Abstract

This invention provides the use of 5-demethylnobiletin (5-DMNB) in the preparation of a medicament for treating obesity-related metabolic diseases, wherein the obesity-related metabolic disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Experiments conducted according to this invention have demonstrated that 5-demethylnobiletin has the effect of regulating hepatic lipid metabolism and can effectively improve NAFLD.

Claims

1. The use of 5-demethylnobiletin (5-DMNB) in the preparation of a medicament for treating obesity-related metabolic diseases induced by a high-fat diet, wherein the obesity-related metabolic disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

2. The use as described in claim 1, wherein the drug is further used to reduce weight gain caused by a high-fat diet.

3. The use as described in claim 1, wherein the drug is further used to reduce the accumulation of triglycerides (TG) in the liver.

4. The use as described in claim 1, wherein the drug is further used to inhibit hepatic lipid synthesis and / or increase hepatic fatty acid oxidation.

5. The use as described in claim 1, wherein the drug is further used to lower total cholesterol (TC).

6. The use as described in claim 1, wherein the drug is further used to alter the composition of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in liver cells.

7. The use as described in claim 6, wherein the liver cells are primary liver cells.

8. The use as described in claim 6, wherein the extracellular vesicle is an exosome.
