Abstract

This invention provides a method for removing bromine from copper powder resources, comprising the following steps: providing a copper powder resource containing a bromine compound; providing a nano-zero-valent iron sulfide, the nano-zero-valent iron sulfide having a multilayer structure, wherein from the inside out are a zero-valent iron layer, an iron oxide layer, and an iron sulfide layer, the iron sulfide layer being composed of ferrous sulfide, the chemical formula of which is FeS; and subjecting the copper powder resource to a thermal decomposition process, wherein the iron sulfide layer adsorbs the bromine compound, and the bromine compound reacts with the zero-valent iron layer to generate ferric bromide, and the ferric bromide is removed to obtain a debrominated copper resource. This method can reduce the generation of bromodioxins in copper powder resources during the thermal decomposition process.
