Abstract
Claims
1. A carbon capture system for treating an exhaust gas generated from a carbon source, the carbon capture system comprising: a first unit fluidly connected to the carbon source for receiving the exhaust gas and separating it into a first capture stream and a first exhaust stream; a second unit fluidly connected to the first unit for receiving the first exhaust stream and separating it into a second capture stream and a second exhaust stream; and a third unit fluidly connected to the second unit for receiving the second exhaust stream and performing biocarbon fixation on it to generate a purified gas.
2. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a heat recovery unit thermally coupled to the carbon source and the second unit for capturing waste heat and providing regenerated heat energy to the second unit.
3. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a control unit that is signal-connected to the first unit, the second unit and the third unit.
4. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first unit includes a carbon capture membrane separation unit having a membrane module that can withstand a high temperature of at least 180 degrees Celsius.
5. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 4, wherein the thin film of the thin film module comprises a polybenzimidazole thin film or a ceramic thin film.
6. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second unit comprises: an absorption tower for containing an alkaline absorbent; and a regeneration unit for regenerating the alkaline absorbent.
7. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the alkaline absorbent is a mixed amine comprising ethanolamine (MEA) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP).
8. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the absorption tower comprises, from top to bottom, at least a demisting zone, a spraying zone, a filling zone and an internal cooling zone.
9. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the third unit is a photosynthetic reactor comprising a biobed containing algae.
10. The carbon capture system as claimed in claim 9, wherein the algae comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of Spirulina platensis, Chlorella vulgaris and Nannochloropsis sp.
