Abstract

One aspect of the invention relates to a method for creating an opening in a glass or sapphire timepiece assembly. According to the method, in a first step (100), a glass or sapphire blank is generated or supplied; in a second step (200), the geometry of the opening is defined and the opening is cut into the form of a hole or profile using a laser filamentation method; and in a third step (300), the timepiece assembly containing the opening is separated from waste material originating from the filamentation method by chemical etching. The invention further relates to a watch comprising a glass or sapphire timepiece assembly having at least one opening manufactured using this method.
