Description

[Smoke escape hood] Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to a protective hood, particularly a smoke escape hood for use by a user during a fire to protect the respiratory system and eyes and enhance rescue visibility. Prior Technology

[0002] As modern buildings become increasingly taller and more enclosed, fires are often accompanied by large amounts of toxic smoke. This smoke not only obscures the vision of those trying to escape, but inhalation can also lead to respiratory failure, making it the most significant and deadly factor in a fire.

[0003] While various smoke hoods are available on the market, traditional designs still have many shortcomings. For example, although some smoke hoods have filters and one-way breathing valves, the hood itself is often made of completely transparent material, which lacks sufficient warning effect in dense smoke and low-light environments, making it difficult for rescuers to quickly locate trapped individuals.

[0004] Other smoke hoods, while having a neck cover, are made of multiple pieces of fabric stitched together using traditional sewing methods. This stitching structure is prone to pinholes. In the high-pressure, dense smoke environment of a fire, toxic gases can easily penetrate into the hood through the pinholes or gaps between the stitches. At the same time, the multiple stitching also significantly increases the processing complexity and manufacturing cost.

[0005] Furthermore, while some traditional protective hoods utilize aluminum foil or plastic edging for smoke protection, they lack sufficient fluorescent or reflective warning effects in dense smoke and low-light environments, making it difficult for rescuers to quickly locate trapped individuals. Additionally, their overall structure is relatively complex, and the fit between the neck glove and the hood itself, as well as the smoke protection effect of the bottom shrinkage element, are often insufficient, making it easy for toxic gases to seep in through the bottom gaps.

[0006] In addition, traditional designs are inefficient at venting exhaled gases, and water vapor can easily form inside the transparent window, severely affecting the escapee's vision.

[0007] In view of this, the goal of this new invention is to provide a smoke escape hood that offers a high degree of fit, allows for easy breathing, and provides excellent visual warning. Summary of the Invention

[0008] The purpose of this invention is to provide a smoke escape hood with a seamless adhesive structure, all-around reflective warning effect, and quick-wearing capability.

[0009] To solve the above problems and achieve the purpose of this invention, the technical means of this invention is as follows: a smoke-proof escape hood, characterized by comprising: a hood body made of a composite material of fire-resistant acrylic fabric and rubber membrane, with an internal space for accommodating a human head; a transparent window disposed on the upper front half of the hood body, the transparent window being made of flame-retardant PET film, and having a fluorescent fabric frame around its perimeter; and a fire-resistant mask disposed at the center of the front side of the hood body and located at the transparent... Below the viewing window, there is a filter for external air; a one-way breathing valve is located on the hood body and below the fireproof mask, which allows only the internal air of the hood body to be discharged outward in one direction; a smoke-proof neck glove is made by folding a single fireproof TPE sheet and opening a hole in the center of the bent side, and is located at the lower edge of the hood body, which can be used to restrain the neck of the human body to prevent dense smoke from entering; and at least one reflective element is in the form of a horizontally extending strip structure, which is fixed on the front and rear sides of the hood body.

[0010] More preferably, the headgear body is composed of two pieces of fireproof acrylic fabric and rubber membrane composite fabric.

[0011] More preferably, the two sides of the smoke-proof neck cover are sealed with a flame-retardant adhesive layer after folding, and the top of the smoke-proof neck cover is also connected to the head cover body with a flame-retardant adhesive layer.

[0012] More preferably, the rubber membrane of the hood body is in a warning color to provide high visibility in dense smoke or low light environments.

[0013] More preferably, the fire-retardant TPE material used in the smoke-proof neck sleeve has elasticity and airtightness to ensure a tight fit when in contact with the human neck.

[0014] More preferably, the flame-retardant adhesive layer is a fire-retardant double-sided adhesive.

[0015] More preferably, the reflective element is disposed between the fireproof mask and the one-way breathing valve on the front side of the hood body, and is disposed below the back side of the hood body, with the front and rear reflective elements arranged in a corresponding manner.

[0016] More preferably, the reflective element is disposed above the rear side of the headgear body.

[0017] Compared with the prior art, the advantages of this new technology are as follows:

[0018] Firstly, this new type of hood boasts excellent smoke-proof and airtight protection. The hood itself is made of a composite material of fire-resistant acrylic fabric and rubber membrane, combined with a single fire-resistant TPE sheet at the bottom folded to form a smoke-proof neck glove, which can effectively block high temperatures and toxic smoke. The high elasticity and airtightness of the TPE material itself ensure that the glove can be tightly and comfortably bound around the user's neck, greatly reducing the risk of smoke entering through the bottom gaps and providing the most stringent respiratory protection for escapees in a fire.

[0019] Secondly, this new type of helmet significantly improves visibility in fire rescue by cleverly combining multiple high-visibility designs. The rubber membrane of the helmet body has a bright warning color, which is combined with the fluorescent cloth frame around the transparent window and the horizontal strip reflective elements fixed on the front and rear sides. This allows the escapee to produce a strong visual contrast and reflective effect in the harsh environment of dense smoke and low light, helping search and rescue personnel to quickly locate the trapped person within the golden rescue time.

[0020] Thirdly, this new design ensures smooth breathing and effectively prevents fogging of the visor. The transparent visor, fireproof mask, and one-way breathing valve are vertically separated and arranged from top to bottom on the front side. Inhaled air is filtered by the fireproof mask, while exhaled high-temperature exhaust and water vapor are quickly expelled through the one-way breathing valve below. This hydrodynamic configuration prevents exhaled hot air from accumulating on the top of the visor, completely eliminating the fatal flaw of water vapor condensing inside the PET transparent visor and obscuring vision, ensuring a clear escape route.

[0021] Fourthly, this new type of helmet combines structural strength with process optimization, abandoning the traditional sewing method that is prone to pinhole leakage. The smoke-proof neck cover is made of a single piece folded and sealed on both sides with a flame-retardant adhesive layer, and then connected to the top of the two-piece head cover body using the flame-retardant adhesive layer. This seamless adhesive structure not only completely eliminates the possibility of toxic gases seeping in from the seams, but also greatly simplifies the processing and assembly process, realizes standardized and high-efficiency production, reduces manufacturing costs, and ensures product quality consistency and reliability.

[0022] Fifthly, this new type of product offers excellent ease of wear and ergonomic comfort. In the event of a fire and panic, the user does not need to operate any complicated fastening buckles or straps; they can simply open the smoke-proof neck collar with both hands and instantly slip it over their head. The TPE material has excellent skin-friendliness and resilience, ensuring airtight smoke protection while avoiding excessive pressure on the blood vessels in the neck, thus preventing discomfort. It is suitable for adults and children of various head and neck circumferences and fully meets the stringent requirements of emergency escape products for one-second wear and immediate protection. Simple Explanation of the Diagram

[0023]

[0024] [Figure 1] is a schematic diagram of this invention.

[0025] [Figure 2] is an exploded view of the present invention.

[0026] [Figure 3] is a schematic diagram of the implementation of this novel invention.

[0027] [Figure 4] is a schematic diagram of the cross-sectional side view of this novel invention. Implementation

[0028] The following is a detailed description of the embodiments shown in the figures:

[0029] As shown in Figures 1 to 4, the figures reveal a smoke-proof escape hood, characterized by comprising: a hood body 1, made of a composite material of fire-resistant acrylic fabric 11 and rubber membrane 12, with an internal space 10 for accommodating a human head; a transparent window 2, located on the upper front half of the hood body 1, the transparent window 2 being made of flame-retardant PET film, and having a fluorescent fabric frame 21 around its perimeter; and a fire-resistant mask 3, located at the center of the front side of the hood body 1 and below the transparent window 2, for use in... The device includes: a filter for external gases; a one-way breathing valve 4, located on the headgear body 1 and below the fireproof mask 3, which allows only the internal gases of the headgear body 1 to be discharged outwards in one direction; a smoke-proof neck glove 5, made by folding a single fireproof TPE sheet 51 and opening a hole in the center of the bent side, located at the lower edge of the headgear body 1, which can be used to restrain the neck of the human body to prevent dense smoke from entering; and at least one reflective element 6, which is a horizontally extending strip structure and is fixed on the front and rear sides of the headgear body 1.

[0030] The headgear body 1 is made of fireproof acrylic fabric 11 and rubber membrane 12, which can effectively block high temperature and toxic smoke in the fire. At the same time, the transparent window 2 is combined with the fluorescent cloth frame 21, which not only provides the user with a clear field of vision, but also makes the position stand out in the dark.

[0031] Secondly, the fireproof mask 3 and the one-way breathing valve 4 are arranged vertically. When the user inhales, the fireproof mask 3 filters out toxic substances from the outside world. When exhaling, the high-temperature exhaust gas and water vapor are directly and quickly discharged from the outside world through the one-way breathing valve 4 below, avoiding the exhaled hot air from lingering inside the headgear body 1. This completely solves the problem of water vapor condensing inside the transparent window 2 and blurring the vision.

[0032] Furthermore, the reflective element 6 can produce a strong visual reflective effect in harsh environments with dense smoke and low light, helping rescuers to quickly see and locate the trapped person's position for escape.

[0033] As described above, the headgear body 1 is composed of two pieces of fireproof acrylic fabric 11 and rubber membrane 12 composite fabric.

[0034] The two composite fabric pieces constitute the headgear body 1, which provides a three-dimensional and spacious space 10, ensuring the user's head movement range and improving wearing comfort.

[0035] As shown in Figure 2, after the smoke-proof neck sleeve 5 is folded, both sides are sealed with a flame-retardant adhesive layer 7, and the top of the smoke-proof neck sleeve 5 is also connected to the head cover body 1 with a flame-retardant adhesive layer 7.

[0036] This seamless adhesive structure completely eliminates the possibility of toxic gases seeping through the seams, and abandons the traditional sewing method that is prone to pinhole leakage, greatly simplifying the processing and assembly process, achieving standardized and efficient production, reducing manufacturing costs while ensuring smoke and leak-proof quality.

[0037] In the above, the rubber membrane 12 of the headgear body 1 is in a warning color to provide high visibility in dense smoke or low light environments.

[0038] The warning colors, such as bright red, orange-red, orange, and yellow, combined with the fluorescent cloth frame 21 and the reflective element 6, form a multi-layered high-visibility design, creating a strong visual contrast in the fire scene and gaining valuable rescue time.

[0039] Secondly, the fire-resistant TPE material used in the smoke-proof neck sleeve 5 has elasticity and airtightness to ensure a tight fit when in contact with the human neck.

[0040] Furthermore, the fire-retardant TPE material has excellent skin-friendliness and resilience, which can ensure airtight smoke prevention while avoiding excessive pressure on the blood vessels in the neck and causing discomfort. It is suitable for adults or children of various head and neck circumference sizes.

[0041] In the above, the flame-retardant adhesive layer 7 is a fire-retardant double-sided adhesive.

[0042] The fire-retardant double-sided adhesive has excellent flame-retardant and high-temperature resistance properties, which can ensure that it does not melt or lose its adhesiveness in the extreme heat source environment of the fire scene, and avoid the peeling of the smoke-proof neck sleeve 5 and the head cover body 1 at the joint. At the same time, the double-sided adhesive can provide a uniform and stable bonding surface, eliminating the curing waiting time required by traditional liquid adhesive coating, further improving the processing and assembly efficiency and the overall airtight and leak-proof quality.

[0043] In the above, the reflective element 6 is arranged laterally between the fireproof mask 3 and the one-way breathing valve 4 on the front side of the headgear body 1, and laterally below the back side of the headgear body 1, so that the front and rear reflective elements 6 are arranged in a corresponding manner.

[0044] When the reflective element 6 is arranged on the front and rear sides of the headgear body 1, it can ensure that the user can effectively reflect the search and rescue light in a dense smoke environment, whether in a prone, supine or facing away from the rescuers, providing an all-round three-dimensional visual warning effect and greatly shortening the search and rescue positioning time.

[0045] Secondly, the reflective element 6 is horizontally positioned between the fireproof mask 3 and the one-way breathing valve 4 on the front side, and at the corresponding position on the rear side, making it easy for others to see the reflective element 6. If it were positioned below the one-way breathing valve 4, it would be too low for others to see the reflective element 6. Therefore, positioning the reflective element 6 between the fireproof mask 3 and the one-way breathing valve 4 is better than positioning it below the one-way breathing valve 4.

[0046] In the above-mentioned configuration, the reflective element 6 can be positioned above the rear side of the headgear body 1.

[0047] Among these features, the reflective effect of the back side of the hood body 1 can be enhanced. Designed for collective escape scenarios in fire situations, it can effectively guide those following behind when the escapee's back is facing away, preventing pushing or collisions due to poor visibility, and further improving the overall safety protection and guidance mechanism. Furthermore, the reflective elements 6 are located on the upper and lower parts of the back side of the hood body 1, which increases the reflective effect of the back side, making it easier for others to clearly see the reflective elements 6 on the back side.

[0048] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, when using this new type of device, the user does not need to operate a complicated fastening device. They only need to open the opening 52 of the smoke-proof neck sleeve 5 with both hands to instantly put it on their head and secure the opening 52 to their neck. In a smoke-filled environment, the user can inhale filtered clean air through the fireproof mask 3 and exhale smoothly through the one-way breathing valve 4, ensuring smooth breathing and clear vision during escape and fully protecting the user's life.

[0049] The above description details the structure, features, and effects of this invention based on the embodiments shown in the drawings. However, the above description is only a preferred embodiment of this invention, but the scope of implementation of this invention is not limited to what is shown in the drawings. Therefore, any modifying changes that are consistent with the intent of this invention should be included within the scope of this invention's patent, as long as they have equivalent effects.
