invention]

[0031] In order to make the above features and advantages of the present invention more apparent and understandable, specific embodiments are described below, and detailed descriptions are given in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Implementation Method

[0049] The foregoing description and other technical contents, features and effects of the present invention will be clearly presented in the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. The directional terms mentioned in the following embodiments, such as up, down, left, right, front or back, are only for reference to the accompanying drawings. Therefore, the directional terms used are for illustrative purposes and not for limiting the present invention.

[0050] Please refer to Figure 1, which is a block diagram of a projection device according to an embodiment of the present invention. The projection device 1 is electrically connected to a signal source 2. The projection device 1 is, for example, a projector. The signal source 2 is, for example, an electronic device such as a laptop, desktop computer, tablet computer, smartphone, audio / video player, or digital set-top box. The projection device 1 is used to receive input data from the signal source 2 and generate an image beam and / or audio data based on the input data. The input data is, for example, input image data and / or input audio data. The projection device 1 can be used to project an image beam onto a projection target (such as a wall, desktop, or projection screen) and generate a projected image corresponding to the image beam on the projection target.

[0051] The projection device 1 includes a recognition module 100, a calculation and judgment unit 200, a control module 300, an interface module 400, a signal processing module 500, a projection module 600, and an audio module 700. The recognition module 100 is used to generate multiple recognition sensing data sequentially over time. These recognition sensing data are distance data. When the projection device 1 is operating, the recognition module 100 continuously senses the distance between the object and the recognition module 100 to generate multiple recognition sensing data. The calculation and judgment unit 200 is electrically connected to the recognition module 100. In response to the projection device 1 operating to recognize gesture behavior, the calculation and judgment unit 200 is used to receive multiple recognition sensing data (such as distance data) from the recognition module 100, identify the gesture content based on the multiple recognition sensing data, and generate control commands based on the identified gesture content. The control module 300 is electrically connected to the calculation and judgment unit 200. The control module 300 is used to receive control commands and determine the command channel object of the control commands. The command channel object is at least one of the interface module 400 and the signal processing module 500. The interface module 400 is electrically connected to the signal processing module 500 and the signal source 2. The interface module 400 is used to receive input data from the signal source 2 and provide the input data to the signal processing module 500. In one embodiment, the interface module 400 is electrically connected to the control module 300, and the interface module 400 is used to receive control commands from the control module 300. The interface module 400 transmits the control commands to the signal source 2, enabling the signal source 2 to operate in response to the control commands. The signal processing module 500 is electrically connected to the control module 300 and the interface module 400. The signal processing module 500 is used to receive control commands from the control module 300 and input data from the interface module 400. Signal processing module 500 generates at least one of projection data and audio data based on received control commands and input data. Projection module 600 is electrically connected to signal processing module 500. Projection module 600 receives projection data from signal processing module 500 and provides an image beam based on the projection data. Projection module 600 includes at least components such as a light source, a light valve, and a projection lens. The light source may include at least one of a light-emitting diode and a laser diode. The light valve may be a digital micromirror device (DMD) or a liquid crystal panel. Audio module 700 is electrically connected to signal processing module 500. Audio module 700 receives audio data from signal processing module 500 and outputs the received audio data.

[0052] The arithmetic judgment unit 200, the control module 300, and the signal processing module 500 may be, for example, one or more processors with computing capabilities, or they may be hardware circuits designed using a Hardware Description Language (HDL) or any other digital circuit design method well known to those skilled in the art, and implemented using a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD), or Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) (such as a distributed data processor (DDP)). The arithmetic judgment unit 200, the control module 300, and the signal processing module 500 may be housed in the same System on a Chip (SOC).

[0053] The recognition module 100 of one embodiment of the present invention can be used to enable the projection device 1 to operate in recognizing gesture behavior, eye protection behavior or focusing. Thereby, the projection device 1 can recognize the user's gesture content through the recognition module 100, and adjust at least one of the projection data and audio data based on the gesture content, and control the operation of the signal source 2 based on the gesture content, so as to realize the control of the projection device 1 and / or the signal source 2 by the gesture content.

[0054] In one embodiment, the recognition module 100 includes a gesture recognition module 110 and an eye protection recognition module 120. The gesture recognition module 110 is electrically connected to the calculation and judgment unit 200. The gesture recognition module 110 is used to sense the distance between itself and an object, and generates multiple gesture recognition sensing data based on the sensed distance. The eye protection recognition module 120 is electrically connected to the calculation and judgment unit 200. The eye protection recognition module 120 is used to sense the distance between itself and an object, and generates multiple distance recognition sensing data based on the sensed distance. The object can be the user's hand or an item held by the user (e.g., a pointer). In one embodiment, the gesture recognition module 110 and / or the eye protection recognition module 120 can be implemented by one or more single-area detection units or multi-area detection units. The single-area detection unit is, for example, a PIR (Passive Infra-Red sensor) sensor, and the recognition sensing data is numerical data. The numerical data is, for example, voltage value data. The multi-area detection unit is, for example, a Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensor, and the identification sensing data is depth image data. Therefore, when the projection device 1 operates in gesture recognition mode, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives the gesture recognition sensing data. When the projection device 1 operates in eye protection mode, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives the distance recognition sensing data. In one embodiment, the gesture recognition module 110 and the eye protection recognition module 120 can be the same recognition module. That is, the gesture recognition module 110 and the eye protection recognition module 120 can be executed by the same detection unit. Therefore, the identification sensing data generated by the recognition module 100 can be either the gesture recognition sensing data or the distance recognition sensing data. In other embodiments, the gesture recognition module 110 and the eye protection recognition module 120 can be different recognition modules, and the projection device 1 can simultaneously operate in eye protection mode and gesture recognition mode.

[0055] Please refer to Figures 2 to 4 simultaneously. Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of the relative positions of the detection units. Figure 3 is a schematic diagram of the relative positions of the detection units and the projection target. Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of the relationship between the detection range of the detection unit and the projection range of the projected image. A first axis X, a second axis Y, and a third axis Z, which are perpendicular to each other, are shown in Figures 3 and 4. The projection target 3 is, for example, a projection screen or a projection surface. The identification module 100 may include at least one detection unit 130, which may be implemented, for example, by the aforementioned single-area detection unit. The at least one detection unit 130 is located on the projection device 1 and is positioned facing the projection target 3. The detection range of the at least one detection unit 130 at least partially overlaps with the projection range P. When an object is located between the at least one detection unit 130 and the projection target 3, and falls within the detection range of the at least one detection unit 130, the at least one detection unit 130 may generate corresponding identification sensing data (distance data) based on the distance between the object and the at least one detection unit 130. In one embodiment, the identification module 100 may include a first detection unit 131 and a second detection unit 132. The first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132 are located on the same side of the projection device 1 and arranged along the first axis X direction, with a horizontal connecting line L1 (parallel to the first axis X) between them. The first detection unit 131 has a detection range S1. The second detection unit 132 has a detection range S2. The detection ranges S1 and S2 of the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132 do not overlap at least partially. The non-overlapping areas of detection ranges S1 and S2 are, for example, regions A and C, and the overlapping area is, for example, region B. In other embodiments, the detection ranges S1 of the first detection unit 131 and S2 of the second detection unit 132 may not overlap completely. In this embodiment, the regions A, B and C formed by the detection ranges S1 and S2 of the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132 can be arranged along the first axis in the X direction.

[0056] In one embodiment, the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies gesture content based on multiple identification and sensing data at different time sequences. Please refer to Figures 1 to 4 simultaneously. In response to the projection device 1 operating to identify gesture behavior, the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies gesture content based on the identification and sensing data of the object and at least one detection unit 130, and generates control commands based on the gesture content. In embodiments where the object moves laterally or vertically, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives identification sensing data corresponding to the distance between the object and the first detection unit 131 (second detection unit 132) in a first time sequence. After the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives identification sensing data corresponding to the distance between the object and the second detection unit 132 (first detection unit 131) in a second time sequence later than the first time sequence, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines, based on the time sequence, the identification sensing data, and the source of the identification sensing data, whether the object moves from the detection range S1 of the first detection unit 131 to the detection range S2 of the second detection unit 132, or vice versa. Therefore, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can identify the gesture content. Next, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines the corresponding instruction category based on the gesture content (for example, the gesture content of horizontal movement corresponds to the instruction category of reducing the volume of the projection device 1), generates a control instruction based on the instruction category, and provides the control instruction to the control module 300.

[0057] For example, in an embodiment where the object moves laterally (along a direction parallel to the first axis X), the object is initially located in region A. In the first time sequence, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives identification and sensing data corresponding to the distance between the object and the first detection unit 131 only from the first detection unit 131, and this process can continue for a specific period of time. In the second time sequence, the object moves to region B, and the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives identification and sensing data corresponding to the distances between the object and the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132 (simultaneously) from both the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132. In the third time sequence, the object moves to region C, and therefore only the second detection unit 132 receives identification and sensing data corresponding to the distance between the object and the second detection unit 132. The identification and sensing data received by the calculation and judgment unit 200 in the first, second, and third time sequences are distance data with different values. The calculation and judgment unit 200 determines, based on the time sequence, the identified sensing data, and the source of the identified sensing data, that an object has moved from the detection range S1 of the first detection unit 131 to the detection range S2 of the second detection unit 132. Therefore, the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the lateral movement gesture content G1. Next, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines the corresponding instruction category based on the gesture content G1, generates a control instruction based on the instruction category, and provides the control instruction to the control module 300. In this embodiment, gesture content G1 may correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting that an object moves from region A to region B or region C, or from region B to region C. Gesture content G2 may correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting that an object moves from region C to region B or region A, or from region B to region A.

[0058] For example, in the embodiment where the object moves longitudinally (along a direction parallel to the second axis Y), the difference from the embodiment where it moves laterally is that, in the first time sequence, the object is initially located in region A. In the second time sequence, the object moves to region B. In the third time sequence, the object moves back to region A, so only the first detection unit 131 receives the identification sensing data. The calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the object moves from region A to region B and then returns to region A, and the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the gesture content G3 of longitudinal movement. In this embodiment, the gesture content G3 can correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting at least that the object moves from region A to region B, or that the object moves from region B to region A. The gesture content G4 can correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting at least that the object moves from region C to region B, or that the object moves from region B to region C.

[0059] Please refer to Figures 5 and 6 simultaneously. Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of the relative positions of the detection unit and the projected target. Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of the relationship between the detection range of the detection unit and the projection range of the projected image. The difference between Figure 5 and Figure 3 is that the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132 in the embodiment of Figure 5 are arranged along the second axis Y. As shown in Figure 6, the regions A, B, and C formed by the detection range S1 of the first detection unit 131 and the detection range S2 of the second detection unit 132 can be arranged along the direction of the second axis Y.

[0060] In the embodiment of FIG. 6, when the object moves longitudinally (along a direction parallel to the second axis Y), the difference from the longitudinal movement embodiment of FIG. 4 is that, in the first time sequence, the object is initially located in region A. In the second time sequence, the object moves to region B. In the third time sequence, the object moves to region C, therefore only the second detection unit 132 receives the identification sensing data corresponding to the distance between the object and the second detection unit 132. The calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the object has moved from the detection range S1 of the first detection unit 131 to the detection range S2 of the second detection unit 132, therefore the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the gesture content G5 of longitudinal movement. In this embodiment, the gesture content G5 can correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting that the object moves from region A to region B or region C, or from region B to region C. The gesture content G6 can correspond to the detection unit 130 detecting that the object moves from region C to region B or region A, or from region B to region A.

[0061] In the embodiment where the object is moving back and forth (as shown in Figure 3), the calculation and judgment unit 200 sequentially receives multiple identification and sensing data of the distance between the object and the first detection unit 131 from the detection unit 130 (hereinafter, the first detection unit 131 is used as an example). The calculation and judgment unit 200 can determine whether the object is moving away from or approaching the first detection unit 131 based on the time sequence and these identification and sensing data. Therefore, the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the gesture content of moving back and forth. In this embodiment, multiple identification and sensing data can be obtained by only one detection unit 130. Please refer to Table 1, which shows an embodiment of multiple identification and sensing data. When the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives recognition and sensing data of distances of 5cm, 10cm, and 15cm between the object and the first detection unit 131 in the first time sequence to the third time sequence, respectively, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the object's movement direction is away from the detection unit (first detection unit 131) based on these recognition and sensing data. The calculation and judgment unit 200 can identify the first forward and backward movement (the object moves from far to near relative to the projection target 3) gesture content G7. The recognition method of the second forward and backward movement (the object moves from near to far relative to the projection target 3) gesture content G8 is the same as that of the first forward and backward movement, so it will not be described again here. Gesture content First Time Sequence Second Time Sequence Third Time Sequence Direction of movement From near to far (G7) 5cm 10cm 15cm Far from the detection unit From far to near (G8) 15cm 10cm 6cm Proximity Detection Unit Table 1

[0062] Please refer to Figures 1, 7 to 9 simultaneously. Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of the relative positions of the detection units. Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of the relative positions of the detection units and the projected target. Figure 9 is a schematic diagram of the relationship between the detection range of the detection unit and the projection range of the projected image. In this embodiment, the identification module 100 may further include a third detection unit 133. The third detection unit 133 is not configured on the horizontal line L1, and another horizontal line L2 can be defined between the third detection unit 133 and the first detection unit 131, and yet another horizontal line L3 can be defined between the third detection unit 133 and the second detection unit 132. The horizontal lines L1, L2, and L3 do not overlap with each other. The detection range S3 of the third detection unit 133 partially overlaps with the detection ranges S1 and S2 of the first detection unit 131 and the second detection unit 132, respectively. The detection ranges S1, S2, and S3 of the first detection unit 131, the second detection unit 132, and the third detection unit 133 at least partially overlap with the projection range P.

[0063] When the projection device 1 operates to recognize gesture behavior, the calculation and judgment unit 200 performs linear transformations based on the object's recognition and sensing data from the first detection unit 131, the second detection unit 132, and the third detection unit 133 to obtain the object's coordinates. The calculation and judgment unit 200 can establish a two-dimensional coordinate system associated with the projection range P. The calculation and judgment unit 200 can perform linear transformations based on the object's recognition and sensing data (distance data) from the first detection unit 131, the second detection unit 132, and the third detection unit 133 to obtain the object's coordinate values (coordinate data) in the two-dimensional coordinate system. By continuously changing the object's coordinates, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can recognize the gesture content. For example, when the X-axis value of the object's coordinates continuously increases, and the change value of the Y-axis value falls within a preset threshold, it means that the object is moving from left to right, and the calculation and judgment unit 200 can recognize the "left to right" lateral movement gesture content. In another embodiment, when the X-axis value of an object continuously increases, and the change in the Y-axis value falls outside a preset threshold, and the change in the Y-axis value is a geometric progression, it indicates that the object is moving in a horizontal arc. The calculation and judgment unit 200 can identify the "horizontal arc" gesture content (as shown in gesture content G9 in Figure 9). Therefore, based on the object's coordinates in two-dimensional coordinates, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can clearly determine the relative position between the object and the projected image. In one embodiment, the two-dimensional coordinate information can be pre-stored in the projection device 1, thereby eliminating the need for the calculation and judgment unit 200 to establish additional two-dimensional coordinates, effectively reducing the computational load required by the calculation and judgment unit 200.

[0064] Please refer to Figures 1, 10, and 11 simultaneously. Figure 10 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of the identification sensing data. Figure 11 is another schematic diagram of an embodiment of the identification sensing data. In the embodiment where the detection unit 130 is implemented by the aforementioned multi-region detection unit, the detection unit 130 generates depth image data as identification sensing data. The detection unit 130 is used to divide the plane of the detection range into multiple sub-detection ranges (e.g., 9x9 sub-detection ranges) and to sense the distance between these sub-detection ranges and the detection unit 130, so as to generate depth image data based on these sub-detection ranges and the corresponding distance data. The calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the gesture content based on the change in distance data of each sub-detection range in different time sequences. As shown in Figure 10, in the first time sequence, the sub-detection range A1 that is occluded by an object has a closer first distance information to the detection unit 130. The first distance information is smaller than the distance information of other sub-detection ranges. Therefore, the sub-detection range A1 forms a raised area in the depth image data. Referring to Figure 11, in the second time sequence, the sub-detection range A2 in the depth image data is occluded by an object and thus possesses second distance information, which is less than the distance information of other sub-detection ranges. Therefore, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can identify that the object moves from left to right using the depth image data generated in the first and second time sequences, and thereby identify the "left to right" gesture content.

[0065] In one embodiment, the projection device 1 further includes a storage module 900, as shown in FIG1. The storage module 900 is electrically connected to the calculation and judgment unit 200 and the control module 300, and the storage module 900 is used to store a lookup table and / or two-dimensional coordinate information. The storage module 900 may be a read-only memory, random access memory, or a memory device of the control module 300. The calculation and judgment unit 200 may look up the information in the lookup table and generate a control command based on the gesture content. Please refer to Table 2, which is an embodiment of the lookup table. For example, when the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies that the gesture content is from near to far, the calculation and judgment unit 200 may determine the command category corresponding to the gesture content (reduce the brightness of the projection device) in the lookup table. Thereby, the calculation and judgment unit 200 may generate a control command based on the command category and provide the control command to the control module 300. Gesture content Instruction categories Command channel object From near to far (moving forward or backward) Reduce the brightness of the projection device Image processing module 510 From far to near (moving back and forth) Increase the brightness of the projection device Image processing module 510 Move horizontally from left to right. [0066] In one embodiment, the control scenario for recognizing gesture content may include a one-way control scenario and an interactive control scenario. In the one-way control scenario, the calculation and judgment unit 200 recognizes the gesture content and generates corresponding control commands based on a pre-set lookup table. In the interactive control scenario, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines the position of the gesture content based on projection data including object selection data and the recognition and sensing data, and generates control commands according to the projection data and the position of the gesture content. In this embodiment, the gesture content is a pause. For example, the signal processing module generates projection data including object selection data, which includes multiple options. The calculation and judgment unit 200 determines the position of the object within the projection range in real time based on the recognition and sensing data. The calculation and judgment unit 200 also determines whether any option is obscured by the object based on the position of the object and the positions of the multiple options in the projected image. When an option in the projected image is obscured by an object, the calculation and judgment unit 200 generates a control command based on the selected option and transmits the control command to the control module 300. In one embodiment, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can identify the gesture content as "pause and hold" based on a lookup table (e.g., Table 2) and generate a control command based on the gesture content. Please refer to Figures 12 to 14, which are schematic diagrams of an interactive control scenario embodiment. In Figure 12, the projected image includes multiple options O1 and O2. In Figure 13, when an object obscures option O1, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines, based on the identification sensing data, that the object is within the projection range and obscures option O1, and generates a control command. In Figure 14, based on the control command, the control module 300 causes the signal processing module 500 to further include prompt information in the projected image to change the color of option O1 in the projected image. This indicates that option O1 has been selected.

[0067] In one embodiment, the projection device 1 further includes a state detection module 800. The state detection module 800 is electrically connected to the control module 300. The state detection module 800 is used to detect the placement state of the projection device 1 and generate state detection data based on the placement state of the projection device 1. The state detection module 800 includes one of an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a gravity sensor. The state detection data is, for example, an acceleration value, an angular velocity value, or a gravity change value. Based on the state detection data, the control module 300 determines whether the state of the projection device 1 is a hanging mode or a front projection mode, and causes the projection device 1 to operate in a gesture recognition and / or eye protection mode.

[0068] In another embodiment, the control module 300 can determine whether the projection device 1 is in ceiling-mounted mode or front projection mode based on status setting information. The status setting data can be pre-stored in the control module 300 or set by the user through the on-screen display (OSD) setting interface of the projection device 1. When the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is in ceiling-mounted mode, the control module 300 causes the projection device 1 to operate in gesture recognition mode. When the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is in front projection mode, the control module 300 determines whether the projection device 1 operates in gesture recognition mode or eye-protection mode based on behavior setting information. The behavior setting information can be pre-stored in the projection device 1 or input by the user through the on-screen display (OSD) setting interface of the projection device 1. In one embodiment, when the projection device 1 is in ceiling-mounted mode, the control module 300 forces the projection device 1 to be set to gesture recognition mode, preventing the user from switching to eye-protection mode.

[0069] In one embodiment, when the projection device 1 operates in an eye-protection mode, the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the corresponding distance content based on the identification and sensing data, and generates a control command based on the distance content. For example, if the calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the corresponding distance content as 50cm based on the identification and sensing data, it means that the distance between the user and the identification module 100 is 50cm. The calculation and judgment unit 200 can then determine that the distance between the user and the projection device 1 is too close, and thus generate a control command to "reduce the brightness of the projection device", and provide the control command to the control module 300. In this way, the projection device 1 can automatically change the initial settings of the projection device 1 according to the distance between the user and the projection device 1 to provide an appropriate image beam, so that the user has a better user experience.

[0070] In one embodiment, when the projection device 1 is operating to recognize gestures, the control module 300 receives a control command, searches for and confirms the command channel object of the control command in a lookup table (e.g., Table 2), and transmits the control command to the corresponding command channel object. The command channel objects include the interface module 400 and the signal processing module 500. For example, when the control module 300 receives a control command to "reduce the brightness of the projection device," the control module 300 can determine from the lookup table that the command channel object is the image processing module 510 of the signal processing module 500. The control module 300 provides the control command to the image processing module 510. For example, when the control module 300 receives a control command to "reduce the volume of the projection device," the control module 300 can determine from the lookup table that the command channel object is the sound processing module 520 of the signal processing module 500. The control module 300 provides the control command to the sound processing module 520. For example, when control module 300 receives a "pause video / audio" control command, control module 300 can determine the command channel object as interface module 400 in a lookup table. Control module 300 then provides the control command to interface module 400. Control module 300 can provide the control command to interface module 400 through a communication interface conforming to the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification. In one embodiment, the control command can be transmitted to interface module 400 via the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) channel.

[0071] In one embodiment, the control module 300 receives control commands, generates prompt data commands based on the control commands, and transmits the control commands and prompt data commands to the signal processing module 500. The signal processing module 500 generates projection data and / or audio data including prompt data N based on the control commands and prompt data commands. Prompt data N is used to indicate to the user that the action of the gesture content (control command) input has been completed. Referring to FIG15, in one embodiment, when the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the gesture content is "left to right" and generates a control command to "increase the volume of the projection device", the control module 300 generates a prompt data command corresponding to "increase the volume of the projection device". In another embodiment, the control module 300 generates a prompt data command corresponding to one of the multiple options in response to the gesture content corresponding to one of the multiple options. Therefore, in addition to generating audio data to increase the volume of the projection device according to the control commands, the signal processing module 500 also superimposes prompt data N on the projection data according to the prompt data commands. In this way, users can know that the gesture has been completed through the prompts in the projected image.

[0072] In one embodiment, the signal processing module 500 includes an image processing module 510 and a sound processing module 520, as shown in FIG1. The image processing module 510 is electrically connected to the control module 300, the interface module 400, and the projection module 600. The image processing module 510 is, for example, an image processor. The image processing module 510 receives control commands from the control module 300 and input image data from the interface module 400. The image processing module 510 adjusts the brightness, color temperature, color, projection image scaling, etc. of the input image data according to the control commands, and generates projection data based on the adjusted input image data. In this way, the image processing module 510 can generate corresponding projection data based on the control commands and the input image data. In one embodiment, the image processing module 510 overlays multiple object selection data on the input image data based on the control commands to generate projection data including multiple options. In one embodiment, the image processing module 510 overlays prompt data onto the input image data based on a prompt data instruction, generating projection data including the prompt data. In embodiments where the projection data includes multiple options, the prompt data indicates that an option has been selected. The sound processing module 520 is electrically connected to the control module 300, the interface module 400, and the audio module 700. The sound processing module 520 is, for example, a sound processor. The sound processing module 520 receives control instructions from the control module and input audio data from the interface module 400. The sound processing module 520 adjusts the volume, mute / unmute, and audio playback mode of the input audio data according to the control instructions, and generates corresponding audio data based on the adjusted input audio data. Thus, the sound processing module 520 can generate audio data based on control instructions and input data. In one embodiment, the sound processing module 520 generates audio data including prompt data based on a prompt data instruction. For example, the sound processing module 520 generates audio data with a "ding" prompt sound.

[0073] In one embodiment, the interface module 400 includes a front-end processor 410 and an interface 420, as shown in FIG1. The front-end processor 410 is electrically connected to the interface 420. The front-end processor 410 is electrically connected to the control module 300 and / or the signal processing module 500. The front-end processor 410 is used to receive control commands from the control module 300 and transmit the control commands to the interface 420. The front-end processor 410 is used to receive input data from the interface 420 and preprocess the input data. The preprocessed input data is transmitted to the image processing module 510 and / or the audio processing module 520 of the signal processing module 500. When the input data is input image data, the input image data is transmitted to the image processing module 510. When the input data is input audio data, the input audio data is transmitted to the audio processing module 520. The interface 420 is electrically connected to the front-end processor 410 and the signal source 2. Interface 420 is used to receive control commands from front-end processor 410 and transmit the control commands to signal source 2. Interface 420 is also used to receive input data from signal source 2 and transmit the input data to front-end processor 410. Front-end processor 410 may be implemented by a front-end processor conforming to the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification, Video Graphics Array (VGA) specification, or Universal Serial Bus (USB) TYPE-C specification. Front-end processor 410 may include HDMI front-end processor 410a, VGA front-end processor 410b, and TYPE-C front-end processor 410c. Interface 420 may be implemented by an interface conforming to the HDMI specification, Video Graphics Array (VGA) specification, or Universal Serial Bus (USB) TYPE-C specification. Interface 420 may include HDMI interface 420a, VGA interface 420b, and TYPE-C interface 420c.

[0074] In embodiments where the front-end processor 410 and interface interface 420 conform to the high-definition multimedia interface specification, the front-end processor 410 can receive control commands from the control module 300 through the CEC channel, and the interface interface 420 can transmit the control commands to the signal source 2 through the CEC channel. Thus, the signal source 2 can act in response to the control commands to update the input data. For example, in a one-way control scenario, the control commands can be generated based on the command categories in a lookup table. In an interactive control scenario, the control commands can be commands instructing the signal source 2 to perform operations corresponding to coordinate information. The signal source 2 provides input image data including object selection data, the projection device 1 generates a projected image including multiple options based on the input image data, and the signal source 2 issues an object coordinate request through the CEC channel. After the calculation and judgment unit 200 obtains the gesture content (pause) and object coordinate information based on multiple recognition and sensing data, it transmits the control commands including the coordinate information to the control module 300. Control module 300 provides control commands to signal source 2 via the CEC channel. Signal source 2 can perform corresponding operations based on the received coordinate information. For example, signal source 2 can pause the video or audio being played by signal source 2 according to the selected option, and provide the currently displayed video and / or audio as updated input data to interface interface 420. In one embodiment, the processor of signal source 2 can look up the received coordinate information in a table to determine whether one of the multiple options is selected. Please refer to Table 3, which is an embodiment of the option coordinate list. Each option corresponds to a rectangular coordinate range defined by a first endpoint coordinate and a second endpoint coordinate. For example, the first endpoint coordinate of option 1 is (1,5), and the second endpoint coordinate is (5,1), so the first endpoint coordinate and the second endpoint coordinate can define a rectangular coordinate range between coordinates (1,5) and coordinates (5,1). Signal source 2 can determine whether the coordinate information falls within the rectangular coordinate range. When the coordinates fall within a rectangular coordinate range, it indicates that the user has selected the corresponding option. For example, the input image data of signal source 2 includes three options: Option 1, Option 2, and Option 3. After receiving the coordinate information, signal source 2 determines whether the coordinate information falls within the rectangular coordinate range of Option 1, Option 2, or Option 3. When the coordinate information falls within the rectangular coordinate range of Option 1, signal source 2 determines that the selected option is Option 1 and performs the corresponding operation based on Option 1. In another embodiment, the option coordinate list can be stored in the projection device 1, for example, in the storage module 900. Therefore, the calculation and judgment unit 200 can perform a lookup to confirm whether the coordinate information falls within the rectangular coordinate range. When the coordinate information falls within the rectangular coordinate range, the calculation and judgment unit 200 provides a control command containing the option information to signal source 2 through the control module 300. For example, the control module 300 provides the option information of Option 1 to signal source 2. Option number First endpoint coordinates Second endpoint coordinates Option 1 Xa1,Ya1 Xb1,Yb1 Option 2 Xa2,Ya2 Xb2,Yb2 Option 3 Xa3,Ya3 Xb3,Yb3 Table 3

[0075] In one embodiment, the audio module 700 includes an audio amplification module 710 and a speaker device 720. The audio amplification module 710 is electrically connected to the sound processing module 520 and the speaker device 720 (e.g., a loudspeaker). The audio amplification module 710 is, for example, an amplifier circuit. The audio amplification module 710 receives audio data and amplifies the audio data. The speaker device 720 is electrically connected to the audio amplification module 710 to receive and play the amplified audio data.

[0076] Please refer to Figures 1 and 16. Figure 16 is a schematic flowchart of an embodiment of the control method for the projection device, which can be implemented by the projection device 1 embodiment in Figure 1. The control method includes steps S100 to S190.

[0077] In step S100, the control module 300 obtains the status of the projection device. In one embodiment, the status detection module 800 detects the placement status of the projection device 1, generates status detection data based on the placement status of the projection device 1, and provides the status detection data to the control module 300. The control module 300 determines whether the projection device 1 is in ceiling-mounted mode or front projection mode based on the status detection data. In one embodiment, the control module 300 can obtain the status of the projection device based on status setting information. The status setting information can be pre-stored in the control module 300 or input by the user through the on-screen display (OSD) setting interface of the projection device 1. In step S110, when the control module 300 determines that the status of the projection device 1 is ceiling-mounted mode, the control module 300 causes the projection device 1 to operate in gesture recognition mode, and executes step S120. When the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is in front projection mode, the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is operating in gesture recognition behavior based on the behavior setting information, and executes step S120. When the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is in front projection mode, the control module 300 determines that the projection device 1 is operating in eye protection behavior based on the behavior setting information, and executes step S130.

[0078] The recognition of gesture behavior further includes a one-way control scenario. The one-way control scenario includes the following steps. In step S140, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives multiple recognition sensing data from the recognition module 100, identifies gesture content based on the recognition sensing data, and generates a control command based on the gesture content. The control command is provided to the control module 300. The calculation and judgment unit 200 identifies the gesture content based on distance data at different time sequences. In one embodiment, the calculation and judgment unit 200 may look up and generate a control command in a lookup table based on the gesture content. In step S160, the control module 300 determines the command channel object of the control command and transmits the control command to the corresponding command channel object. The command channel object is at least one of the interface module 400 and the signal processing module 500. In one embodiment, the control module 300 further generates a prompt data command based on the control command and transmits the control command to the corresponding command channel object. In step S180, the signal processing module 500 generates projection data and / or audio data. In one embodiment, in response to the instruction channel object being the signal processing module 500, the image processing module 510 of the signal processing module 500 receives a control instruction. The image processing module 510 adjusts at least one of the following parameters of the input image data according to the control instruction: brightness, color temperature, color, projection image scaling, etc., and generates projection data based on the adjusted input image data. In one embodiment, the image processing module 510 overlays multiple object selection data onto the input image data based on the control instruction to generate projection data including multiple options. In one embodiment, the image processing module 510 overlays prompt data onto the input image data based on a prompt data instruction to generate projection data including the prompt data. The prompt data is used to indicate to the user that the control instruction corresponding to their input gesture has been completed. In one embodiment, in response to the instruction channel target being the signal processing module 500, the sound processing module 520 of the signal processing module 500 receives a control instruction. The sound processing module 520 adjusts at least one of the following based on the control instruction: volume, mute on / off, audio playback mode, etc., of the input audio data, and generates corresponding audio data based on the adjusted input audio data. In one embodiment, the sound processing module 520 generates audio data including prompt data based on a prompt data instruction. In one embodiment, in response to the instruction channel target being the interface module 400, the signal source 2 receives a control signal through the interface module 400 and performs a corresponding action based on the control signal, such as: switching pages, pausing video playback, previous page, next page, previous song, next song, etc., to update the input data provided to the interface module 400. Thus, the projection module 600 can generate a corresponding image beam based on the projection data generated by the signal processing module 500, so as to form a corresponding projected image on the projection target by means of the image beam. Meanwhile, audio data can be played through audio module 700.This enables the control or setting of the projection device 1 and / or signal source 2 through gesture control.

[0079] Step S150 is performed after step S130. In step S150, the calculation and judgment unit 200 receives multiple identification sensing data from the identification module 100, identifies the corresponding distance content based on the identification sensing data, and determines whether to adjust the initial settings of the projection device to generate a corresponding control command based on the distance content. The initial settings are, for example, the original display settings of the projection device 1 or the display settings at startup. When the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the initial settings of the projection device need to be adjusted, step S170 is executed, and the calculation and judgment unit 200 generates a corresponding control command, such as "reduce the brightness of the projection device". The control module 300 provides the control command to the command channel object. The operation of the command channel object is as described above, so it will not be repeated here. Therefore, the projection device 1 generates a projected image after changing the initial settings. For example, a projected image with reduced brightness is generated. When the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines that the initial settings of the projection device do not need to be adjusted, the calculation and judgment unit 200 does not generate a control command, and the projection device 1 generates a projected image with the initial settings. In this way, the projection device 1 can provide a suitable projected image based on the position of the object (human body, hand and / or pointer), so that the user can have a better user experience.

[0080] The recognition of gesture behavior further includes an interactive control scenario, as shown in Figure 17. The interactive control scenario includes the following steps. Step S210 is executed after step S120. In step S210, the signal processing module 500 generates projection data based on input data and object selection data. In one embodiment, the image processing module 510 superimposes multiple object selection data on the input image data to generate projection data including multiple options. In one embodiment, the signal source 2 provides input image data including object selection data, and the image processing module 510 generates projection data including multiple options based on the input image data. In step S220, the projection module 600 generates an image beam based on the projection data, and the image beam forms a projection image including options on the projection target. In step S230, the calculation and judgment unit 200 obtains the position of the object (gesture content) based on multiple recognition and sensing data, and the calculation and judgment unit 200 and / or the signal source 2 determine whether the options of the object selection data are obscured based on the position of the object. In this embodiment, the gesture content is that the object stops moving. In one embodiment, the calculation and judgment unit 200 determines whether an option is obscured by an object based on the position of the object within the projection range and the positions of multiple options in the projected image. For example, when the position of an object within the projection range overlaps with the position of an option in the projected image, the option is obscured. In one embodiment, the calculation and judgment unit 200 and / or the signal source 2 can determine whether the coordinates fall within the rectangular coordinate range of the option to determine whether the option in the object selection data is obscured. When no option is obscured, no option is selected by the user, so step S230 continues until an option is obscured (selected). When one of the options is selected, step S240 is executed. In step S240, the calculation and judgment unit 200 generates a control command based on the selected option and transmits the control command to the control module 300. The control module 300 sends a control command corresponding to the option to the signal processing module 500 and / or the signal source 2. In step S250, the signal processing module 500 generates projection data and / or audio data including prompt data, the prompt data being used to indicate that an option has been selected. In one embodiment, the control module 300 can generate prompt data instructions based on control commands. The image processing module 510 can overlay prompt data onto the input image data based on the prompt data instructions to generate projection data including the prompt data. In one embodiment, the sound processing module 520 generates audio data including the prompt data based on the prompt data instructions. In step S260, the projection module 600 generates an image beam based on the projection data, and the image beam forms a projected image including options and prompt data on the projection target. The audio module 700 plays audio data, which includes the prompt data. Thus, by including prompt data in the projected image and / or audio data, the user can be notified that the projection device 1 has recognized the option selected by the user.In step S270, the signal processing module 500 or the signal source 2 performs an action corresponding to the selected option according to the received control command. In this way, the user can control the projection device 1 and / or the signal source 2 by interacting with the projected image through gestures, thereby improving the convenience of controlling or setting the projection device and signal source.

[0081] In summary, the projection device and control method of the present invention have at least one of the following advantages: without increasing the cost of additional hardware, the present invention allows users to easily control or set the projection device and signal source through gestures.
